(p. 40) atidēśamu ati-dēṣamu. [Skt. Lit. making over.] n. Extended application, inference, analogy, substitution.

(p. 57) anumānamu anu-mānamu. [Skt.] n, Surmise, conjecture, suspicion, doubt. In logic, inference. సందేహము, యుక్తి చేత నిర్ణయించడము. వాని మీద అనుమానము తోచినది, వాని మీద అనుమానమున్నది I suspect him. అనుమానఖండము Induction (logic.) అనుమానించు or అనుమానపడు anu-māninṭsu. [Skt.] v. n. To doubt, hesitate, suspect. సందేహపడు.

(p. 65) apōhamu apōhamu. [Skt.] n. An unwarranted inference Inferring the existence of what does not really exist any where లేనిది ఊహించుట. Ascertaining by investigation, decision. నిర్ణయము, నిష్పత్తి It commonly means a lie, a false hood, a false charge. అబద్ధము, కల్ల, తప్పు ఫిర్యాదు. నా మీద అపోహము చెప్పినాడు he laid the blame upon me falsely.

(p. 98) avyāpakamu a-vyāpakamu. [Skt.] adj. (In Logic.) Not spreading over the whole, not covering the whole. అవ్యాపకత్వము n. Non-comprehensiveness or generalisation. అవ్యాప్తము that which is not pervaded with. అవ్యాప్తి inadequate extent (of a definition) అవ్యాప్యము not covering the whole ground, not extending over the whole matter. అవ్యాప్యవృత్తి a category of limited application, a partial inference.

(p. 714) parāmarśa , పరామర్శము or పరామరిస parā-marṣa. [Skt.] n. Attention, care, examination. చక్కగా విచారించుట. An inquiry. Condolence, consolation. (In logic,) inference, conclusion. పరామర్శించు parā-marṣinṭsu. v. a. To condole with, to pay attention to; to take care of or tend, to console; to investigate, to examine. (In logic,) to infer, draw conclusions, చక్కగా విచారించు.

(p. 835) pramāṇamu pra-māṇamu. [Skt.] n. Measure, scale; standard; limit; quantity, size, bulk, extent, అంగుళీమానము, జేన, మూఠ, గజము మొదలైనవి. Proof, testimony, authority. A cause, reason, motive. ప్రత్యక్షాది జ్ఞానకారణము, హేతువు. Truth. An oath, adjuration. సత్యము. ప్రమాణముచేయు to make an oath, to take an oath, to swear. ప్రమాణముచేయించు to administer an oath. వేదము శబ్దప్రమాణముగానున్నది the Veda is the standard of revealed truth. శాస్త్ర ప్రత్యక్షాది ప్రమాణములు the methods of Reasoning or Inference. These are: ప్రత్యక్షము actual perception, అనుమానము inference, ఉపమానము analogy, శాబ్దము authority or revelation, ఐతిహ్యము tradition. ప్రమాణీకరించు pramāṇī-karinṭsu. v. a. To consider as true. సత్యముగానెంచు. ప్రమాణీకము pramāṇīkamu. n. Fidelity, faithfulness.

(p. 1172) vitarkamu vi-tarkamu. [Skt.] n. Reasoning, discussion, doubt, deliberation; a conjecture, opinion, inference. ఊహ, తర్కము, తర్కించడము, సంశయము. వితర్కించు vi-tarkinṭsu. v. n. To reflect, ponder hesitate, తలపోయు, డోలాయమానపడు, సంశయించు, ఊహించు.
