Wet, damp, moist. తడిబట్ట a wet cloth. తడిగుడ్డతో గొంతుకోసినాడు he cut his throat with a damp cloth, that is, he ruined him by fair and gentle means; hanging a man with a silken halter. తడిపొడి slightly wet. తడిపడు taḍi-paḍu. v. n. To be moist. తడియొత్తు taḍi-y-ottu. n. A towel, a napkin తడితుడుచుకొనుగుడ్డ. తడియు taḍiyu. v. n. To be wet, to get wet. తడుపు it is wet తడపి ఉన్నాడు he is wet తడువు taḍupu v. a. To moisten or wet. తడియజేయు. n. A modesty piece or loin cloth. గోచి. తడుపుదాలుపు a bachelor బ్రహ్మచారి. A towel చిన్నగుడ్డ. adj. Wet (as a cloth) తడిసిన (గుడ్డ.) తడిపించు taḍipinṭsu. v. a. To cause to become wet, వానిచేత ఈ బట్ట తడిపించు you must make him wet the cloth.

(p. 677) neyyi , నేయి or నెయి neyyi. [Tel.] n. Butter which has been melted and clarified, ghee. ఘృతము. Any unctuous juice, grease, oil, or fluid: In cookery it is equivalent to ' stock,' or lard. నేతులు the pus from sores. నేతతడుపు to moisten. 'నెయ్గూరలు' (A. vi. 94.) vegetables that are fried. పందినెయ్యి or పందికొవ్వు lard. నేతి nēti. adj. Of the ghee; buttery. నేతిబీరకాయ the sharp-angled cucumber.

(p. 706) padunu or పదను padunu. [Tel. పది+ఉను.] n. Time, season, సమయము. Temper, sharpness, whetting, వాడి. Moisture, తడి. Goodness of metal. The right degree of softness (in boiled areca nut, &c.) పరిపాకము. ఆ కత్తికి పదును రాలేదు that knife is not properly tempered. దున్నడమునకు ఆ నేల పదునుగా నుండలేదు the ground is not sufficiently moist for ploughing. ఉక్కును కాచడములో పదును తప్పినది he failed in giving the right temper to the steel. 'పదునైనబలువాడిమెరుగువాలు.' HK. iv. 193. పదనుకొను padanu-konu. v. n. To become wet or moist, తడియు. 'సానబట్టిన రాపొడిచల్లి మెదపి. పదనునుధనిడిచేసెనోపద్మభవుడు.' Swa. ii. 40. టీ పదను, చేతితడి. పదను పెట్టేరాయి a bone or whetstone. ఒకపదునువాన one moistening of rain, i.e., so much rain as renders the earth fit for ploughing. One పదను or wetting sinks into the ground about the depth of a plough share: equivalent to 'one inch of rain.' పదునుచేయు to moisten. పొగాకుపదునుచేయు to prepare or cure tobacco in a particular way. పదునుపెట్టు to set or sharpen.

(p. 1042) molacu , మొలుచు or మొల్చు molaṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To sprout, germinate, vegetate, grow. To rise, to appear, as a star. మొలక, మొలవ or మొల్క molaka. [from మొలచు.] n. A germ, a sprout. అంకురము. The core, or centre of a boil. దుర్మాంసవిశేషము. Piles. ఆసనములోని మొలక. ఉపద్రవము. adj. Young, tender. లేత టెంకాయలోని మొలక a substance that rises like a knob in an overripe cocoanut. మొలకక్రొన్నెల the new moon. మొలకనవ్వు a budding smile, i.e., a gentle smile. ఆ వంశమునకు వాడొక మొలక ఉన్నాడు he is the only remaining individual or scion of that family. మొలకపండుగ a vernal festival, the feast of the sprouts. మొలకకట్టు molaka-kaṭṭu. v. a. To put moistened seeds into a basket to germinate with a view to sow them. మొలకెత్తు or మొలకయెత్తు molak-ettu. v. n. To sprout up, మొలచు. మొలకబంగారు molaka-bangāru. n. Fairy gold, supposed to grow in snake-holes, &c. పుట్టలలో పురుగులవల్ల పుట్టే బంగారు. మొలకకాయ molaka-kāya. n. A small kind of Egg plant. A kind of prickly Night shade, Solanum hirsutum. బృహతి. క్షుద్రవార్తాకి. నల్లమొలక్కాయ the black kind. తెల్లమొలక్కాయ the white kind. మొలవేయు molavēyu. v. a. To sow (corn), to cast seed in order to sprout, మొలిచేలాగువేయు, నాటు. మొలిపించు moli-pinṭsu. v. a. To cause to sprout. మొలిచేటట్టుచేయు. మొలతెంచు or మొలతేరు mola-tenṭsu. v. n. To sprout, shoot, grow. అంకురిమచు, పుట్టు, కలుగు. 'మొలతెంచు సంతోషమున దేలిరపుడు.' Dab. 299.

(p. 1081) rubbu rubbu. [Tel.] v. a. To grind in a mortar any thing first moistened in water. రోటిలోవేసి పొత్తరముతో మెదుపు. రుబ్బుపొత్తరము, రుబ్బుపొత్రము, రుబ్బుగుండు or రుబ్బుగుండ్రాయి rubbu-pottaramu. n. The stone pestle used in a mortar, రాతిరోటిపొత్రము. రుబ్బురాయి rubbu-rāyi. n. A grindstone. రుబ్బురోలు rubbu-rōlu. n. A mortar for grinding. రాతిరోలు.
