(p. 180) enta enta. [Tel. ఏ+అంత] adj. How much. ఇది యెంత పొడుగు how long is this? ఎంత అన్యాయము what injustice! ఈ బంగారమెంత ఉన్నది what is the price (or weight) of this gold? అది యెంత పని what great matter is that? ఎంతమాత్రము how much? ఎంతలో within what price? ఎంతమాత్రము కాదు by no means. అట్లు అనడానకు నేనెంతవాణ్ని who am I that I should say so? నీవెంత ఆయనయెంత? what comparison is there between you and him? నేనెంత చెప్పినా notwithstanding all I could say. ఎంత చెల్లించితే అంత మంచిది the more you pay the better అప్పుడు ఎంత రాత్రియైయుండెను what time of night was it then? ఎంత సేపటికి వచ్చినాడు how long after did he come? ఎంతకు అమ్మినాడు for how much did he sell it? ఎంతమాత్రము కూడనిపని a thing quite out of the question. నీవెంత నేనెంత అని పోట్లాడినారు they scorned or insulted one another. ఎంతటి వారు what sort of persons? ఎంతమంది how many (persons.) The conjunction యు is sometimes added as an intensive. ఎంతయు రయంబున with very great speed ఎంతేని entēni. adv. Ever so much, how much soever. ఎంతైనను. ఎంతైన. how vast, how great, ever so great. ఎంతో much. ఎంతో సంతోషముతో with great joy.

(p. 206) oka oka. [Tel. Not derived from Skt. వొక, as other words denoting the numerals col show, but cognate with it] adj. A, an, one: ఒక్క. ఒక కోవందరు a few or some few. కొండొక some, some little, as కొండొకసేపు a little time. ఒకరీతిగా after a manner. ఒక పని నిమిత్తము about a certain affair. Adding the intensive ఏ it gives the sense of only: thus ఒకే యిల్లు, or ఒక యిల్లే only one house. వారు ఒక చెయ్యిగానున్నారు they are hand in hand, leagued together. ఒకనాడును ఒప్పడు he will never assent. ఇది ఒకలాగున ఉన్నది this is after a fashion, i.e., is odd, such as cannot be defined. నాకు ఒక విశముగానున్నది I feel very queer, I am out of sorts. ఒకప్పుడు at one time, once. ఒకవేళ at one time, perhaps. ఒకవేళ అట్లా చేసినా if he ever does so, in case he does so. ఒకింత or ఒక్కింత okinta. (ఒక+ఇంత) n. So much: a little, some trifle, ever so little.

(p. 416) cinni chinni. [Tel. an intensive of చిన్న.] adj. Little, Pretty మనోజ్ఞమైన. చిన్నిఆకుచెట్టు chinni-āku-cheṭṭu. n. The Birchleaved Acalypha, Acalypha fruticosa. (Watts.) చిన్నిచూపు chinni-ṭsūpu. n. Humiliation, looking downcast or foolish. చిన్నిదము a small flower చిన్నపువ్వు, gold బంగారు. చిన్నిపువు a kind of ornament, or, a salutation నమస్కృతి.

(p. 535) tīru tīru. [Tel.] v. n. To end, stop, cease, elapse. To be finished, ended, complete, or ready. To be paid, delivered, discharged, avenged. To be qualified, accomplished, finished, adorned, trim, decked. To be gratified, satiated, wreaked (as passion;) to be assuaged or allayed, to go off. ముగియు, చిక్కబడు. తనివితీర to the full; so as to satisfy one's desires. తీరలేదు it came to nothing, it was ineffectual. కోరికతీసి having gained his end. ఇది నాచేత తీరదు this is out of my power. నాకు తీరీతీరక ఉన్నది I am hardly at leisure. తీరిపోవు to die. To be practicable, or possible. అక్కడికి రాతీరదు I cannot come there, I have not leisure to come. రాకుంటే తీరదు (you) must positively come. వెళ్లక తీరదు I cannot help going. తీరినగుండెగా నున్నాడు he is quite hackneyed. తీరా tirā. (Root in A of తీరు, with the intensive affix ఆ) adv. Ultimately, at last; fairly; just, merely, in short, simply. తీరా మధ్యాహ్నమయ్యేటప్పటికి when it was high noon. ఆ గోడ తీటా పడ్డది the wall actually fell down. తూరా పండుకొనేటప్పటికి when he was fairly asleep. ఆ సంగతి తీరా బయటపడేటప్పటికి when the matter at last became known. తీరా చెల్లించెను he paid it in full. తీరిక or తీరికె tīrika. n. Leisure. పనిలేక యూరకుండుట. తీరికచిక్కిన having no leisure. Adorning, trimming, decoration. దిద్దడము. తీరిన tīrina adj. Full. finished, accomplished, cured, settled. తీరు. n. Manner, way, mode, fashion, style, arrangement, విధము. Beauty చక్కన. వాడు బకతీరుమనిడషి he is an odd man. వాడుబకతీరుగానున్నాడు ఒకతీరుగానున్నాడు he is but so and so, he is not well, he is not at ease. ఈ తీరు thus. తీరుతప్పి ఉన్నాడు it is all over with him. తీరుగా tirugā. adv. To destroy నాశముచేయు. వాయసముతీర్చినది the crow gave a good omen (by crossing my path from left to right.) కోపమునుతీర్చు to revenge oneself, wreak one's anger. చలముతీర్చు, పగతీర్చు to satiate spite. దాహముతీర్చు to quench thirst. తమిదీర్చి satiating one's lusts. వాని పని తీర్చినారు they settled his business or they ruined him. తీర్చుకొను tīrṭsu-konu. v. a. To end, do away with. To settle or pay up as a debt, &c. తీర్పించు tīrpinṭsu. v. a. To cause to decide, or determine.

