(p. 403) candrakamu chandrakamu. [Skt.] adj. Dark Lurid. మేచకము. n. A semicircle. The eyes in a peacock's tail. The semilunar marks left by finger-nails in pinching.

(p. 412) ciṭṭaṇṭu or చిట్టంటులు chiṭṭ-anṭu. [Tel. చిట్టి+అంటు.] n. The dent formed by the nails in pinching or by the teeth in biting. చిట్టంటులంటు to handle delicately or touch.

(p. 418) cirata or చిరుత chirata. [Tel.] n. A piece of wood, a wedge, a cudgel. చిన్నకోల, గొడియ. Also, the round piece of wood at the end of a native canoe. A castanet. చిరతలు pincers used in pinching the fingers as a torture. చిరతలవేయు to torture with pincers or thumb screws. See under చిరు.

(p. 428) cenaku chenaku [Tel.] v. t. To touch, తాకు. అంటు, స్పృశించు. To caper, rush, play pranks. A. i. 21. To oppose ఎదిరించు. n. Opposition ఎదిరించుట. Touching తాకుట. A dent or mark left by pinching the skin with the nails గోటినొక్కు.

(p. 628) nakhamu nakhamu. [Skt.] n. A nail, talon, claw. గోరు. A scale, as of an armadillo. నఖమాంసన్యాయంబున inseparable as the skin and the nail. నఖశిఖాపర్యంతము ఒళ్లు నొచ్చుచున్నది I am in pain to the tips of my nails, i.e., all over. నఖక్షతము nakha-kshatamu. n. A nail mark made on the skin by pinching.నఖముఖాలు nakha-mukhālu. n. Lit. The tips of the nails. adv. Dispersedly, up and down, all about, in all directions, all over, on all sides. నఖముఖాలనుండి from every quarter. నఖరము nakharamu. n. A nail, talon, claw. గోరు. A kind of weapon, ఆయుధ విశేషము. నకరాయుధము nakhar-āyu-dhamu. n. Lit: 'Armed with claws;' i.e., a cat, a lion, &c., but usually a cock, కోడి. నఖరేఖలు nakha-rēkhalu. n. Nail-marks or scratches.

(p. 761) pīḍa pīḍa. [Skt.] n. Pain, annoyance, suffering, బాధ. పీడపోయినది the plague is gone. adj. Painful, nasty, annoying. పీడకల a bad dream. పీడనము pīḍanamu. n. Paining, gripe, seizure, squeezing, pinching, trouble caused by others. పరులచే కలుగుబాధ. పీడించు pīḍinṭsu. v. a. To pain, plague, torment, harass. బాధించు. పీడితము pīḍitamu. adj. Pained, distressed, troubled, afflicted. పీడింపబడిన.
