(p. 172) usulu usulu. [Tel.] n. Ease, facility; convenience అనుకూలము, సౌఖ్యము. వాని శరీరము కొంచెము ఉసులు కాలేదు he is rather better in health it was not convenient or easy for him. ఉసులయిన tolerably good, easy, light ఉసులు చేయు to facilitate.

(p. 204) aivaccu ai-vaṭṭsu. [Tel.] v. i. To be agreeable, or profitable. To prosper. To agree with one's health. అచ్చివచ్చు.

(p. 205) oṇṭu onṭu. [Tel.] n. A share, division. A village community గ్రామసమూహము. A unit in numeration. సారెని ఒంటు the place or square in which a counter stands in a game at draughts. ఒంటు or ఒంటుబావిలి. n. A sort of ear-ring worn by by men. పురుషులకర్ణభూషణము. ఒంటు v. i. To agree with one's health, to be wholesome or salubrious. ఇముడు, అనుకూలించు. To touch, to go near, to approach చేరు. ఆ దేశానికిన్ని ఈ దేశమునకున్ను ఒంటక ఆశక్తముగానున్నది or అక్కడి నీళ్లకును ఇక్కడి నీళ్లకును. ఒంటనందున వానికి ఒళ్లు కుదురులేదు his health suffered from change of water, (change of air.) See on నీళ్లు. ఒంటుకొను onṭu-konu. v. i. To touch, go near. తాకు. చేరు.

(p. 341) kṣēmamu kshēmamu. [Skt.] adj. Happy, well, in good health, prosperous, safe. కుశలమైన, శుభమైన, ఆరోగ్యమైన, శ్రేయస్కరమైన, భద్రమైన. n. Good fortune, welfare, happiness, health, safety. Bliss. A safe for money. శుభము, కుశలము, భద్రము, కలిగినది చెడకుండుట. యోగక్షేమములు విచారించుట to enquire after a person's welfare. క్షేమముగా నుండు to be happy or well. క్షేమంకరుడు or క్షేమకారి kshēmankaruḍu. n. A benefactor మేలుచేయువాడు. క్షేమకరము kshēa-karamu. adj. Auspicious, salutary, beneficial, advantageous. శుభకరమైన, శ్రేయస్కరమైన. క్షేమతండులము kshēma-tanḍulama. n. The rice provided for a journey. రోవకుకట్టినబియ్యము. 'ఎసటిపోతలుగాగ నేర్చినించిన. చిరంతనాపుశాలి క్షేమతండులములు.' A. ii. 111.

(p. 375) guṇamu guṇamu. [Skt.] n. A quality, property, virtue, disposition, temper, character, or attribute. Tendency, effect, purpose, use. A symptom as of disease. వానికి గుణమువచ్చినది he is now come to his senses. నీలగుణము blackness. మంచి గుణము goodness, good temper. మోహగుణము the passion of lust. వానికి గుణముగానున్నది he is better, he has recovered. పది రూపాయలుయిస్తే గుణమే if he gives ten rupees so much the better. అందువల్ల యేమిగుణము what is the use of it? వానితో మాట్లాడితే గుణము లేదు there is no good in speaking to him. పది గుణములుగల or గడియకు ఒక గుణముగల freakish, changeable, whimsical వాంతిభ్రాంతిగుణము an attack or symptoms of cholera. The three Gunas are Rajah (passion) Tamah foulness: and Satvam (Truth). Added to a numeral, thus ద్విగుణము twice as much or two-fold. త్రిగుణము thrice as much, or three-fold. గుణము n. A cord, a string. త్రాడు. A bow string. అల్లెత్రాడు. గుణధ్వని the sound of the bowstring. గుణపడు guṇa-paḍu. v. n. To recover, improve, ameliorate. గుణమగు guṇa-m-agu. v. n. To recover. వారికి గుణమైనది they have improved. గుణమిచ్చు guṇa-m-iṭsṭsu. v. n. To affect favourably, as medicine, to improve the health. గుణము చేయు guṇamu-chēyu n. The cure. గుణవంతుడు or గుణయుతుడు guṇa-vantuḍu. n. A worthy or good man. గుణవతి guṇa-vati. n. A good woman. గుణి or గుణుడు guṇi. adj. Endowed or gifted with good qualities. 'గుణగుణంబులరీతి కూడిమాడి' (Paidimarri. iv. 214.) united as closely as goodness and the good, as the virtuous and virtue. అధికగుణుడు highly distinguished. గుణించు or గుణియించు guṇinṭsu. v. a. To multiply, calculate. To spell. గుణితము guṇitamu. n. Multiplication, spelling. గుణ్యత guṇyata. n. Excellence, goodness, worth. 'గుణ్యత యేమైననుసరి ప్రాణ్యవనము చేయవలయు.' T. iii. 96.

