(p. 242) kannamu kannamu. [Tel.] n. A hole made by burglars through a wall. నేలకన్నము a way dug under a wall by thieves. BD. v. 701. కన్నపుకత్తి kannapu-katti. n. A housebreaker's wrench. A sharpened bar of iron to bore a hole through a wall. కన్నపుముట్టు or కన్నకోల kannapu-muṭṭu. A crowbar used in digging such a hole; called in thieves' slang, a jemmy, betty, or a rook. కన్నముపెట్టు or కన్నమువేయు kannamu-peṭṭu. v. n. To commit burglary, to dig through a wall.

(p. 645) nārasamu nārasamu. [from Skt. నారాచం.] n. An iron style or arrow: a pin or spike run through a volume to keep it together. A tool used by housebreakers for boring walls. Proverbially used for a piercing glance. వాని నాలుకమీద నారసము జేసినారు they have put a padlock on his lips. నారసము or నారసగంటము an iron style (గంటము) of which each end is pointed, but with different tips for writing on harder and softer leaves.
