(p. 92) avakṣēpamu ava-kshēpamu. [Skt.] n. The act of discarding a thing after finding fault with it. తప్పు మాపి విసర్జించడము. Sarcasm, irony. సోల్లుంఠనము, ఆయములెత్తి ఆడడము, పొడుపుడు మాటలు. అవక్షిప్తము adj. Discarded as faulty, sarcastic, ironical, having an insinuation. తప్పుమోపి విసర్జింపబడినది, సోల్లుంఠనమైన.

(p. 648) ninda ninda. [Skt.] n. Blame, censure, reproach, dishonour. అపవాదము, దూరు. అపదూరు. నిందాస్తుతి nindā-stuti. n. A sneer: ironical praise: irony. నిందాస్పదము nind-āspadamu. adj. Scandalous. slanderous. నిందించు nindinṭsu. v. a. To blame, abuse, vilify, or accuse. దూరు. నిందితుడు nindituḍu. n. One who is censured. నిందింపబడినవాడు, నింద్యుడు one who deserves to be censured. నిందింపదగినవాడు.

(p. 767) puṇyamu puṇyamu. [Skt.] n. Virtue, holiness, merit, excellence, purity. ధర్మము. A good deed, a good or meritorious work or action, a work of supererogation, that which is more than required as a matter of duty. సుకృతము. adj. Virtuous, sacred, holy, pure, righteous. పవిత్రము. Good, excellent, మనోజ్ఞము. Charitable, generous. పుణ్యశ్లోకుడు a celebrated man. పుణ్యకథలు godly legends. పుణ్యకాలము an auspicious time. పుణ్యస్త్రీ (corrupted into పునిస్త్రీ) a happy woman, one whose husband is living. నన్ను ఉత్త పుణ్యానికి కొట్టినాడు he beat me without cause, meaning the same as నిష్కారణముగా. నీపుణ్యముచేత తొందరవచ్చినది (ironical) for this trouble we may thank you. ఇది అంతా మీ పుణ్యము this is all due to you goodness. నీపుణ్యముండును వాని జోలికిమాత్రము పోకు for goodness' sake do not meddle with him. పుణ్యానికి ఇచ్చినపొలము a field granted in free gift. A well known verse says. శ్లోకార్ధేన ప్రవక్ష్యామి యుదక్తం గ్రంథకోటిభిః, పరోపకారః పుణ్యాయపాపాయ పరపీడనం. పుణ్యజనుడు puṇya-januḍu. n. A man of excellence, a holy man, సుజనుడు. A Rākshasa, an evil spirit, రాక్షసుడు. పుణ్యజనేశ్వరుడు puṇya-janēṣvaruḍu. n. Kubēra. పుణ్యబూమి puṇya-bhūmi. n. The Holy land (of the Hindus), i.e., Hindustan, the land between the Himalayas and the Vindhyas. పుణ్యలోకము puṇya-lōkamu. n. Heaven. పుణ్యవంతుడు puṇya-vantuḍu. n. One who is holy or virtuous. ధార్మికుడు, అదృష్టవంతుడు. ఈ విషయములో అతడు చాలా పుణ్యవంతుడు. in this respect he is very lucky. పుణ్యస్త్రీ or పుణ్యాంగన puṇya-strī. n. A good housewife, good woman, lady. పుణ్యాత్ముడు puny-ātmuḍu. n. A holy, pious or charitable person, పుణ్యస్వరూపుడు. పుణ్యాహము puṇy-āhamu. n. A holy or sacred day, పుణ్యదినము. పుణ్యాహవాచనము puṇy-āha-vāchanamu. n. The consecration or hallowing of a ceremony. A ceremonial purification. పుణ్యుడు puṇyudu. n. A holy or virtuous man. పుణ్యులారా O holy men!

(p. 1163) vikatthanamu vikatthanamu. [Skt.] n. Praise, స్తోత్రము. Ironical applause, egotistical boasting, irony, ironical or unmerited praise. మిష. 'పరుషాన్యోన్యవికత్థనంబు.' N. viii. 204.

(p. 1292) satyamu satyamu. [Skt.] n. Truth, veracity, reality. ని౛ము, యథార్థము. An oath, ప్రమాణము, ఒట్టు. (Vulgarly,) the miraculous power of a deity. (పామరలవాడుకలో) మహాత్మ్యము. adj. True, real, sincere, genuine, truthful. యథార్థమైన, ని౛మైన. సత్యప్రవర్తన truthful behaviour, upright conduct. adv. Yes, verily, truly, indeed, నిజమేను. సత్యముగా చెప్పు to avow, to vouch for. సత్యముచేయు to swear. ఈ అమ్మవారు బహుసత్యము కలిగినదేవత this is a true goddess. భగవత్స్వరూపముల యందు సత్యము తప్పినది the gods have now lost their power, the images now ceased to work miracles. సత్యప్రతిజ్ఞ a sincere promise or vow, తప్పనిమాట. సత్యయుగము satya-yugamu. n. The Golden Age. కృతయుగము. సత్యలోకము satya-lōkamu. n. One of the fourteen heavens of the Puranas. సత్యవంతుడు satya-vantuḍu. n. A truthful or sincere man. సత్యవచస్కుడు or సత్యవాది satya-vachaskuḍu. n. One who speaks the truth, a man of veracity. నిజస్థుడు. సత్యవతి satya-vati. n. A truthful woman. సత్యముగల స్త్రీ. The name of the mother of Vyāsa, and the wife of Narada. సత్యవాక్కు or సత్యవాణి satya-vākku. n. A true statement. సత్యవ్రతుడు satya-vratuḍu. n. One who is devoted to truth, one who is sincere or honest. నిజానికి పాటుపడేవాడు, పెద్దమనిషి. సత్యసంధుడు satya-sandhuḍu. n. An upright man. నిజస్థుడు. సత్యహరిశ్చంద్రుడు one who is as truthful as Harischandra, i.e., a very truthful man, (sometimes used ironically also to mean a liar.) సత్యాకృతి, సత్యంకారము or సత్యావనము saty-ākṛiti. n.
