(p. 80) ari ari. [Tel.] Affix denoting possession. నేర్పు skill, నేర్పరి skilful, సిగ్గు shame, సిగ్గరి timid. అరి ari. [Tel.] n. A bowstring. Tax, tribute. వింటినారి, ప్రజలవద్ద రాజులు మర్యాదకు పుచ్చుకొనేపాలు. అరివెట్టు to pay revenue. ఆరిగోరులు the share both of the government and of the inhabitants, i.e., the total produce. పుల్లరి tax on grazing lands. 'అరులుమిగుల గొనిరాజులు, నరులకు నెంతయును భయమొనర్తురు.' M. III. v. 302.

(p. 86) alagā alagā. [H.] adj. Separate, unconnected. ప్రత్యేకమైన, అలగాభూమి pasture-land, waste land kept for grazing. అలగా పుల్లరి grazing tax levied on cattle not belonging to the village. అలగా అసామి a private individual, one not concerned, not a regular cultivator.

(p. 147) uṅgiḍi ungiḍi. [Tel.] n. A disease amongst cattle arising from their grazing on the sprouts of జొన్నలు, నాపచేను and ఆముదపాకులు, as in England they are injured by eating clover.

(p. 749) pāśupālyamu pāṣu-pālyamu. [Skt. from పశుపాలనము.] n. The business of a grazier, rearing and keeping cattle. గవాశ్వాదిరక్షణము, గొల్లలవృత్తి.

(p. 1030) mēpu mēpu. [Tel. from మేయు.] v. a. To feed, graze, మేయుజేయు. To herd or tend cattle, పశువులనుకాచు వాడు పశువులను మేపుతాడు he grazes cattle. n. To make (one feed on): to make (one) tend (cattle) తినిపించు, మేయునట్లు చేయు.

(p. 1102) lāvaṇamu lāvaṇamu. [Skt. from లవణము.] n. A list of soldiers or servants. Enlistment. కొత్తగా కొలువునకువచ్చిన కొలువుడు కానిని పట్టికయందు వ్రాసికొనుట. The profits of a custom house. లావణముచేయు to enlist. లావణి lāvaṇi. n. Money advanced for grazing cattle on pasture land.