Cool, cold. శీతము. Benign, merciful, healing. Comfortable. చల్లకము ṭsallakamu. n. Sprinkling. Watering, irrigation. చల్లుట. చల్లకడి ṭsalla-kaḍi. n. Easily, gently, well, safely, comfortably: in good health, softly, deliberately. చల్లగాచూచు to look at or regard with satisfaction. చల్లగామాట్లాడు to speak coolly or gently. మీదొరతనము చల్లగా నుండవలెను may your reign be peaceful! వాని చెయ్యి చల్లగా నుండవలెను may his hand be blessed! 'తే అందరికి నన్నివగల నానాందమిచ్చి, చల్లచేయగ.' (Ila. i. 79.) with her graces she charmed them all, cheering and refreshing their hearts. కన్నులచల్లచేసె. (T. ii.38.) it cheered his eyes. చల్లని చెయ్యగల వైద్యుడు a physician with a lucky hand. చల్లనిప్రభువు a kind master. చల్లచప్పుడు ṭsalla-ṭsappuḍu. n. A fool జడుడు. చల్లచీమ or చలిచీమ ṭsalla-chīma. n. A black ant, so called because it is benign or merciful in not stinging as the red ant does. చల్లజంపు ṭsalla-zampu. n. One who kills in cold blood. A cruel man భయంకరుడు. చల్లటి ṭsllaṭi. adj. Cool Convex. చల్లటిబిళ్ల a convex plate of glass. as distinguished from అద్దపుబిల్ల a pane. చల్లడము or చల్లాడము ṭsallaḍamu. n. Tight drawers or breeches: short trousers, which reach as far as the middle of the thigh. The loose skirt end of the waist band that hangs in front: ఇ౛ారు, సగముతొడవరకు తొడుగుకొనే గుడిగి. చల్లదనము or చల్లన ṭsalla-danamu. n. Coolness, coldness. చల్లనీరుకణితి ṭsalla-nīru-kaṇiti. n. A sort of fish. A species of sparus. Russell's fishes. No. 104. చల్లలపడు ṭsalla-paḍu. v. n. To cool. చల్లన గు. చల్లరసము Same as చల్లకడి. చల్లరాడు tsalla-rāḍu. n. The post (తరికంబము) round which the string passes, which works the churning stick. చల్లవడియము tsalla-caḍiyamu. n. A kind of cake. వడియములలో ఒకభేదము. చల్లచేయు ṭsalla-chēyu. v. t. Gentleness, gentlemanly conduct, ఋజుత్వము, యోగ్యత. తిన్నని tinnani. adj. Gentle, gentle-manly, worthy, proper, correct, slow, straight, direct. Elegant, pretty. తిన్ననికాను her slender waist.

(p. 528) timma or తిమ్మన timma. [Tel.] adj. Whole, healthy. స్వస్థము. n. Health. స్వస్థత. v. t. To bless. దీవించు. నేను వానిని తిట్టనులేదు తిమ్మనులేదు. తిమ్మపడు to become well, to be refreshed, స్వస్థపడు, సేదతేరు.

