(p. 375) gutti gutti. [Tel.] n. A bunch or cluster of fruit, flowers, &c. The ankle చీలమండ. గుత్తికవ్యము or చల్లగుత్తికవ్యము a churn staff. గుత్తిపండు a ligneous berry that grows in bunches. గుత్తిమల్లెలు name of a kind of grain. గుత్తిపడు gutti-paḍu. v. n. To be closed. ముడుగు.

(p. 382) guvva guvva. [Tel.] n. A dove or pigeon. పావురాయి. కూకురాణిగువ్వ kūku-rāṇi-guvva. n. The Green Imperial Pigeon, Cerpophaga œnea. కురుకుటగువ్వ the turtle dove. పొడగువ్వ poḍa-guvva. n. The Spotted Dove, Turtur Suratensis. రాగువ్వ rā-guvva. n. The Red Turtle Dove Oenopopelia tranquebarica. పచ్చగువ్వ paṭsṭsa-guvva. n. The Green Piegeon. Crocopus chlorogaster. Trichodesma Indicum. గువ్వకుత్తుక low voice హీనస్వరము. గువ్వకుత్తుకపడిన pigeon breasted, low-voiced. గువ్వకోలుకొను or గువ్వకరిగొను to assemble in crowds. గుంపులుకూడు; to surround చుట్టుకొను.' (p. 492) ḍagguttika ḍagguttika. [Tel. డక్క+కుత్తిక.] n. Fluttering accents, a tremulous voice. The failure of the voice from dryness of the throat, caused by terror, &c. గద్గదస్వరము. డగ్గుత్తికయినంతట her voice failing with anxiety.

(p. 645) nāri nāri. [Tel.] n. A bowstring. వింటిఅల్లెత్రాడు. A gut or muscle, నరము. నారి or నారికురుపు n. The guinea worm that breeds in the flesh of the leg, సెలపుండు, నాడివ్రణము. నారికాయ nāri-kāya. n. A scar caused by drawing the bowstring, అల్లెత్రాటి తాకుడువలన చేతియందు కలిగిన కిణము. The oil extracted from the Champaka flower, సంపంగి నూనె. పూబాళ pū-bāḷe. (పూ+పాళ.) n. A bunch of flowers, as of an areca palm, &c. పూబిందె pū-binde. n. A very tender fruit, with the flower still attached to it. పూబోడి, పూబోణి or పువ్వుబోడి pū-bōḍi. n. A beautiful woman, lit: one of a flower-like form. పూరేకు pū-rēku. (పూవు+రేకు.) n. The petal of a flower. పుష్పదళము. A jewel worn by women on head. 'చేరుచుక్క చిన్నిపూరేకు పాలియలుమకరికా పత్రభంగంబులు.' Naish. vi. 56. పూరేకులు pū-rēkulu. n. A kind of grain.

(p. 794) pēgu or ప్రేగు pēgu. [Tel.] n. An entrail, gut, or bowel. Generally used in the plural: పేగులు. పేగులు తెగేటట్టు పరుగెత్తినాడు he ran so fast as to break his wind. పేగులు తెగిన గుర్రలు a broken winded horse. అది నా పేగు గనుక నా మనసు తాళలేదు as it was my own child I could not endure to see this. పేగులుతెగ నవ్వినాడు he is ready to split his sides with laughter. పేగునపట్టినతీట rankling or piercing pain. మేమందరము ఒక పేగు we are all sons of the same womb. పేగెక్కుట the wringing of the belly. ఆ బిడ్డకు పేగుపడినది the child is suffering from spasams. పేగుతట్టు or తోము to handle or rub the belly to remove pain. పేగు౛ారు pēgu-ḍzāru. v. n. To have rupture or hernia, బుడ్డదిగు.

(p. 863) baṭṭa baṭṭa. [Tel.] n. Cloth, clothes. వస్త్రము. తడిబట్టతో గొంతుకోయడము to cut the throat with a wet cloth, i.e., to kill by slow torture. adj. Dappled, mottled with white and black or red. బట్టావు a dappled cow. Bald, వెండ్రుకలూడిన బట్టతల a bald head. వెండ్రుకలూడినతల. బట్టతలవాడు a bald headed man. బట్టగుత్తు baṭṭa-guttu. adj. Shameless, సిగ్గుమాలిన ల౛్జలేని. బట్టగెనుపుచెట్టు baṭṭa-genupu-cheṭṭu. n. A certain forest tree. బట్టపువ్వు or నవ్వేతమలపాకు baṭṭa-puvvu. The caricature plant, on the variegated leaves of which there are white marks like faces.

Big, strong, mighty, great, exceeding, large, much, very. బలుగాయము a deep wound. బాలుమూర్ఛ a deep swoon. బలుతడవాయె it grew late, much time has passed. R. v. 95. బలుముల్గమి a cluster of large thorns. T. pref. 43. పలుకెంపుతల పింపుజిగిమోవి a lip which reminded one of a noble ruby. బలుకెంపు = శ్రేష్ఠమైన కెంపు. బలుగుత్తి balu-gutti. (బలువు+గుత్తి.) n. A sort of rice. 'గొబ్బికాయలు బలుగుత్తులు వాలమీగడలు శ్రీరంగాలు కామదార్లు.' H. iv. 156. బలురక్కిస, బల్రక్కిస, బలురక్కెస or బలురక్కసి balu-rakkisa. n. A plant called Arum macrorhizon, (Reeve), గజకర్ణము, గణహాసకము, బ్రహ్మరాకాసిచెట్టు, బృహచ్ఛదము. బలువిడి or బల్విడి baluvidi. n. Way, manner, విధము. adv. Much, vehemently, severely, strongly. అత్యంతము. 'తేరుగదలనీక వైరులు బలువిడి పొదివిపట్టి రాచపోట్లనైన.' M. VIII. ii. 270. బల్దూరము bal-dūramu. n. A great distance. బల్మక్కువ (బలు+మక్కువ.) bal-makkuva. n. Strong love, great affection.

(p. 883) biga or బిగియ biga. [Tel.] adv. Tightly. బిగతొక్కు biga-tokku. v. a. To tread in or tread down tight. బిగపట్టు or బిగబట్టు biga-pattu. v. a. & n. To stop, to withhold, keep back, check, suspend. ఊపిరి బిగబట్టు to hold the breath in. వాన బిగబట్టినది the rain held off. నా జీవితమును బిగబట్టినాడు he kept back my pay. బిగాది bigādi. adj. Penniless, destitute. n. A beggar. 'సీ ఆకతాయబిగాదియడిబండ గుండడుమొండి కట్టె గులాము మొట్టె గోవు.' H. v. 128. బిగి bigi. n. Tightness. Firmness of flesh or body. Rigidity, austerity, superciliousness. దృఢత్వము, బిగువు. adj. Tight, hard, firm. Rigid, austere, proud, arrogant. బిగిబద్ద a stick that holds any two things tight. బిగించు, బిగియించు, బిగుచు or బిగియజేయు biginṭsu. v. a. To tighten to fasten: to stop, suspend. To be stubborn. అత్తవారింటికి పోనని బిగించుకొనియున్నది she stayed at home refusing to go to her husband's house. బిగింపు bigimpu. n. Rigidity, stiffness. Austerity నీ బిగింవులుపనికిరావు your stiffness will do no good. బిగితము bigitamu. (బిగి+ఇతము.) adj. Firm, దృఢము. బిగిమానము bigi-mānamu. n. Tightness, firmness. Rigidity. Austerity. Superciliousness.
