(p. 15) andubaḍi andubaḍi. [Tel.] n. Nearness. Getting, obtaining. ప్రాప్తము. వాడికి ఆ రూకలు యింకా అందుబడి కాలేదు he has not yet got the money. అది అందుబడి అయిన తరువాత after it was received or came to hand.

(p. 166) ubbu ubbu. [Tel.] n. Swelling ఉబ్బడము. సంతోషము. Haughtiness. ఉబ్బు v. n. To swell, be puffed up, to be delighted. ఉబ్బిన swollen or proud. నవ్వి కడుపు ఉబ్బినది he burst with laughter. 'ఉబ్బి చెలరేగి వసుదేవుడుత్సహించె.' (B. X.) he was overjoyed. అది నాకు దొరికినదని వానికి కడుపు ఉబ్బుచున్నది he is vexed at my obtaining this. కడుపుబ్బు suppression of urine, envy, spite, ఉబ్బున haughtily, fiercly. ఉబ్బించు ubbinṭsu. v. t. To inflate, to puff up with joy, to flatter. ఉబ్బు రోగము ubbu-rōgamu. n. Dropsy.

(p. 219) ōlamu ōlamu. [Tel.] n. A covering, screen, shelter, veil. The body as the covering of the soul చాటు, దాగస్థలము, మరుగు, రక్షణ ఓలమంది obtaining shelter. 'ఓలముల దాగి తలచూపమోడి.' P. iv. 258. ఓలమాసగొను ōla-māsa-gonu. (ఓలము+ఆస+కొను) v. n. To hide. To retreat; flee, draw back మరుగుపడు, చాటుకోరు, పరాఙ్ముఖుడగు.

(p. 321) koraku koraku. [Tel.] (an affix as a sign of the fourth case). For: for want of: on behalf of, on account of: with a view to: to the end that. నా కొరకు for me. పరలోక సౌఖ్యముకొరకు with a view to obtaining heaven. కొరకు or కొరను koraku. n. A hedge round a place where cattle graze. పసులుమేయుకంచె. A place where birds find their food పక్షులు ఎరతినుచోటు.

(p. 767) putruḍu or పుత్రకుడు putruḍu. [Skt.] n. A son. ఔరసపుత్రుడు or ఔరసుడు aurasa-putruḍu. n. A legitimate son. దత్తపుత్రుడు or దత్తుడు patta-putruḍu. n. An adopted son. పుత్రి or పుత్రిక putri. n. A duaghter. A copy or transcript from an original. పుత్రవాత్సల్యము parental affection, love towards children. పుత్రోత్సవము putr-ōṭsavamu. n. Rejoicings on account of the birth of a son. పుత్రకామేష్టి putra-kām-ēshṭi. n. A religious sacrifice performed for the purpose of obtaining a son. పుత్రజీవిక putra-jīvika. n. A tree, a species of Nageia Rox. iii. 786. పుత్రపాత్రపారంపర్యముగా putra-pautra-pāram-paryamu-gā. adv. From generation to generation. ఈ నేలను పుత్రపాత్రపారంపర్యముగా అనుభవింపవలసినది the land is to be held by him and his heirs for ever.

