(p. 152) uṭhāvuṭhi or హుఠా హుఠి uṭhā-huṭhi. [H.] n. Hastiness. అతిత్వర. ఉఠావుఠిపయనము a forced march. ఉఠావుఠిగా వచ్చి చేరిరి they arrived in a great hurry.

(p. 247) kamānu kamānu. [H.] n. An arch, a bow. The spring of a carriage. విల్లు, విల్లువంపు కట్టడము. కమానుకర్ర kamānu-karra. n. The bow of a drill. కమానుబద్ద kamānu-badda. n. The spring of a watch. కమాన్్దస్తా kamān-dastā. n. A large bow for cleaning cotton. కమాను (from Fr. command) a march or military journey ఒకతుకిడీగా సిపాయిలు పోవడము. కమానుపోవు kamānu-pōvu (used by servants of Europeans) to go on circuit.

(p. 284) kilakila kila-kila. [Tel.] n. Din, hubbub, clamour, uproar, as of a marching host. Twittering, as of birds: any confused sound. కిలకిల్లాడు, కిలకిలలాడు to be clamorous కిలకిలధ్వనిచేయు.

(p. 302) kūci kūchi. [Tel.] adj. Sharp, sharp pointed. వాడియైన. కూచిచేయు kūchi-chēyu. v. n. To march as an army. దండు ప్రయాణమగు. కూచిమతము kūchi-matama. [Tel.] n. Name of a sect among the Sātānis. సాతానులలో నొకమతము.

(p. 355) gati gati. [Skt.] n. Way. త్రోవ. Going, gait, pace, march, passage. గమనము. Means, resource, fund, contrivance, expedient, remedy. ఉపాయము. Refuge, resort, help, aid. దిక్కు. Fate, lot, destiny, state, hap, condition, situation. విధి. An adventure. (In the Līla, the different cantos are called గతులు.) Salvation, rescue రక్షణము. Ability, power శక్తి. నాగతి యేమి what is to become of me? ఇందుకు వేరేగతి ఉన్నది for this there is another remedy. దైవగతి divine providence. గతిలేని helpless, destitute, abject. వానికి దానిని చెల్లించుటకు గతిలేదు he is unable to pay it, he is without means of payment. పుత్రుడులేనివారికి గతిలేదు the childless have no hope (or prospect) of heaven. పటుగతి strongly దిట్టముగా. గతించు gatinṭsu. v. n. To pass away, elapse, కడచు. To die. చచ్చు. గతికల్పించు to devise an expedient. గతికుడు gatikuḍu. n. He who has a resource. అనన్యగతికుడై having no other resource. గతుడు gatuḍu. n. One who is gone or entered. ఆనందాబ్ధిగతుండనై I plunged in a sea of bliss. గత్యంతరము gat-y-antaramu. n. An alternative: an other means, or resource.

(p. 357) gamanamu gamanamu. [Skt.] n. Going, a march, journey పోక, ప్రయాణము. Attention. గురి. Intention తలపు. సహగమనము, lit. 'Accompanying.' The burning a Hindu widow alive with her deceased husband. 'ఉ సంగరముంగరంబుగమనంబున భావనసేయరైరి.' నై. iii.

(p. 511) taralu or తర్లు taralu. [Tel.] v. n. To set out or start. ప్రయాణమగు. To stir, move, proceed. చలించు, సంభ్రమించు. In music తర్లి means Da Capo, recommence: again. v. a. To lose, let go. విడుచు. తరలకు ధైర్యంబు do not lose heart తరలకచూచు to view steadily, without intermission. 'ధనరాసి యిచ్చోట తరలకనిత్తు.' (HD. ii. 1492) I will give the money here without fail. తరలించు or తగ్గించు tara-linṭsu. v. t. To cause to move, or march. Vasu. iii. 165. Chenna iii. 143. తరలుచు or తరల్చు to set free విడిపించు.

(p. 842) prasthānamu pra-sthānamu. [Skt.] n. A setting out upon a journey. ప్రయాణము, తర్లిపోవడము. M. IV. i. 137. M. XII. iii. 307. ప్రస్థానభేరి the great drum sounded when a march commences.

