(p. 206) oka oka. [Tel. Not derived from Skt. వొక, as other words denoting the numerals col show, but cognate with it] adj. A, an, one: ఒక్క. ఒక కోవందరు a few or some few. కొండొక some, some little, as కొండొకసేపు a little time. ఒకరీతిగా after a manner. ఒక పని నిమిత్తము about a certain affair. Adding the intensive ఏ it gives the sense of only: thus ఒకే యిల్లు, or ఒక యిల్లే only one house. వారు ఒక చెయ్యిగానున్నారు they are hand in hand, leagued together. ఒకనాడును ఒప్పడు he will never assent. ఇది ఒకలాగున ఉన్నది this is after a fashion, i.e., is odd, such as cannot be defined. నాకు ఒక విశముగానున్నది I feel very queer, I am out of sorts. ఒకప్పుడు at one time, once. ఒకవేళ at one time, perhaps. ఒకవేళ అట్లా చేసినా if he ever does so, in case he does so. ఒకింత or ఒక్కింత okinta. (ఒక+ఇంత) n. So much: a little, some trifle, ever so little.

(p. 214) oḷavu oḷavu. [Tel.] n. Secret intelligence మర్మము, రహస్యము. The neck of a stringed instrument వీణాదండము. ఒళవుగానుండే underhand లోకువైన. ఒళవుగానుండేవాడు an accomplice, a traitor. వారు వానికి ఒళవుగానుండినారు they were leagued with him.

The crop or fruit. కాపుడిగినచెట్టు a tree that is past bearing. కండ్లకు రెప్పలు కాపుగానున్నవి the eyelids are a protection to the eyes. కాపు ఉంచు to place a guard. కాపు or కాపువాడు n. A tenant. A farmer, a cultivator. A rustic or countryman. A person, an individual, a dweller. మంచు కొండకాపు or హిమాచలవాసి. B.D. iv. 1963. కావత. kāpata. n. A country girl, a rustic. The female of కాపు. కాపుతనము kāpu-tanamu. n. The rustic condition, the state of farmers. ఈ కాపుతనమును విడిచిపెట్టడము మేలు it would be better to give up the farming business. కాపుది A woman of the farming caste, a female rustic.

(p. 574) daṇṭa danṭa. [Tel.] n. A match, or equal, ౛ంట. A rival, a competitor. A couple or pair. A hero, a genius సమర్థుడు. A dashing or spirted man or woman దిట్టతనము గలవాడు, దిట్టతనముగలది, నేర్పరి. adj. Rival: two, coupled, as twins; spirted, unrivalled. ప్రౌఢమైన. దంటతనము danṭa-tanamu. n. (p. 1303) samuru samutu. [H.] n. A combination or league, a strike among workmen. కట్టుపాటు. 'ఒక యేకాదశి నాటరేయిసముతైయున్నట్లు రోవెట్టటువేడుకకుంరాకయు.' Vaij. ii. 87. సముతుకట్టు samutu-kaṭṭu. v. n. To strike work, కట్టుకట్టు. సముతుపడు to be caught, to yeild, పట్టుబడు, సముతుపరుచు to cause to yeild.