(p. 801) pondu or ఒందు pondu. [Tel.] v. n. To wink, (కన్ను) వాలు. To gain, obtain, get, acquire. To reach, attain to. To have, enjoy. To suffer, experience, meet with joy, grief or death, &c. ప్రాపించు. వానిని లక్ష్మిపొందినది good luck has be fallen him. అవమానమును పొందినాడు he incurred disgrace. సంతోషమును పొందినాడు he was pleased. నష్టమును పొందినాడు he incurred loss. విఘ్నమొందక meeting with no obstacle or cheek. నరకమును పొందినాడు he fell into hell. కన్నుపొందు to sleep. 'ఆ కడుపు నిండగుడువ గానమిరేయెల్ల, గన్నుపొందకున్న కరముడస్సి, యున్నవాడనాకు.' M. I. vi. 322. కన్నుపొందకున్న, అనగా నిద్రలేకుండా ఉండడముచేత. Also, to have intercourse with. కలయు. n. Fitness. suitability, agreement. పొందిక intercourse, friendship, స్నేహము. Joining, union, సంధి. The act of obtaining a thing ప్రాప్తి. Sameness, want of difference, అభేదము. Agreeableness, అనుకూల్యము. adj. Friendly, స్నేహితుడు. 'రాలపొందెరింగి రాలగూర్చినభంగిలోను పొందెరింగిలోనుపరచి.' Vēma. 637. పొందుకాడు ponḍu-kāḍu. n. A friend, స్నేహితుడు. పొందుకొను pondu-konu. v. n. To be fixed or established, నెలకొను. పొందుపడు pondu-paḍu. v. n. To be agreeable or fit, సరిపడు, అనుకూలించు. పొందుపాటు ponda-pāṭu. n. Convenience, suitability, aid, help. వానికి ఆ రూకలు పొందుపాటు కాలేదు he could not get the money. పొందుపాటుచేయు to arrange, అనుకూలముచేయు. పొందించు pondinṭsu. To cause to obtain, get, or experience. నన్ను ఈ శ్రమ పొందించినారు they caused me this trouble. 'మగువత నంబునజగముల తగులము బొందింప గొంతదడవెముకుందా.' B. viii. 446. పొందిక pondika. n., Fitness, agreement, aptness. ఇమిడిక. Intercourse, సహవాసము, కలయిక. 'సీతాకాంతముని స్త్రీల పొందిక లుమరగి.' R. v. 59.

(p. 846) prāpiñcu prāpinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To obtain, get, attain to. పొందు. ప్రాపు prāpu. n. A prop. A protection, support, a refuge; patronage; a person on whom one depends, ఆసరా, ఆశ్రయము. ఆయనప్రాపుననున్నాము we are under his protection. ప్రాప్తము praptamu. adj. Obtained, gained, acquired, received, procured, caught, as a disease, పొందబడిన. కుష్ఠు అతనికి ప్రాప్తమైనందున because he caught the leprosy. n. That which is obtained. that which falls to one's lot, luck, fortune. నాప్రాప్తమింతే this is all I can get, such is my luck. ప్రాప్తి prāpti. n. Obtaining, attaining, పొందడము. Gain, profit, లాభము. One of the eight superhuman faculties, the power of obtaining every thing one desires. అష్టైశ్వర్యములలో నొకటి. Luck, fortune. అదృష్టము. వానికి అంతే ప్రాప్తి this is all he can get. దాని ప్రాప్తి అట్లు ఉండినది such was her luck. నీకు అది ప్రాప్తిలేదు you were not fortunate enough to get it. ప్రాప్తించు prāptinṭsu. v. n. To happen or occur; to be gained, obtained, found. కలుగు, లభించు. వానికి రోగము ప్రాప్తించినది he contracted or caught a disease. ప్రాప్తుడు prāptuḍu. n. One who has attained. వారు వైకుంఠ ప్రాప్తులరి they went to Vishnu's heaven, i.e., they died. ప్రాప్యము prāpyamu. adj. Attainable, procurable, that may be got. పొందదగిన. ప్రాపకము prāpakamu. n. Protection, patronage, refuge. అవలంబము, అవష్టంభము, ఆసరా, ప్రాపకుడు prāpakuḍu. n. One who puts an object within our power or reach. ఘటకుడు. A patron, protector, guardian.

(p. 887) bisa bisa. [Tel.] n. The spring as of a watch, &c. యంత్రపుకీలు. A machine, యంత్రము. A contrivance, device, ఉపాయము. 'అచ్చటం గ్రుచ్చికానరాకుండ మునుమున్ను మృగయుండు బిసయొడ్డిసంఘటించిన కాలి బోనులంబడి.' A compilation, abridgment, compendium, సంక్షీప్తగ్రంథము. One verse says కర్తవ్యం ధర్మసంగ్రహం. adj. Short, brief. సంక్షేపమైన. సంగ్రహించు san-grahinṭsu. v. a. To seize, grasp, snatch, obtain, acquire, earn, get, సంపాదించు. To abridge, compile, summarize, సంక్షేపించు, సంగ్రహించుకొని వెళ్లు to walk away with anything. లంకించుకొనిపోవు.