(p. 657) nir nir. [Skt.] n. An intensive prefix. Much. మిక్కిలి. Well, బాగుగా. See నిరీక్షించు, నిర్గతము. నిర్ఘోషము. &c.

(p. 816) pō pō. (The infinitive of పోవు) అతడు పోజూచి seeing that he was gone. పో pō. (Imperative of పోవు.) v. n. Go, పొమ్ము. In many places this is a mere expletive, as Go to. (in English). It denotes certainty or disregard, నిశ్చయమును లేక ఆనాదరమును తెలుపును. 'తెచ్చెదంబో వసుదేవమాను.' ఉ. హరి. v. పోక pōka. n. Going. పోవడము. Conduct, behaviour, నడవడి. పోకలు n. plu. Evil ways, wickedness. పోకరింతనములు Foolish wishes, or longings, ముద్దుకోరికలు. 'పల్పోకశృంగారములు.' (T. iii. 81.) very naughty pranks. పోకరిసొగసులు నీవుపోయినదే పోకా are you to be indulged in every thing? వారేమి అదేపోక పోయిరి I am surprised that they did not come back. పోక pōka. for పోవక(neg. p. of పోవు.) Without going. Also for పోకు, i.e., పోవద్దు don't go. (the final A being intensive.) పోకడ pō-kaḍa. n. Going, departure, going off. గమనము, గతి Behaviour, conduct, నడత, ప్రవర్తనము. Riddance. Ruin, నాశము. నెలదినాలుగా రాకడపోకడలేదు there has been no inter course between us for a month (literally going and coming.) పోకడపెట్టు pōkaḍa-peṭṭu. v. a. To drive away, to remove, పోగొట్టు. To sell, అమ్ము. విక్రయించు. దాన్ని ఎట్లైనను పోకడపెట్టు get rid of it in any way. పోకలాడి pōkal-āḍi. (పోకలు+ఆడి) n. A coquette, వగలాడి. 'క చూపట్ట గోమయంబున, జేపట్టొనరించి జడల జెక్కినలింగం, బాపోకలాడి కైకొని వేపికడన్నిలిపిభక్తివివశయు బోలెన్.' S. ii. 49. పోకలాడు pōkal-āḍu. v. n. To be coquettish, to flirt. పోకాడు pōkāḍu. (పోక+ఆడు.) v. n. To go, పోవు. To be done away with, to be destroyed, నశించు. పోకార్చు pōkārṭsu. v. a. To lose, పోగొట్టు, పోగొట్టుకొను. To destroy, ruin. 'రఘుకుమారుడరివర్గము పోకార్చి.' R. iii. 137. పోకాలు pōkālu. v. n. To go, as anger, sorrow, &c. పోవు. పోకరి pōkiri. n. A wicked man, a villain rogue, lewd fellow, blackguard, దుర్మార్గుడు adj. Naughty, wicked, mischievous, unprincipled. పోకరిమాట an obsence word. పోకిళ్లు pōkiḷḷu. n. plu. Idle wishes, fopperies, whims, freaks, whimsies. పోకిళ్లమారి a fop, an epicure.