(p. 1055) yātra yātra. [Skt.] n. Going, moving, proceeding, marching, travelling, పోవుట. A journey, march, expedition, voyage. Going on piligrimage, a pilgrimage, పుణ్యక్షేత్రములకు పోవుట. Whiling away the time, కాలము పుచ్చుట. యాపనము. దేహయాత్ర subsistence. 'భిక్షమెత్తి పరితోషమునంభు జియించి దేహయాత్రాకుశలంబుగైకొనుటధర్మము భిక్షునకున్.' Vish. iv. 181. నీచేతిమాత్ర వైకుంఠయాత్ర a pill from you is a pass to heaven.

(p. 1284) saṃsaraṇamu sam-saranamu. [Skt.] n. A highway. రాజమార్గము, బాట. Going, the progress or march of troops. అసంబాధచమూగతి, ఇరుకులేక దండునడుచుట, పురనిర్గమము, రణారంభము. A city gate, గవను, పురద్వారము. Married life, సంసారము. 'సంసరణేతరచిత్తుడు.' (P. iv. 451.) టీ సంసారమునకు అన్యమైన మనస్సుగలవాడు.

(p. 1320) sāgu or చాగు sāgu. [Tel.] v. n. To go on, proceed, get on, advance, continue, be current, be usual. To lengthen, to extend, as hot iron under the hammer. To take effect. To begin, నడుచు, జరుగు, దీర్ఘమగు, నిడుపగు, ఆరంభించు. n. A spit or iron lance, a short arrow thrown from the hand, అడుగున త్రాడుకట్టినకటారి, అలుగు వంటి ఆయుధవిశేషము. Cultivation, tillage. కృషి, వ్యవసాయము. దండుసాగుచుండగా when the army was marching. పని సాగలేదు the business does not go on or proceed. అతని మాట సాగలేదు his word did not take effect. కమ్మిపాగలేదు the wire could not be drawn out or lengthened. ఆ ఉత్సవము సాగుచున్నదా is the feast still kept up? దానికోరిక కొనసాగినది her wish is fulfilled. చెప్పసాగినది she went on to say. ఇది లేకుండా నాకు సాగదు I cannot get on without this. అక్కడ సాగకవస్తిని as I could not subsist there I came away. సాగుపాటు sāgu-pāṭu. n. Means of getting on, livelihood. జరుగుపాటు. సాగుబడి sāgu-baḍi. n. Cultivation. వ్యవసాయము. plu. సాగుబళ్లు. సాగగొట్టు sāga-goṭṭu. v. a. To hammer, out, extend or draw out (by heating a rod of iron, gold, etc.) పొడుగగునట్లుగా కొట్టు, సాగదీయు sāga-dīyu. v. a. To extend, stretch out, draw out, lengthen, పొడుగగునట్టుగా లాగు. To importune, మిక్కిలి ప్రార్థించు, బతిమాలుకొను. వాణ్ని ఎంత సాగదీసినా పోనన్నాడు however much I urged him he said he would not go. సాగనంపు sāga-n-ampu. v. a. To send away, to send one on, to set a traveller on his way, to convey or accompany one for a little distance. జపించు. సాగబడు or సాగిలబడు sāga-baḍu. v. n. To fall down at full length, flat or prostrate. సాష్టాంగపడు. 'సాగబడి మ్రొక్కిన శౌరికృ పార్ద్రచిత్తుడై.' Parij. v. 48. సాగించు sāginṭsu. v. a. To conduct, carry on (a business.) To celebrate (a feast.) జరుపు. కీళ్లుసాగించినారు they performed the swinging feast.

(p. 1390) huṭāhuṭi huṭā-huṭi. [Tel.] n. Swiftness, haste. వేగము, గమనవేగము. adj. Rapid, quick, తీవ్రమైన, వడియైన. 'తవఠవలేకరుగుదుము హుటాహుటినడలన్.' Swa. i. 38. 'హుటాహుటినాట్యముసల్ప.' H. ii. 191. హుటాహుటి ప్రయాణము a forced march. హుటాహుటి or హుటాహుటిన్ huṭā-huṭi. adv. Rapidly, quickly, hurriedly. శీఘ్రముగా, వేగముగా, త్వరగా.
