(p. 17) ambārapiṇuzu or పిడుదు ambārapiṇuzu. [Tel.] n. A tick which infests animals. పశువులను పట్టే పురుగు.

(p. 289) kunduruvu or కుందువు kunduruvu. [Skt.] n. A sort of weed that infests corn land. Saccharum spontanum. కుందురుబీడు a waste place covered with such weeds. Also, the resin of the Boswellia thurifera, gun olibanum or frankincense సూర్యావర్తము.

(p. 350) gajji gajji. [Tel.] n. The itch, or mange: any cutaneous eruption. తీటకరుపు. గజ్జిపట్టు gajji-paṭṭu. n. To have the itch. గజ్జిపట్టిన infested with itch or mange. వానికి గజ్జిపట్టినది he has the itch. గజ్జిరాయి gajji-rāyi. n. Yellow ochre: the same as బొంతరాయి.

(p. 363) gādamu gādamu. [Tel.] n. Knot grass that infests a field of dry grain. పైరులోని కసువు. A leaf. ఆకు.

(p. 629) naccu naṭsṭsu. v. a. and v. n. To confide, trust. నమ్ము. To coax, persuade; to harass, pester. n. Delay. ఆలస్యము. Wearisomeness, annoyance; something that gives trouble. బాధ. A knot-grass that infests corn. Waste land, infested with knot grass. adj. Wearisome, tiresome, annoying, tedious, importunate. Chronic, as an indolent sore. నచ్చిక or నచ్చిగ nachchika. n. Faith, confidence, belief, trust. నమ్మిక. నచ్చుపెట్టు natstsu-peṭṭu. v. t. To annoy, fret, tease. తొందరపెట్టు, బాధించు. నచ్చుబేరమాడు natsṭsu-bēramādu. v. n. To haggle, chaffer. నన్ను నచ్చుపెట్టి చెప్పినాడు he drummed this in my ears. నచ్చుకాడు, నచ్చుకుప్ప or నచ్చుగొట్టు naṭsṭsu-kāḍu. n. A makebate. A troublesome person, a bore.

(p. 629) naṭṭu naṭṭu. [Tel.] n. A spot of ground. A place, abode. స్థానము, వాసస్థానము, Delay, ఆలస్యము. An obstacle, or hindrance; hesitation. ఆటంకము. Loss, damage. A platform of earth, a terrace. A tape worm. The bent grass that infest corn-fields. సస్యరోగవిశేషము. One species of this called కుందురునట్టు is found in the రేగడ or black soil, another గరకనట్టు in the mudub or mixed soil. The largest species is called పడవనట్టు; the smaller గంపనట్టు. నట్టుకొట్టు naṭṭu-koṭṭu. v. n. To delay. ఆలస్యముచేయు. నట్లుపడు naṭṭlu-paḍu. v. n. To hesitate. తడబడు, అడ్డిపడు. నట్టుకొను naṭṭu-konu. n. To fix (itself) firmly, to be fixed. కుదురుకొను, నెలకొను.

(p. 754) piḍuzu, piḍudu or పిణుదు piḍuḍzu. [Tel.] n. A tick or louse that infests cattle, a bott, గోమారి. Various kinds are బుడ్డ పిడుదు or అంబారుపిడుదు a cattle tick. అరికెపిడు౛ు or చెక్కపిడుదు a woodlouse, and చీమపిడుదు a body louse.

(p. 771) purugu or పురువు purugu. [Tel.] n. A worm, any insect or reptile that has no wings. క్రిమి, కీటకము. గుల్లపురుగు a shell fish. వారి పురుగు లేకుండా చేసినాడు he exterminated them. వాడు చెడు పురుగు he is a vile wretch. పురుగుపట్టిన infested with insects, decayed.

(p. 813) polamu polamu. [Tel.] n. A field, corn land. చేను, పైరుపెట్టునేల. A rice field, వరిపైరుపెట్టునేల. Uncultivated land on which cattle graze, పసులుమేయు భూమి. A forest, అడవి. A place, land, ground, ప్రదేశము. ఊరిపొలము the land attached to a village. వెలిపొలము the outlying fields belonging to a village. A village, ఊరు. A trace, ౛ాడ. Manner, విధము. పొలపు కూరలు field herbs, or ordinary herbs, as చెంచలి, చిట్లింత, పేరింత, పొన్నగంటి, మొదలైనవి. (These weeds infest fields sown with జొన్నలు, &c.) 'అప్పొలమువరాహపోతములు భూవర తొండములేని యేనుగుల్.' Swa. iv. 18. టీ అప్పొలము వరహపోతములు, అక్కడి అడవిపందిగున్నలు. 'గీ ఈ పొలములగుమహాధిక వ్రతములు దేహబాధకములు.' M. XII. iv. 361. ఈ పొలములగు, ఈ విధములైన పొలముపాటు polamu-pāṭu. n. Husbandry, పైరుపెట్టుట, కృషి, వ్యవసాయము. పొలకట్టు pola-kaṭṭu. ైోౌ n. A ploughed field. Kasi Yatra. 55. పొలమరి polam-ari. n. A cultivator. పొలముకాపు. 'పొలమరులందుకూతలిడ భూసురులన్నదివార్చివార్చి.' A. iii. 28. టీ పొలమరులు, పొలముచేయువారు. పొలవరి or పొలమరి polapari. (పొలము+అరి.) n. One who knows the signs, ౛ాడతెలిసినవాడు.

(p. 1126) vaḍlu vaḍḍlu. [from Skt. వృహి. and plu. of వరి.] n. Paddy, rice in the husk, rice grain. వరిధాన్యము. శాలిధాన్యము. పిషాణపువడ్లు a fine sort of paddy. వడ్లచిలుక vaḍla-chiluka. n. A kind of insect that infests rice.
