(p. 70) abhimānamu abhi-mānamu. [Skt.] n. Pride, self-esteem, haughtiness Patronage, protection. Affection, regard, care, love, favour. గర్వము, సంరక్షణ, విశ్వాసము, దేశాభిమానము love of one's own country, patriotism. వాడు దేహాభిమానము కలవాడు he pays great attention to his own ease. he is luxurious. అభిమానపుత్రుడు one who passes for one's son, or is looked upon as a son, or, supposed to be his child. అభిమానపుత్రత్వము an understood or attribute sonship. తమ అభిమానము కావలసినది I beg your patronage. నా యందు నిండా అభిమానముగా జరిగించినాడు he has treated me honourably. ఒకని మీద అభిమానము ఉంచు to be partial to a person. అభిమానము లేనివాడు one without affection; unkind అభిమాని n. He who loves. విశ్వాసము గలవాడు. మతాభిమాని a bigot. కులాభిమాని one who stands up for his caste. దేశాభిమాని the advocate for his country, he who loves his country, a patriot. అభిమానించు v. a. To honor, favour, protect, patronise, regard with kindness. గొప్ప చేయు, గౌరవించు.

(p. 271) kāpāḍu kāpāḍu. [Tel. from కాచు.] v. a. To guard, watch, keep, to preserve, or protect, patronise. To secure from failure. తనమాట కాపాడుకొనేటందుకు with a view to verify his statement.

See తీసికొను. దెబ్బతీయు to give a blow. చెరువుతీయు, బావితీయు. to sink or dig a well or tank. పాతరతీయు to open a pit or granary. పాలుతీయు to milk. జాడతీయు to trace, detect. చేరదీయు to draw towards, to patronise, take into one's service, to embrace. సానదీయు to whet on a stone. గోళ్లుతీయు to cut the nails. దోవతీయు to clear the way, to prepare a path. అతనిసిగ్గుతీసిరి they disgraced him. తాళముతీయు to unlock. వాకిలితీయు to open a door. విడతీయు to loosen or separate. వేరుగాతీయు to separate. ఎండకంచు తీసినట్టు ఉన్నది the sun is a dazzling as (though reflected from) polished metal. తీయు. v. n. To go off, cease, diminish, disappear, be dispelled, intermit, desist from. To draw back, withdraw, retire, stand aside. To contract, shrivel, crack, open, split. జ్వరముతీసినది the fever went down. వెన్నుతీయు to come forth, or be produced (as a sprout,) to bud. కాళ్లు తీయుచున్నవి my legs throb or ache. ఏరు తీసిపోయినది the river has gone down. వెనక తీయు to fail, retire, withdraw, retreat, hesitate, or flinch. నాలుకతీసినది my tongue is dry, I am thirsty. వాని ఒళ్లు మిక్కిలి తీసిపోయినది he is greatly fallen away in flesh. నీళ్లు తీసిపోవు to dry up, sink, diminish, be exhausted. బలమంతా తీసిపోయినది my strength has gone. పాతర తీసియున్నది the granary was opened. తీయక unintermittingly, without intermission. వెనకతీయక without hesitation. తియ్యకుండా unfailingly, uninterruptedly, without intermission. తీయని incessant, unceasing. తీయించు tīyinṭsu. v. a. To cause to remove, get removed. తీసివేయు tīsi-vēyu. v. t. To take away. To dismiss. To sever ఖండించు. తీసివేతకాకితాలు tīsi-vēta-kāki-talu. n. Outside sheets of paper: paper that is taken away. తీసిపోవు tīsi-pōvu. v. n. To diminish. తగ్గు. తీసుక for తీసుకొని bringing. తీసుకరా bring. తీసుకపో take away. తీసికొను or తీసుకొను tīsi-konu. v. a. To take, &c.; to buy; to eat or drink, &c. పనితీసుకొను to exact service. వాడు చాలా దినములనుంచి తీసుకొంటున్నాడు he has been lingering for a long time. దండముతీసుకొనెను he acknowledged or accepted the salutation.

(p. 578) daggira , దగ్గర or దగ్గర daggira. [Tel.] n. Nearness. సమీపము. adv. and postposition. By, at, near, close by, at hand, towards, to, with, in possession of. వద్ద, సమీపమందు. ఎవ్వరిదగ్గర కొన్నావు from whom did you buy it? నా దగ్గిర ఉన్నది I have it by me. అతని దగ్గిరలేదు he has not got it. ఈ పద్యము దగ్గిరనుండి చదివెను he read on from this verse. నేను దగ్గిర ఉంటిని I was by, I was present. దగ్గిరకుతీయు to take (a child) into one's family, to patronise, protect, take into one's keeping. దగ్గిరి or దగ్గరి daggiri. adj. Near. సమీపమందున్న. దగ్గిరించు, దగ్గరించు or దగ్గరు daggirinṭsu. v. n. To draw near, approach. సమీపించు.

(p. 822) pōṣiñcu pōshinṭsu [Skt.] v. a. To nourish, cherish, maintain, support, patronize. పోషకుడు pōshakuḍu. n. A patron, protector, ఉదరపోషకులు those who make a god of their belly. పోషణము pōshaṇamu. n. Nourishing, cherishing; maintenance, support. బిచ్చమెత్తి ఉదరపోషణము చేసుకొంటున్నాడు he fills his belly by begging. పోష్యము pōshyamu. adj. That which is to be cherished, or taken care of. పోషింపదగిన. అతని పోష్యవర్గము his dependants. పోష్యవర్గుడు or పోష్యుడు pōshya-varguḍu. n. A dependant, hangeron, protege. తమపోష్యవర్గుడైన రామయ్య. i.e., your humble servant Ramaya. Lit. Ramaya who is one of your dependants.

(p. 1283) saṃrakṣaṇa or సంరక్షణము sam-rakshaṇa. [Skt.] n. Sustaining, support, maintenance, nourishment, guardianship, charge patronage. పోషణ, పాలనము, కాపాడడము సంరక్షించు sam-rakshinṭsu. v. a. To support, protect, maintain, patronize, rear సంరక్షణచేయు, పోషించు, పాలించు, కాపాడు పెంచు. సంరక్షకుడు sam-rakshakuḍu. n. A protector, trustee, patron, guardian పాలకుడు, పోషకుడు.
