(p. 7) añjanamu anjanamu. [Skt.] n. Lamp-black, collyrium, eyesalve, the magic ointment used for the purpose of discovering anything that is concealed. కాటుక. అంజనకాడు a conjurer, he who finds that which is concealed by putting this ointment on his hand or on his eyelashes. అంజనమువేసి చూచు to search for hidden things.

(p. 21) akṣi akshi. [Skt.] n. An eye. కన్ను. మదిరాక్షి a woman: (lit.) she who is tipsy eyed. అక్షితార, the pupil of the eye. అక్షిపక్ష్మము, the eye-lash, రెప్పవెండ్రుకలు, అక్షిపటలము a coat of the eye. అక్షిభ్రువము = the eyebrow, అక్షిగోళము akshi-gōḷamu. [Skt.] n. The eyeball.

(p. 40) atalaṣu atalashu. [H.] Satin, formerly called in Europe 'Atlas' or Damask. అతలఘుకర్ర satin wood, or a sort of timber resembling mahogany.

(p. 71) abhilaṣiñcu abhi-lashinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To desire, wish. కోరు, అభిలాష n. Desire. wish, inclination. ఇచ్ఛ, కోరిక, ఆశ, అభిలాషకలవాడై being inclined.వానికి అభిలాషలేనందున as he was disinclined. అభిలాషి n. He who loves. కోరిక గలవాడు, ఇచ్చగలవాడు, ధర్మాభిలాషి he who loves justice.

(p. 224) kañcukaṇṭu kanṭsu-kanṭu. [Tel.] n. A frying pan. బాణలి. కంచుమించు kanṭsu-minṭsu. n. A sort of toe-ring. adj. Invisible, out of sight అగోచరము., In some places it is the name of the hawk. కంచుమించుగా kanṭsu-minṭsu-gā. adv. Rapidly, like a flash. కంచుమించులై, చెల్లాకుచెదరై. R. V. 303.

(p. 235) kaḍalukonu or కడల్కొను kaḍalu-konu. [Tel.] v. n. To gleam, to flash, flicker, as light. 'చెక్కుల కర్ణకుండలకాతి కడలుకొనగ' B. VIII. 450. The brilliancy of the earrings flashed over her polished cheeks. To increase or spread or extend. వ్యాపించు, కడలొత్తు. To spread వ్యాపించు.

(p. 241) kanureppa kanu-reppa. [Tel.] n. The eyelid. కనురెప్ప పాటులో in the twinkling of an eye. కనురెప్ప వెంట్రుకలు The eyelashes.

(p. 243) kanya , కన్యక, కన్నియ or కన్నె kanya. [Skt.] n. A virgin, a maiden. పెండ్లికాని పడుచు. Daughter కూతురు. A maiden, a damsel. ఆడుది. The sign Virgo. adj. 1. New కొత్త. కన్నెమెరుగు new or fresh flash of lightning 2. Young or small. కన్నెకయ్యము the onset in a battle యుద్ధారంభము. కన్నెబావి a poor well, one not abounding in water. కన్నెబెబ్బుతితోలు the skin of a young tiger. కన్నెమావి a young mango tree. కన్యతనము or కన్యాత్వము kanya-tanamu. n. Maidenhood.

(p. 245) kabaḷamu kabaḷamu. [Skt.] n. A mouthful, a bolus. వాని నోరు మూయడమునకు ఒక కబళము వేసిరి they gave him a sop to make him hold his tongue. కబళించు kabaḷinṭsu. v. a. To swallow, devour. To snatch, seize. To pervade (as sparks or flashes do the sky.) మింగు, పట్టుకొను, వ్యాపించు.

(p. 318) kodama kodama. [Tel.] adj. Young. Hard. ధృఢమైన. కొదమసింగము or సింగపుకొదమ a young lion. కొదమతుమ్మెద or తేటికొదమ a young bee. కొదిమపిడుగు a fierce flash of lightning. n. A young animal, a cub. పశుపక్ష్యాదులపిల్ల. A female lamb or kid. ఆడుమేకపిల్ల.
