(p. 63) apahariñcu apa-harinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To pillage, plunder, take by violence or deceit, usurp. ముచ్చిలించు, అన్యాయముగా ఎత్తుకొని పోవు. అపహరణము apa-haraṇamu. [Skt.] n. Plundering, purloining, carrying off, stealing. చౌర్యము, ముచ్చిలించడము, అన్యాయముగా ఎత్తుకొని పోవడము. అపహర్త n. One who carries away by force or violence, a thief, rogue. అపహారము apahāramu. [Skt.] n. Pillage, plunder, taking by violence. దోచుకోవడము. సర్వస్వాపహారము robbing of everything. హాదత్తాపపాదము taking back a gift. దత్తాహృతము adj. that which is robbed or stolen.

(p. 231) kaṭṭu kaṭṭu. [Tel.] v. a. To tie, bind. బంధించు. To wear, as clothes. ధరించు. To connect, affix, attach. To store up, to lay by. కూడబెట్టు. 'క మున్ కట్టిన కర్మఫలంబులు నెట్టన భోగింపకుండ నేర్తురెపమనుజుల్.' భార. అది. v. To build, erect, నిర్మించు. To fascinate, charm, bewitch. To fabricate, compose, or put a story together. కల్పించు. కట్టుకథ a mere fiction or fable. To impute a sin or offence. దానికి రంకుకట్టిరి they charged her with adultery. తప్పుకట్టు to find fault with, to lay blame on నేరము మోపు. నడుముకట్టు to gird up the loins or be prepared. కనుకట్టువిద్య jugglery, legerdemain. తోటకు నీళ్లుకట్టు to water a garden. గాయముకట్టు to dress a wound. బండికట్టు to get ready a carriage. కత్తికట్టు to put on one's sword or arm oneself. రూకలుకట్టు to pay money. మగ్గములకు పన్ను కట్టినారు they fixed a tax on looms. నిలువకట్టు to strike a balance. ధరకట్టు to set a price. పద్యముకట్టు to compose a verse. ఓడకు చాపకట్టు to set sail. వాకట్టు strike dumb by spells, &c. ఈ మాటను కట్టివిడిచినారు they fabricated this story or scandal. దోవకట్టు to stop up the road. దోవకట్టి దోచినారు they lay in ambuscade and plundered the way farers. కడుపుకట్టు to restrain the appetite. కట్టని (neg. p) Unbuilt or unbound. కట్టని కల్లుకోట a rock fortress not built with hands. కట్టనిగూడు (P. i. 545.) a natural nest, not constructed.

(p. 316) koṭṭu koṭṭu. [Tel.] v. n. To strike. గంట కొట్టినది the clock has struck. గాలి కొట్టుచున్నది the wind is blowing. కంపు కొట్టినది it smells badly. కొల్లగొట్టినాడు he plundered. పిడుగు ఆ చెట్టును చీలగొట్టినది the thunder bolt struck and split the tree. దాన్ని పురుగులుకొట్టినవి insects have attacked it. వానికి ముఖము కొట్టినది he is surfeited or gorged. వానకొట్టినది there was rain. వానికి ఎండకొట్టినది he was exposed to the sun. కొట్టినపిండి a well bruised flour, -- a phrase implying thorough knowledge of any subject. వానికి రామాయణము కొట్టినపిండి he is thoroughly acquainted with the Rāmāyaṇa. 'కోమలినాకునెట్టియెడ కొట్టినపిండి సమస్తలలోకముల్ నీమదికింపులైనయవి నిర్భరశక్తినిదేసమర్థుడన్.' KP. vi. 30.

(p. 324) kolla kolla. [Tel.] n. Plenty, Pillage, plunder. దోపుడు. అరిటిపండ్లుకొల్లగానున్నవి plantains are plentiful or dirtcheap. అది నాకు కొల్ల it is more enough for me. కొల్లకాడు kolla-kāḍu. n. A plunderer కొల్ల పెట్టువాడు. కొల్లకొట్టు, కొల్లగొను, కొల్లపెట్టు, కొల్లపోవు or కొల్లాడు kolla-koṭṭu. v. t. To plunder. దోచుకొను. కొల్లరి kollari. n. A bandit, plunderer, or hill robber. కొల్లలిడు kolla-l-iḍu. v. t. To plunder.

