(p. 3) aṅkiḷlu or అంకులు ankiḷḷu. [Tel. from అంగిలి+కీళ్లు] n. plu. The joints of the cheek bones; the maxillary joints. అతనికి అంకిళ్లు పడిపోయినవి he has lock-jaw.

(p. 4) aṅke anke. [Tel.] n. A numerical figure అంకము. Opportunity, time. One pack, half a bullock load. A form of అణక. Bringing the yoke under the neck, as by a troublesome bullock. ఎద్దులు అంకె వేసికొన్నవి the bullocks turned restive, bringing the yoke under the neck. A command, authority, control, restraint, check. అంకెగొను v. i. To cover oneself with కప్పుకొను. అంకెచేయు v. i. To obstruct అడ్డగించు.అంకెకురాని,(భాస్క.2.) ungovernable. అంకెకురావు, అనగా అక్కరకురావు they will not be of any use. అంకెవేసికొను or అణకవేసికొను v. n. To be restive, as a bullock in the yoke. ఎద్దయకాడికెదురు తిరుగుట. నాడు తేపతేపకు అంకెవేసికొనును. he turns restive every now and then.

(p. 4) aṅkemu ankemu. [Tel.] n. A stirrup రికాబు. One pack or pannier, being half a bullock load.

(p. 9) aṇḍemu anḍemu. [Tel.] n. One pannier or pack: half a bullock load. కంట్లములో నొకభాగము, బరువులో సగము. అంకెము.

(p. 107) akīrṇamu ā-kīrṇamu. [Skt.] adj. Sprinkled, scattered. Also dishevelled, loose, as locks.

(p. 39) aṇaka aṇaka. [Tel.] n. The act of bringing the yoke under the neck. అణకలు వేసికొను v. n. To go wrong, turn restive, as a bullock which turns the wrong way in the yoke. ఎద్దుగాని గుర్రముగాని నోగ కెదురు తిరుగు. 'వెగడొందిరవితేరి నమొగలగట్టినయట్టి వాహంబు లణకలువైచికొనియె.' విక్ర iv. 51. తిన్నగా జరగనీయక మటిమాటికి అణకలు వేసికొంటాడు instead of going on smoothly he now and then turns restive.

(p. 77) araka araka. [Tel.] n. A plough with bullocks complete. సర్వావయవములుగల నాగటికి ఎడ్లను పూనినది. అరకలుకట్టు to harness a team. అరకలువిప్పు to unyoke the cattle. ఒక యెద్దు చనిపోయినది, అరకసాగక తొందరగానున్నది I cannot carry on my ploughing well as one of my bullocks is dead. అరకట్టరక a plough with a pair of bullocks. విడిచికట్టరక a plough with a change of bullocks. అరకాడు ara-kāḍu. (from అరక+కాడు) n. A cultivator, a ryot.

(p. 85) arru arru. [Tel.] n. The neck. కంఠము, పశుజాతి, మెడపంపు, కుతిక, ఆపద, హాని. A sore on a bullock's neck occasioned by ploughing. ఆ యెద్దు యొక్క అర్రు కొట్టు కొనిపోయినది the bullock's neck is hurt (by the yoke.) 'అందని ఫలముల కర్రుచాపగనేల.' Kalahasti.

(p. 97) avivēkamu a-vivēkamu. [Skt.] n. Want of sense or judgement, absence of discrimination, ignorance, imprudence, blindness of heart, folly, తెలివిలేమి, అవివేకము adj. Undiscriminating. foolish, blundering. తెలివిలేని. అవివేకి a-vivēki. n. A fool, a blockhead. తెలివిలేనివాడు.

(p. 97) avyaktuḍu a-vyaktuḍu. [Skt.] n. A block head, one who is ignorant or stupid. మూర్ఖుడు, మూఢుడు, అవ్యక్తులు the ignorant. అవ్యక్తురాలు avyaktu-rālu n. An ignorant woman. మూర్ఖురాలు, మూఢురాలు.

(p. 102) asimi asimi. [Tel.] n. A bag placed on the back of a bullock to carry things. ఎద్దు మీద వేయు గోనె వలె కుట్టిన సంచి. అసిమి గొల్లెన asimi-gollena. [Tel.] n. A kind of small tent. ఇరుప్రక్కలను వంపుగా శాలువలె నేర్పరిచిన చిన్నగుడారము. 'మునుపుగానేగియసి మిగొల్లెనలుపన్ని' కళా viii.

(p. 109) āgu āgu. [Tel.] v. n. To stop, to stay, asbtain, refrain. To bear (as a cord does a weight.) To be confined, set aside, or reserved. ఆయింటను ఆగబడి యున్నదేవకి (B. X. 75.) Devaki who was kept in restraint. తల్లిదండ్రులులెని బాలురు ఆగ నీవు దిక్కు thou art the refuge of the helpless. పశువులకు ఆరినబీడు land set aside or reserved for pasture. ఇది లేనిది నాకు ఆగదు I cannot get on without this. నా నోటిలో ఆ మాట ఆగదు I cannot keep that word a secret. ఆగు, ఆగించు, ఆచు, ఆపు the causal of ఆగు: āgu. [Tel.] v. t. To stop, check, hinder. To keep, tend. To look to, superintend, guard, protect, preserve. To fold or gather as a flock. నోరాచి మాట్లాడిరి they spoke cautiously. చెయ్యి ఆపక (T. v. 22.) without intermission. నిద్ర ఆచుట to refrain from sleep, keep away drowsiness. రాత్రిళ్లు ఇక్కడ మందులు ఆచుకొని యుండేవారు they used to keep cattle here at nights.

(p. 176) ūyu ūyu. [Tel.] v. n. To whistle. ఎద్దుల నూసినారు. They whistled the bullocks on.

(p. 181) ekkiriñcu ekkirinṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To make faces at, to mock, to gibe at వెక్కిరించు. ఎక్కిరింపబోయి వెలికిలబడెను he went to gibe but met with a fall. ఎక్కిరింత ekkirinta. n. Mockery, making faces. A vehicle. వాహనము. ఎక్కిరింతయెద్దు a saddle bullock. ఎక్కిరింతపక్కి the eagle on which Vishṇu rides. A. vi. 183. R. i. 145.

(p. 181) ekku ekku. [Tel.] v. a. & n. To rise, increase, swell. To appear (by its effects as wine, water, poison, or medicine.) To affect the mind. To prevail as a report; to come to notice వాని తలకు మదము ఎక్కినది he is beside himself with pride or lust. వానికి మత్తెక్కినది he is intoxicated. వడ్డియెక్కినది interest has accrued. ఎక్కినవడ్డి the interest that accrued. వాని దుష్టగుణములు నీకు ఎక్కినవి you have caught his bad habits, or, followed his example. వార్తకెక్కు to become the theme or topic of discourse. వన్నెకెక్కినాడు he became celebrated, rose to distinction. వాసికెక్కిన celebrated, honoured. ఎన్నికకెక్కినాడు one who has risen to reputation. పది గంటలపొద్దు ఎక్కిన వేళ when it was ten o'clock, lit. when the sun has mounted (to) ten hours. ఆ పనికి ఎవరును ఎక్కలేదు no one came forward, or volunteered for the business. అతని మాట యెక్కదు his word will not do, or avail. తలకు నీళ్లెక్కి ౛లుబుగానున్నది the water has got into the head and I have a cold. To mount on, get upon. మంచమెక్కు to take to one's bed. ఎక్కుకొను ekku-konu. v. a. To mount on ఆరోహించు.
