(p. 17) ambhāramu or అంభారవము ambhāramu. [Skt.] n. The lowing of oxen.

(p. 27) agrahāramu agra-hāramu. [Skt.] n. A street or village inhabited by brahmins. A village of which the old and hereditary cultivators are brahmins. A village granted to brahmins by government for charitable or religious purposes; either rent free, or at a favourable assessment. The conditions on which these villages are held are specified thus, సర్వాగ్రహారము a village free from all tax. శ్రోత్రియాగ్రహారము a village granted at a certain fixed assessment. జోడి అగ్రహారము, or బిల్మకా అగ్రగారము or, కట్టుబడి అగ్రహారము a village granted at a rent which fluctuates with the produce. అగ్రహారికుడు a brahmin belonging to such a village. అగ్రహారమనుభవించేవాడు he who enjoys a village free from tax.

(p. 40) aticāramu ati-chāramu. [Skt.] Accelerated motion, especially of planets.

(p. 48) adhyāhāramu adhyāhāramu. [Skt.] n. Adding a word or words to complete a sentence, supplying an ellipsis. లోపముగా నుండేచోట ఒకటి రెండు మాటలను తెచ్చుకోవడము. అధ్యాహృతము adhyāhritamu. [Skt.] Supplied as an elliptical word.

(p. 51) anācāramu an-āchāramu. [Skt.] n. Improper conduct, Impurity. దుర్నడత, అశుచి. అనాచరణము an-acharaṇamu [Skt.] n. Non-observance.

(p. 63) apahariñcu apa-harinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To pillage, plunder, take by violence or deceit, usurp. ముచ్చిలించు, అన్యాయముగా ఎత్తుకొని పోవు. అపహరణము apa-haraṇamu. [Skt.] n. Plundering, purloining, carrying off, stealing. చౌర్యము, ముచ్చిలించడము, అన్యాయముగా ఎత్తుకొని పోవడము. అపహర్త n. One who carries away by force or violence, a thief, rogue. అపహారము apahāramu. [Skt.] n. Pillage, plunder, taking by violence. దోచుకోవడము. సర్వస్వాపహారము robbing of everything. హాదత్తాపపాదము taking back a gift. దత్తాహృతము adj. that which is robbed or stolen.

(p. 69) abhighāramu abhi-ghāramu. [Skt.] n. Ghee or clarified butter. నేతిబొట్టు, usually putting a few drops of clarified butter upon rice prior to eating: or putting it in the sacrficial fire to purify the rice.

(p. 71) abhisañcāramu abhi-sanchāramu. [Skt.] n. A wandering about.

(p. 72) abhyavahāramu abhy-avahāramu. [Skt.] n. Eating, food. భక్షణము, ఆహారము.

A slight or superficial wound, a slight graze or wound. స్వల్పగాయము. అసిధారావ్రతము asī-dhāra-vratamu a vow to stand on the edge of a sword; (figuratively) being engaged in any hopelessly difficult task. అసిధేను or అసిధేనుక or అసిపుత్రి asidhēnu. n. A knife. ఛురిక, సూరకత్తి. 'సంబంద్ధాసిధేనుల్.' Parij. ii. 118. అసిపత్రము asi-patramu. [Skt.] n. The blade of a sword. కత్తి యొక్క అలుగు or the sheath. కత్తి ఒర. అసిబోవు asi-bōvu. v. n.
