(p. 729) paśuvu paṣuvu. [Skt.] n. A beast, an animal, నాలుగుకాళ్లజంతువు. A domestic animal such as a cow, buffalo, goat, or sheep. పశువులకొట్టము a cow house. పశుభావము simplicity. పశుకృత్యము a brutal act. పశుఘ్నుడు a slayer of animals. పశుజనము the profane or brute folk, i.e., the heathen, the heterodox, or uninitiated. పశుపతి paṣu-pati. n. A name of Siva, as the master or ruler of all living creatures. పశుప్రాయుడు a brutish or ignorant man.

(p. 749) pāṣaṇḍamu pāshanḍamu. [Skt.] n. Heresy, heterodoxy. పాషండుడు or పాషండి pāshanḍuḍu. n. A heretic, schismatic, unbeliever, blasphemer, freethinker, or heterodox Hindu. వేదబాహ్యుడు. శివపాషండులు the intolerant sect of Saivites, or Jangams. విష్ణు పాషండులు bigoted worshippers of Vishṇu. In the ఆశ్చర్యాష్టోత్తరశతము is this verse, 'నాస్తిక, మ్లేచ్ఛ, పాషండ, బౌద్ధ, ప్రాకృత, దుర్గమం' the atheist, the foreigner, the heretic, the Buddhist, the base man and the evil-doer.
