(p. 27) acumbitamu a-chumbitamu. [Skt.] adj. Lit: Not kissed; untouched; unattainable. 'అచుంబితభావము.' T. ii. 60. ఇది అచుంబితమైన విషయము this is an unattainable subject.

(p. 73) abhramu abhramu. [Skt.] n. The sky, a cloud. ఆకాశము, మేఘము. అభ్రంకషము heaven-kissing, sky-touching. అభ్రగము abhragamu. [Skt.] n. A sky-rover, i.e., a bird. పక్షి. అభ్రగపతి the eagle as being the king of birds. గరుడుడు. అభ్రమణి abhra-maṇi. [Skt.] n. The gem of the sky, i.e., the sun. సూర్యుడు.

(p. 122) āru āru. [Tel.] v. n. To teem with, be full of నిండు; to be or have. సొంపారిన beautiful. ఇంపారిన delightful. నిండారుగానున్నది it is full. అలరారు blooming. చెన్నారిన lovely. పొల్పారిన charming (compare the affix ఆరి as నేర్పరి, సొంపరి, &c.) గోజారు to trouble. సొంపారు to bloom, to be pretty. In such phrases as నూరారు వెయ్యారు the word అరు is not the numeral six, but is a form of అరు to be full; so వెయ్యారు means full thousand and నూరారు full a hundred. నూరారుముద్దులు a full hundred kisses. చేతులారంగ శివుని పూజింపడేని if he sacrifice not to Siva with his own hands. చేతులార రూకలు చెల్లిస్తిని I paid the money with my own hands. పని ఆరుమూడు అయినది the work is all in confusion, at sixes and sevens.

(p. 216) osagu or ఒసంగు osagu. [Tel.] v. a. To give. ముద్దొసగు to give a kiss. ముద్దులొసంగు నీ మొగము your beautiful face. ఒసగు n. A gift ఈని, త్యాగము.

(p. 285) kissumanu kissu-m-anu. [Tel.] n. To growl.

(p. 438) candamāma ṭsanda-māma. [Tel.] n. The moon. The yolk of an egg. సొన. చందమామ గ్రుక్కిళ్లు or చంచమామగుటకలు kissing or smacking the lips as a sign of being stricken with love. అధరామృతము. శశాం. v. చందమామపక్కె ṭsandamāma-pakke. n. (p. 425) cumbanamu chumbanamu. [Skt.] n. A kiss: ముద్దు. చుంబించు chumbinṭsu. v. n. To kiss: ముద్దుపెట్టుకొను, చుంబకుడు one who kisses; a superficial student.

(p. 610) dontara or దొంతి dontara. [Tel.] n. A series. వరుస. A heap, or set of things, as a pile of pots or cups and saucers. adj. Lying in a series, వరుసగానున్న. adv. In a pile or heap. దొంతరముద్దులు kiss upon kiss. దొంతరజల్లిబొంత a patched quilt. దొంతరవిడెము betel leaves strung together. దొంతరగావేసిన strung, piled. పెంకులను దొంతరలుగాపేర్చు to pile up the tiles in rows. వలపులదొంతి she was a 'bundle' of charms. దొంతిగా tier over tier, range over range.

(p. 738) pādamu pādamu. [Skt.] n. A foot. అడుగు. A root, వేరు. A quarter, పాతిక. A foot or line of verse being a quarter of a stanza. పద్యములో నాలుగవభాగము. A ray of light, కిరణము. A small hill at the foot of a mountain. కొండదరి దిబ్బ. తమ పాదాలనే నమ్మివచ్చినాను I came in reliance on your honour as my protector. This is a mere conversational compliment, like 'I kiss your hands' in Spanish. పాదతీర్థము water made holy by washing a saint's feet. పాదపద్మములు lotus-like feet. పాదలాక్ష red paint for the feet of women, పారాణి. తమపాదాలసముఖానకు నా కుమారుణ్ని తెచ్చి అప్పగిస్తున్నాను permit me to introduce my son to your honour's protection. వాడు తండ్రిపాదాలమీద పడెను he fell on his father's feet. తమపాదాలవద్ద before your honour, in your presence. తమపాదాల శరణుచొచ్చినాను I throw myself on your goodness. పాదచారి pāda-chāri. n. A foot passenger. కాలిబంటు. One who goes walking, నడచి పోవువాడు. పాదజుడు pādajuḍu. n. A Sudra, because born from the feet of Brahma. పాదత్రాణము pāda-trāṇamu. n. A shoe or boot. పైజారు. పాదపము pādapamu. n. A tree. పాదపూర్ణము pāda-pūrṇamu. n. An unnecessary word inserted in verse, to fill up the measure, such as in Sanskrit the words తు, హి, చ, స్మ, హి, వై, or, in Telugu poetry the words, ఒగి, తగ, మరి, ఇల, మహి , or verbs, చెలగు, ఒప్పు, &c. పాదరసము pāda-rasamu. n. Quick-silver, mercury. రసము. పాదలి pādali. n. A base or low man, అధముడు. 'పాపపు విప్రుని పనికిగామున్ను, తాపికాడైన పాదలిమందడీడు.' HD. iii. 110.

(p. 1004) muddu muddu. [Tel.] n. A kiss. చంబనము. Sweetness, fondness, delight; caressing, toying. మనోజ్ఞత, చిన్నవాండ్లయందలి ప్రేమ. ముద్దుచూపు to show love. ముద్దుపెట్టుకొను muddu-peṭṭu-konu. v. a. To kiss, చుంబనముచేయు. ముద్దాడు or ముద్దులాడు mudḍ-āḍu. v. a. To caress, to fondle, లాలనముచేయు, ఆదరించు. ముద్దిచ్చు, ముద్దిడు or ముద్దుపెట్టు to give a kiss. దాన్ని చూస్తే ముద్దువస్తున్నది I am delighted to see her, she is very charming. ఆ బిడ్డ ముద్దులు మూట కట్టుచున్నది the child is a lump of charms, a perfect beauty. ముద్దులతమ్ముడు my ḍaṛling little brother. ముద్దయ్య an epithet of Kumaraswami. ముద్దులయ్య my sweet lord. ప్రయోగముల ముద్దు కనుక్కొనడము మహాకష్టము it is very difficult to perceive the niceties (or delicacies) of local adaptation or meaning. కాకిపిల్ల కాకికి ముద్దుకాదా surely the crow's chick is dear to the crow, i.e., every beggar will love her brat. adj. Darling, pet, sweet, charming, lovely, dear. నాముద్దుసుతుడు my beloved son, my darling boy. ముద్దు పేరు a pet name. ముద్టుటుంగరము or ముదుటుంగరము a pet ring, worn on the little finger, a signet ring. ముద్దుమాటలు sweet words. ముద్దుమొగము a sweet face. ముద్దుగా muddu-gā. adv. Charmingly, tastily. అందముగా. ముద్దులగుమ్మ muddula-gumma. n. A beauty, a charming woman. ముద్దులాడి or ముద్దురాలు muddulāḍi. n. A charming woman, ముద్దులుగులికే స్త్రీ, మనోజ్ఞురాలు. ముద్దులాడు muddulāḍu. n. A charming or pleasant man, మనోజ్ఞుడు.
