(p. 17) ambāramu ambāramu. [H.] A heap of grain. ధాన్యరాశి. Also, the government share in a crop. (Vizag) అంబారసొఝు to heap up grain అంబారములుగా పడియుండు to lie in heaps. ఉభయరాశి అంబారము a heap of grain containing both the shares due to government to the landholder.

(p. 128) āśramamu āṣramamu. [Skt.] n. Abode, cell, hermitage, retreat (equivalent to a Living, rectory or see). State, stage, period or time of life from a religious point of view. There are four such stages, viz, 1. బ్రహ్మచర్యము bachelorhood or studentship. 2. గార్హస్థ్యము house-holdership or being head of a family. 3. వానప్రస్థము being an anchorite. 4. సన్యాసము being a recluse. ఆశ్రమధర్మము the duties peculiar to each stage of life. ఆశ్రమస్వీకారము āṣrama-svīkāramu. n. Embracing the ascetic condition: bidding farewell to the world.

(p. 130) āhavanamu āhavanamu. [Skt.] n. A sacrifice. యజ్ఞము. ఆహవనీయము āhavanīyamu. n. One of the three consecrated fires in the grand Hindu sacrifice. It is lighted from the house-holder's perpetual fire: and is prepared for receiving oblations.

(p. 132) iṇṭi inṭi. [Tel. from ఇల్లు] adj. Of the house ఇంటియొక్క ఇంటికాపు. inṭi-kāpu. n. A householder, a married man. గృహస్థుడు. ఇంటిపట్టు inṭi-paṭṭu. n. The place near the house. The state of being a householder or married man. గృహస్థ ధర్మము. ఇంటిపాప inṭi-pāpa. n. A slave girl. వెలకుకొన్న దాసి. ఇంటి పేరు inṭi- pēru. n. The family or house name. ఇంటియాతడు or ఇంటి ఆయన inṭi-yātaḍu. n. The husband. పినిమిటి. ఇంటిల్లిపాది inṭilli-pādi. [ఇల్లు+ఎల్ల+(పా+ఆది] n. All the family. కుటుంబమువారందరు. See ఇల్లు.

(p. 136) ināmu or ఈనాము ināmu. [H.] Inam, a present of gift; land granted by the Government rent free for ever or subject to a small quit rent. A present by Government. మాన్యము, బహుమానము. ఇనాముదారుడు a holder of an inam. నెత్తురుకట్టు ఇనాము land granted to such as had shed blood in battle. కదీంయినాము an old bequest. దివిటీయినాము a grant of land to a torchbearer. ఇనాయతుచేయు to grant.

(p. 271) kāpu . kāpu. [Tel. from కాచు.] కాచు. n. Keeping, attendance. Protection, guard. రక్షణము. Heat, warmth (This is from కాగు.) Productiveness కాయలుకాచుట. The crop or fruit. కాపుడిగినచెట్టు a tree that is past bearing. కండ్లకు రెప్పలు కాపుగానున్నవి the eyelids are a protection to the eyes. కాపు ఉంచు to place a guard. కాపు or కాపువాడు n. A tenant. A farmer, a cultivator. A rustic or countryman. A person, an individual, a dweller. మంచు కొండకాపు or హిమాచలవాసి. Siva రుద్రుడు. సొమ్ముకాపు a holder or owner of property. పాలికాపు a member or shareholder. మహనాటికాపులు leaguesmen, members of the (Mahanādu) community. కాపుగడ or కాపుడు kāpugaḍa. n. B.D. iv. 1963. కావత. kāpata. n. A country girl, a rustic. The female of కాపు. కాపుతనము kāpu-tanamu. n. The rustic condition, the state of farmers. ఈ కాపుతనమును విడిచిపెట్టడము మేలు it would be better to give up the farming business. కాపుది A woman of the farming caste, a female rustic.

(p. 291) kuṭumbamu kuṭumbamu. [Skt.] n. A family. A household. Race. నేను చాలా కుటుంబము గలవాడను గనుక as I am a man of large family. కుటుంబి or కుటుంబికుడు kuṭumbi. n. A householder, the head of a family. కుటుంబిని kuṭumbini. n. The mother of a family.

(p. 577) dakṣiṇamu dakshiṇamu. [Skt.] n. The right hand side (i.e., while facing the East.) The south, కుడిదిక్కు. See under పూర్వ. adj. Pertaining to the right hand, కుడి. Southern, కుడిదిక్కుది. దక్షిణకైలాసము the southern Kailasa-an epithet given to the town of Kalahasti. దక్షిణాగ్ని dakshiṇ-āgni. n. (p. 696) paṭṭā, paṭā or పట్ట paṭṭā. [Tel.] n. The inner bark of a tree. Sackcloth. A sort of girdle cloth. Also, a lease; a grant or lease specifying the land occupied by a cultivator and the assessment due on it. రాజు రయితులకిచ్చే కవులు. పట్టాదారుడు a pattadar, a leaseholder. బిల్మక్తాపట్టా a lease for a gross aggregate rent, one in which the land tax and all other cesses are consolidated. See పట్ట, and పట్టము.

(p. 746) pāli or పాలిటి pāli. [Tel. from పాలు a part or share.] adj. Connected with, appertaining to Near. పాలికాపు or పాలివాడు a comrade, a partner, భాగస్థుడు. n. A partner, proprietor or share-holder. A farm-servant. నాపాలిదైవము my tutelary god. వారిపాలి మృత్యువు the death that was doomed them. వారిపాలికేగె he went up to them. తన పాలిభాగ్యదేవత అని లోనికి కొంచుపోయి he looked upon the guest as a God and took him in. (p. 920) bhāgamu bhāgamu. [Skt.] n. A portion, share, part, quarter, side. దక్షిణ భాగమందు on the south side. సమభాగములుగా in equal shares. బాగలబ్ధమైనభూమి land that fell to his share. భాగధేయము bhāga-dhēyamu. n. Luck, భాగ్యము. A royal revenue, పన్ను. భాగరి bhāg-ari. n. A sharer, partner, fellow. భాగస్వామి bhāga-swāmi. n. A shareholder. భాగహారము bhāga-hāramu. n. Division in Arithmetic. భాగించు bhāginṭsu. v. a. (p. 1143) vasati vasati. [Skt. from వస్ to dwell.] n. A house, dwelling. ఇల్లు. Convenience. commodiousness, comfort. హాయి, సౌఖ్యము, అనుకూలము. Night, రాత్రి. Also, a pension, an allowance of money, భరణము. వసతి దారుడు a pensioner, a holder of an allowance of rent-free land. A proprietor of land, a landholder. అక్కడ నీళ్లవసతిలేనందున as good water is not easily procurable there. ఆ యిల్లు నిండా వసతిగాలేదు the house is not very convenient. వారికి ఆ గ్రామములో వసతులు ఏర్పరిచినాడు, లేక, ఇచ్చినాడు he granted them a living in that village. వసతిగానుండే vasati-gā-n-unḍē. adj. Convenient, commodious. హాయిగానుండే. అక్కడ నీకు వసతిగా నుంటే దిగు if you find a suitable spot you may halt or put up there.
