(p. 683) noccu noṭsṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To ache, smart, pain, be grieved. నొప్పినొంచు నొచ్చిఉండు వాడు a distressed man. నొచ్చిపోయిరి they were in reduced circumstances. నొచ్చుకొను noṭsṭsu-konu. v. n. To ache, repent, grieve, పశ్చాత్తాపపడు. నొచ్చుకోలు noṭsṭsukōlu. n. Repentance. పశ్చాత్తాపపడుట. నొవ్వ novva. adv. Achingly, acutely, sharply, painfully, so as to pain, smartingly. నొన్వనాడుట to speak severely. నొవ్వని novvani. adj. Painless, not aching, easy. నొవ్వి, నొవ్వు, నోవు or నోవి novvi. n. Pain, suffering, వేదన. Disease, sickness, వ్యాధి. నోవరి a sick person, వ్యాధిగలవాడు.

(p. 836) prayāsamu or ప్రయాస pra-yāsamu. [Skt.] n. Toil, violent effort, trouble, difficulty, pain. శ్రమము. ఆ మాట వినడమునకే ప్రయాసముగానున్నది it is painful even to hear that word. నేను చెప్పేమాటలు అతను వినడమే ప్రయాస it is hard to get him to listen to what I say. ప్రయాసపడు pra-yāsa-paḍu. v. n. To try hard, to take pains, to incur difficulties, to suffer. శ్రమపడు.

(p. 871) balupu or బళువు baluvu. [from Skt. బలము.] n. Weight, a load or burden; బరువు. Strength, బలము. A charge, or obligatory duty; onus; oppression; anguish; acuteness (as of a boil), heaviness, severity of sickness. Importance, consequence. భారము. మీ చిత్తమునకు బలువు తోచును you would be displeased. బళువుసుళువు ఎరుగనివాడు one who knows no care. దానిని నెరవేర్చే బళువు తమది it is your business to settle this. బలబళవు ఇంకా తీయలేదు the heaviness or stupor is not yet gone off. నెత్తి బళువు తీరినది there is a weight off my mind. ఆ కురుపు నానాటికి బళువుచేస్తున్నది the boil becomes more painful day by day. adj. Heavy, onerous; obligatory; difficult, acute, severe (as illness), irksome, indisposed. అధికము, మిక్కుటము. Large, పెద్ద. See బలు. వాడు బలువైన పనిచేయలేడు he cannot do any heavy work. బలువుగా or బళువుగా baluvu-gā. adv. Heavily. అతనికి ఒళ్లు బలువుగానున్ణది he is very ill. ఆ ఊరు బలువుగా కోసెడు ఉన్నది the village is fully two milles off. బలువుడు baluvuḍu. adj. Strong. బలముగల. n. A strong man, బలవంతుడు, బలియుడు.

(p. 1194) viṣamamu vishamamu. [Skt.] adj. Odd, uneven, irregular. Unparalleled, unequalled. Contrary, adverse, unfavourable, evil, bad. బేసి, ఎక్కువతక్కువగానుండే, సమముకాని, విరుద్ధము, దుష్టము. విషమసంఖ్య an odd number. విషమజ్వరము a pestilent fever, a fever difficult of cure. విషమాయుధుడు or విషమశరుడు Manmadha, whose arrows are five (an odd number). విషమనయనుడు Siva who has an odd (or extra) eye in his forehead. విషమబుద్ధి an evil or wicked mind. విషమవిభాగము an unfair or an unequal division. To throb or shoot as a painful boil, to ache, పోట్లుపొడుచు. సలవరము, సలవరింత, సలుపరింత or సళువరింత salaparamu. n. A pang, throb, pain, ache. సళువు. సలవరించు, సలువరించు or సళువరించు salapa-rinṭsu. v. n. To throb or shoot as a boil, to give a shooting pain, as a boil, to ache, సళుపు.
