(p. 3) aṅkuramu ankuramu. [Skt.] n. A germ, a sprout, a bud. మొలక. నఖాంకురములు nail-marks, ప్రేమాంకురము the germ of love. నంశాంకురము నిలిచేలాగు దత్తుచేసికొనెను he adopted a son to preserve the stem of his family. ఆయనకు అంకురములేనందున as he left no heir.

(p. 284) killāku killāku. [Tel. కిల్ల+ఆకు.] n. A billet, a memorandum. చీటి. Literally గిల్లిన ఆకు a nipped palmleaf, i.e, a leaf indented with marks of the finger nail and sent by a messenger. An unequal number of debts agrees to a proposal, but an even number is a refusal. గిల్లు పత్ర, ఉల్లాకు.

(p. 319) kona kona. [Tel.] n. The end, extremity, termination, point, tip. చివర. కొనగోళ్లు the tips of the nails. కొనచెవి the tip of the ear: చంటికొన the tip of the breast, the nipple or teat. adj. (p. 369) gillu gillu. [Tel.] v. a. To pinch, or nip with the nails. To remind by giving a pinch. గిల్లుడు gilluḍu. n. Pinching. గిల్లుకొను to pinch oneself. గిల్లుపత్రి gillu-patri. n. A billet or note. See కిల్లాకు. A religious rite among the Saivas, during which the worshipper nips a leaf.

(p. 378) gubba gubba. [Tel.] n. A stud, a knob, a protuberance. A woman's breast. 'బంగారుగుబ్బతో భాసిల్లు గొడుగు' an umbrella with a gold knob at the top. Pal. 280.
