(p. 28) acciuṇḍu acchi-unḍu. [Tel.] v. i. To be indebted to. వాడికి అది అచ్చిఉండి యిచ్చినాను it was my bad luck and I had to give it to him. See. అచ్చు.

(p. 28) accivaccu acchi-vaṭṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To be cheap. To prosper, be advantageous. మేలగు, కలిసివచ్చు. వానికి గుర్రములు అచ్చిరావు he has no luck in horse flesh. ఆ యిల్లు మాకు అచ్చివచ్చినది. we got the house cheap, or we have prospered in that house. See. అచ్చి ఉండు.

(p. 29) accudala or అచ్చుబాటు aṭṭsu-dala. [Tel.] n. Debt. ఋణముతగులుట. వానికి ఆవులు అచ్చుదలలేదు (lit: the cattle do not owe him anything) he has no luck in cattle.

(p. 44) adṛṣṭamu a-drishṭamu. [Skt.] n. Fortune, luck, chance, fate. భాగ్యము దురదృష్టము bad luck. అదృష్టవంతుడు or అదృష్టశాలి or అదృష్టపురుషుడు a fortunate man. అదృష్టహీనుడు an unfortunate man. అదృష్టఫలము the consequence of (one's) good luck.

(p. 50) anayamu anayamu. [Skt.] n. Ill-luck, bad fortune; calamity. Vice, transgression. నీతికానిది, అశుభము, వ్యసనము, విపత్తు.

(p. 61) apacayamu apa-chayamu. [Skt.] n. Loss, detriment. The act of plucking flowers. హాని, అపహారము, పువ్వులు కోయడము. పుష్పాపచయము (Swa. iv. 116.) gathering flowers.

(p. 67) abbu abbu. [Tel.] v. n. To come into one's enjoyment, possession, or reach; be obtained or gained. చిక్కు, దొరుకు, లభించు. ప్రాప్తించు. ఇది వీనికి అబ్బేసొమ్ము కాదు the luck is too good to last; that is, he is not worthy of such good fortune, and it will not stick by him. దీన్ని వానికి అబ్బనియ్యరు they will prevent his getting it.

(p. 68) abhāgyamu a-bhāgyamu. [Skt.] adj. Unfortunate, luckless, wretched. దౌర్భాగ్యమైన, దురదృష్టమైన.

(p. 153) uḍumu uḍumu. [Tel.] n. The iguana గోధ; గోధిక. ఉడుపపిల్ల the young iguana. ఉడుము పోయినా చెయ్యి వదిలించుకొని రావలెను. if you catch an iguana, you are lucky if you get your hand off it.

(p. 164) uppata uppata. [Tel.] n. Betraying; divulging a secret; dilating on any man's extraordinary prosperity, qualifications or beauty of any person. రద్ది, రట్టు, రన్వ, ఒకని మేలున కోర్వలేక ఆడిపోసికొనుట. అది నిండా ఉప్పతగానున్నది it is the common talk of the town. ఉప్పతకారాదు to be the talk of the town is unlucky. ఉప్పతించు uppatinṭsu. v. a. To abuse through envy. ఓర్వక ఆడిపోసికొను.

(p. 188) enucu or ఎనుపు enuṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To mix, mingle, stir up. To think ఎంచు. To nip, pluck, twitch off చిదుపు.

(p. 188) enupuḍu enupuḍu. [Tel.] n. Mixing, mingling, stirring up, nipping, gathering, plucking. ఎనుచుట.

(p. 212) ommika ommika. [Tel. from ఒమ్ము] n. Suitability, fitness. ఇమిడిక, పొందిక. ఒమ్మివచ్చు ommivaṭṭsu. v. n. To prosper, to thrive అచ్చివచ్చు. పశువులు ఇతనికి ఒమ్మిరాలేదు he had no good luck in cattle; his cattle did not turn out well. అతనికి జీడి ఒమ్మి ఉంటుంది the jīḍi milk agrees well with him.

(p. 215) oluku oluku. [Tel.] v. n. To spill, చించు; overflow, to be shed (as tears) or spilt; to flow కారు; To be dropped, పాలలో నెయ్యి ఒలికినట్లు as ghee gushes forth from milk, i.e., luck upon luck. v. a. To sprinkle చల్లు; to pour పోయు.

(p. 275) kāru kāru. [Tel.] adj. Black or jet black. కారుమొగులు a black cloud. కారుకమ్ములు black wires కారునువ్వులు the seeds of the black sesamum. Brackish. చవుడు. కారునీళ్లు brackish water. కారునేల saline soil. కారుసముద్రము the salt sea. కారుప్పు bitter salt. కారుఇంగువ stale asafœtida. Withered. కారాకులు withered leaves. Astringent వగరైన. కసుగాయదెంచిన కారగుగాక if you pluck a fruit raw, is it not sour? Wild. కారెనుము kār-enumu. Bos gaurus. The Gaur. (F.B.I.) కారు దున్న, కారుపోతు a wild he buffalo, or bison. Great, big. కారుటెలుగు, a loud cry. పెద్దబొబ్బలు,. కారువాసన a strong smell, a stale smell. కారుకూతలు rude language. కారుమొసలి a wild crocodile or alligator. కారుకొను or కార్కొను kāru-konu. v. i. To blacken. నల్లబారు. To be noisy సందడించు.
