(p. 225) kaṇḍe kaṇḍe. [Tel.] n. A head or ear of millet or maize. జొన్నకంకి. A ball or roll of thread on a straw, which is put into the shuttle నూలుచుట్టు. A shoulder whose muscles are stiffened by gymnastics సాముచే మిక్కిలి గట్టిపడిన భుజముఖము (another form in this sense is కండెము.) కండెచేప a fish. A. v. 42. కండెబోటి a Skein of thread.

The guinea worm that breeds in the flesh of the leg, సెలపుండు, నాడివ్రణము. నారికాయ nāri-kāya. n. A scar caused by drawing the bowstring, అల్లెత్రాటి తాకుడువలన చేతియందు కలిగిన కిణము. A wart, కిణము. నారిపక్షి nāri-pakshi. n. The sea gull, from the entrails of which (నారి) bowstrings are made.

(p. 1084) reṭṭa reṭṭa. [Tel.] n. The upper part of the arm. భుజము. Filth, the dung of birds or fish or fish, పక్షిమలము. A certain tint of carmine used in painting, వర్ణవిశేషము. వానిరెట్టసడలినది his shoulder is dislocated. కోడిరెట్ట fowl's dung. రెట్ట is also the name of an astronomer whose school is called రెట్టమతము. రెట్టనాడి reṭṭa-nāḍi. adj. Double muscled, strong. బలిష్ఠమైన. రెట్ట నాడిగుర్రము a strong horse. రెట్టి reṭṭi. n. and adj. A double or twofold. ద్విగుణము. మూడురెట్లు threefold. రెట్టించు reṭṭinṭsu. v. a. To double, redouble. repeat. To oppose. ఇనుమడించు, ఎదురాడు. 'సీత్కారంబు రెట్టింప.' N. ix. 365. టీ ఇబ్బడింపగా. 'పవనసామర్థ్యంబు రెట్టించెనె.' Ila. iv. 33. మాటలు రెట్టించినవి it came to high words. రెట్టింపు reṭṭimpu. n. and adj. Twice as much. ఇనుమడి, ఇబ్బడి. Opposing, adverse. రెట్టింపుమాటలు arguing against.

(p. 1368) snāyuvu snāyuvu. [Skt.] n. A tendon, a muscle, described as a tubular vessel attached to the bones at either end, and conveying vital air. సంధిబంధనము, సరము, సన్నపునరము. స్నాయుబంధనము a ligament. స్నాయుచక్రములు muscle rings.

(p. 1374) svatantramu sva-tantramu. [Skt.] adj. Independent, not subject to any other's will, free, uncontrolled, head-strong, despotic, యథేచ్ఛమైన. విచ్చలవిడిగా నుండే, పరతంత్రముకాని, పరాధీనముకాని. 'స్వతంత్ర సంచారియై.' M. XV. ii. 64. n. Independence, freedom, స్వేచ్ఛ. Hereditary right; a right. హక్కు. ఇది యేమి స్వతంత్రము you take liberties. స్వతంత్రనాడులు independent nerves. స్వతంత్రకండరములు involuntary muscles. స్వతంత్రించు sva-tantriu-ṭsu. v. n. To do any thing out of one's own head, or, on one's own responsibility, to act for oneself. ఆయన ఆజ్ఞ ప్రకారము చేసినాను గాని నేను స్వతంత్రింపలేదు I did this according to his orders, not independently of him. స్వతంత్రుడు sva-tantruḍu. n. One who is his own master, one who is independent. స్వచ్ఛందుడు, తన మనసు వచ్చినట్టు నడిచేవాడు, ప్రాప్తవ్యవహార దశగలవాడు. స్వతంత్రురాలు sva-tantru-r-ālu. n. A woman who is her own mistress. ఒకరికి అడగియుండునిది.
