(p. 535) tīru tīru. [Tel.] v. n. To end, stop, cease, elapse. To be finished, ended, complete, or ready. To be paid, delivered, discharged, avenged. To be qualified, accomplished, finished, adorned, trim, decked. To be gratified, satiated, wreaked (as passion;) to be assuaged or allayed, to go off. ముగియు, చిక్కబడు. తనివితీర to the full; so as to satisfy one's desires. తీరలేదు it came to nothing, it was ineffectual. కోరికతీసి having gained his end. ఇది నాచేత తీరదు this is out of my power. నాకు తీరీతీరక ఉన్నది I am hardly at leisure. తీరిపోవు to die. To be practicable, or possible. అక్కడికి రాతీరదు I cannot come there, I have not leisure to come. రాకుంటే తీరదు (you) must positively come. వెళ్లక తీరదు I cannot help going. తీరినగుండెగా నున్నాడు he is quite hackneyed. తీరా tirā. (Root in A of తీరు, with the intensive affix ఆ) adv. Ultimately, at last; fairly; just, merely, in short, simply. తీరా మధ్యాహ్నమయ్యేటప్పటికి when it was high noon. ఆ గోడ తీటా పడ్డది the wall actually fell down. తూరా పండుకొనేటప్పటికి when he was fairly asleep. ఆ సంగతి తీరా బయటపడేటప్పటికి when the matter at last became known. తీరా చెల్లించెను he paid it in full. తీరిక or తీరికె tīrika. n. Leisure. పనిలేక యూరకుండుట. తీరికచిక్కిన having no leisure. Adorning, trimming, decoration. దిద్దడము. తీరిన tīrina adj. Full. finished, accomplished, cured, settled. తీరు. n. Manner, way, mode, fashion, style, arrangement, విధము. Beauty చక్కన. వాడు బకతీరుమనిడషి he is an odd man. వాడుబకతీరుగానున్నాడు ఒకతీరుగానున్నాడు he is but so and so, he is not well, he is not at ease. ఈ తీరు thus. తీరుతప్పి ఉన్నాడు it is all over with him. తీరుగా tirugā. adv. Properly, duly, aright. దాని ముక్కుకండ్లు తీరుగానున్నవి her nose and eyes are pretty. తీరుగడ or తీరుదల tīru-gaḍa. n. Ending. ముగియుట. తీరుపు or తీర్పు tīrupu. n. End, finishing. To destroy నాశముచేయు. వాయసముతీర్చినది the crow gave a good omen (by crossing my path from left to right.) కోపమునుతీర్చు to revenge oneself, wreak one's anger. చలముతీర్చు, పగతీర్చు to satiate spite. దాహముతీర్చు to quench thirst. తమిదీర్చి satiating one's lusts. వాని పని తీర్చినారు they settled his business or they ruined him. తీర్చుకొను tīrṭsu-konu. v. a. To end, do away with. To settle or pay up as a debt, &c. తీర్పించు tīrpinṭsu. v. a. To cause to decide, or determine.

(p. 1139) valayu valayu. [Tel.] v. n. To be liked, desired or wanted. ఇష్టమగు, విహితమగు. To be needful, or necessary, ఆవశ్యకమగు. To be proper, యుక్తమగు. To be surrounded, వలయతమగు. 'మృగమువలయంబారెన్.' పంచ. నా. ii. 'స్వబుద్ధిరాజుకు విశేషింపవలయు' (P. i. 391.) the use of his own judgment is much needed in a king. 'కయ్యమునకు నెయ్యమునకు వియ్యమునకు సమతవలయు.' (ib. ii. 47.) in combat, in inter-marriage, and in friendship equality is wanted; or, there should be a similarity. 'ఔగాములరయవలయు.' (ib. iv. 431.) you should look to the chances of gain or loss, of success or failure. వలె, వలెను, వలసినది or వలయును are added as auxiliaries, to the Root in the Infinitive of any verb; to give the idea of obligation or necessity; నేను ఇమటికి పోవలెను I must go home. నీవు ఇక్కడికి రావలెను you must come here, you should come here, I hope you will come here. తమదయ రావలెను మా దరిద్రము తీరవలెను I hope your favour will come and that my poverty will be removed. ఆయన రేపో ఎల్లుండో రావలెను he must be here tomorrow or the next day, i.e., we expect him here tomorrow or the next day. వాడు దానితమ్ముడుగా ఉండవలెను I suppose he must be her brother. నాకు ఆ పుస్తకము కావలెను I want that book. వాణ్ని చంపియుండవలెను they must have killed him. నీకు అట్లురావలెను this serves you right. నీవు సందేహింపవలసినదిలేదు you need not doubt it, there is no occasion to doubt it. వాణ్ని పిలువవలెనని అక్కడికి వెళ్లితిని I went there to call him. ఈ పని చేయవలెనని పోవుచుండగా as I was going there to do this. జగడమాడవలెనని వస్తివా did you come on purpose (or wanting) to quarrel? వలసి (the past p|| of వలయు.) ఇవ్వవలసి యిస్తిని I paid it, because I had to. 'నిశాచరునుద్యోగంబుచూచుకొనవలసి.' Swa. iv. 163. అట్లు చేయవలసివచ్చును it will become necessary to do so. వలసిన (past part of వలయు) is used as an affix (similar to the Latin-ibilis or endus). చెల్లింపవలసిన సొమ్ము money due, the sum payable. 'వ;సినసంపదల్ గలుగవా.' T. ii. 34. టీ వలసిన, కావలసినటువంటి. వలసె or వలసెను (the past tense of వలయు) it became necessary, or requisite. వానితో చెప్పవలసె I was obliged to tell him. 'వినిపింపరాని కార్యము వినిపింపగవలసె.' Swa. iv. 176. The negative aorist of this, వలవదు, వలదు, See under వలదు.

(p. 1190) vivēkamu vi-vēkamu. [Skt.] n. Discrimination, judgment, the faculty of distinguishing, prudence, discretion, సదసద్వివేచన, విభేదజ్ఞానము, తెలివి. 'వినువివేకమనెడు వింతగొడ్డలిచేత నలయవిద్యయనెడునడవినరికి.' Vema. 341. 'తనవివేకములోకమువారు మెచ్చగా.' T. ii. 38. వివేకములోకమువారు వివేకముకలిగియుండు to come to oneself, reflect, be wise. తెలివి తెచ్చుకొను. వివేకి vi-vēki. n. One who is cautious or prudent. తెలివిగలవాడు. వివేకించు or వివేచించు vi-vēkinṭsu. v. a. To reason, discriminate, distinguish. విమర్శచేయు, విచారించు, వివేచనచేయు. 'చదువులన్ని జదివి చాలవివేకింప కపటికెన్ననేలకలుగుముక్తి.' Vema. 429. వివేదన or వివేచనము vi-vēchaṇa. n. Discrimination, examination, investigation. విమర్శ, విచారణ. వర్ణవివేచన discrimination of caste.