(p. 632) nanayu , ననచు or ననుచు nanayu. [Tel.] v. n. To expand, bloom, blossom, sprout, పూచు, పుష్పించు, పల్లవించు, చిగిరించు. To be pleasant or fine, ఇంపగు. To excel, అతిశయించు. A. v. 133. ననుపు nanupu. v. n. To agree with one's health or constitution. ఈ దే శము నాకు ననుపలేదు this country does not agree with me. n. Amiability, agreeableness, seductiveness. అనురాగము, ఇంపు, అతిశయము. adj. Agreeable. Swa. ii. 81. ననుపుకాడు or నన్పుకాడు nanupu-kādu. n. Virtue, morality. నీతి. నయములేదు it is no better. నయభయములమందలించి, or నయభయములుతోప by fair means or foul, by allurement or alarm, by rough or smooth methods. నయనష్టానికి for either profit or loss, for better or worse. నయమారగా civilly, kindly. ఇది వారికి దొరకడము నయము they were lucky in getting this. నీవు రావడము నయము it is well that you came. కొంచెము నయమయినది it is somewhat improved or better. నయమొప్పు duly, fitly, easily. adj. Smooth. నునుపైన. Soft, మృదువైన. Fine, అందమైన. Cheap, చవుకయైన. Well. easy, better in health, convalescent. Malleable, not brittle. High (as a note in music, as opposed to ఘనము or deep notes.) నయముగా nayamu-yā. adv. Easily, well, kindly, better, cheaply. నయముగానున్నది there is an improvement, it is better. వానికి నయముగానున్నది he is better or convalescent. నయగారము nayag-āramu. (నయము+కారము.) n. Smoothness, softness. మృదుత్వము. A soft word, మృదువచనము. నయగారి naya-gāri. n. A gentleman, a courteous man, మృదుత్వముగలవాడు. మృదువచనముగల వాడు. నయించు nayinṭsu. v. n. &a. To agree, to hold well together, as a paragraph. సందర్భించు. To cause to have, పొందించు.

(p. 637) nalugu , నలగు or నలియు nalugu. [Tel.] v. n. To break. To be broken, bruised, crushed, crumpled or reduced to powder. నలియగు. To rub with a fragrant paste నలుగుపెట్టు. To become easy, smooth, or familiar by acquaintance. To wither, be weakened or debilitated. ఆ పాఠము అతనికి నలిగినది the lesson has become familiar to him. దోవ యింకా నలగలేదు the road is not yet trodden smooth. వారు జగడమాడగా నేను నలిగిపోతిని they were the disputants but I was the sufferer, I was crushed between them. వారు నలిగిపోయినాడు they are in reduced circumstances. ఒళ్లు నలిగియున్నది the limbs are quite tired. నలుగు nalugu. n. Rubbing, scrubbing the limbs with fragrant paste made usually of పెసలు. నలుగుపెట్టు to rub the limbs with paste. నలుగు or నలుగుపిండి n. A sort of fragrant paste used as soap. నలుగుడు or నలగుడు naluguḍu. n. Difficulty, trouble, pain, suffering. పిడనము, సంకటము, తొందర, ఇబ్బంది 'అతండు నలుగుడుబడరాదో మగువ.' Suca. iii. 333. That which is thrashed or bruised. నలిగినది. నలుగుడుపెట్టు to oppress, to harass. నలగగొట్టు nalaga-goṭṭu. v. a. To pound, to bruise. వాణ్ని నలగకొట్టినారు they thrashed him severely. నలత or నల్త nalata. n. Debility: a weak state: the remains or constitutional effects of a disease. పురాణించిన రోగము. Convalescence, a bad state of health, lingering indisposition, a low fever. నలతగొట్టు nalata-goṭṭu. n. A make-bate, a thorn in one's side. నలుకువ or నలకువ nalukuva. n. Ailing, an ill state of health. వ్యాధి. Suffering, శ్రమము, బాధ. Weariness, ఆయాసము. నలుచు, నలచు or నలుపు naluṭsu. v. a. To crush. To rub the skin. నలియజేయు, తోము.

(p. 644) nāmu nāmu. [Tel.] n. The new sprout springing from the stumps of millet. Empty or blasted ears of corn which are thought to be hurtful to the health of cattle. చిగిర్చిన జొన్నకొయ్యకాలు. Malice, చలము. 'నిండారునాముతో బండిరక్కసుడు రాగుండియల్ బగులంగజెండినాడు.' Nagnijit. ii. 33. నామువాసన a disgustingly strong scent. నాపచేను nāpa-chēnu. (from నాము) n. A field of జొన్నలు of which the stalks after being cut, have thrown out sprouts నాపపంట the crop so produced.