(p. 334) kruṅku krunku. [Tel.] v. n. To sink, to drown. ముసుగు. To set అస్తమించు. To die చచ్చు,. n. A plunge, the act of drowning, immersion. మునుక. క్రుంకుడు, sun-set. క్రుంకులిడు to give a plunge. క్రుంకించు krunkinṭsu. v. a. To dip, wash, steep.

(p. 352) gaḍi gaḍi. [Tel.] n. A limit, a boundary. ఎల్ల. గడికొల్లలు plundering on the borders. గడినేలలు boundary lands. గడిమెకము a cunning animal which evades the hunter వేటకుచిక్కని మృగము. గడితేరు to be expert, నిపుణుడగు, కడలేరు. plu. గళ్లు. గళ్లుచేయు to mark the boundaries. గడి gaḍi. n. Strength, a stronghold, fortalice or petty fort బలము. కోట, దుర్గము. గడి adj. Big, stout. గడిగుండు a big stone. గడితాడు a stout rope. A tether, a couple for two cattle. గడికాళ్లువేయు to tie up the legs of two animals together with a rope. రెండు పశువులకు ఒక్కొక్క కాలుచేర్చి లంకెవేయు. గడిదొంగ a great clever thief. గడికరణము the principal writer. గడిపోతు a bull ఆబోతు; a great scoundrel, చెడ్డగొడ్డు.

(p. 355) gati gati. [Skt.] n. Way. త్రోవ. Going, gait, pace, march, passage. గమనము. Means, resource, fund, contrivance, expedient, remedy. ఉపాయము. Refuge, resort, help, aid. దిక్కు. Fate, lot, destiny, state, hap, condition, situation. విధి. An adventure. (In the Līla, the different cantos are called గతులు.) Salvation, rescue రక్షణము. Ability, power శక్తి. నాగతి యేమి what is to become of me? ఇందుకు వేరేగతి ఉన్నది for this there is another remedy. దైవగతి divine providence. గతిలేని helpless, destitute, abject. వానికి దానిని చెల్లించుటకు గతిలేదు he is unable to pay it, he is without means of payment. పుత్రుడులేనివారికి గతిలేదు the childless have no hope (or prospect) of heaven. పటుగతి strongly దిట్టముగా. గతించు gatinṭsu. v. n. To pass away, elapse, కడచు. To die. చచ్చు. గతికల్పించు to devise an expedient. గతికుడు gatikuḍu. n. He who has a resource. అనన్యగతికుడై having no other resource. గతుడు gatuḍu. n. One who is gone or entered. ఆనందాబ్ధిగతుండనై I plunged in a sea of bliss. గత్యంతరము gat-y-antaramu. n. An alternative: an other means, or resource.

(p. 382) gulla gulla. [Tel.] n. A shell: a husk: a cowry shell. కప్పచిప్ప. A white pustule బొబ్బ. Anything hollow బోలు. Cotton in the pod. The hull of ship. (Vizag.) గుల్లకాసు a farthing: (lit. a shell) or a penny. గుల్లసున్నము shell lime. చింతగుల్ల tamarinds in the shell or husk. గుల్లాగుట్ర trash, rubbish, gewgaws. adj. Hollow, empty. బోలు. గుల్లకర్ర a tube. ఇల్లు గుల్లచేసినాడు or తుడిచిపెట్టినాడు he emptied or plundered the house. గుల్లపుటిక a small basket. గుల్లపొగాకు tobacco that is immature and worthless, గుల్లపడు to be disgraced అవమానపడు. గుల్లపరుచు to empty, to scorn, to disgrace. HD. ii. 168. గుల్లకాడు an empty handed man ఏమిన్ని లేనివాడు.

(p. 397) grasiñcu grasinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To swallow, devour. మ్రింగు. To eat తిను. గ్రస్తము grastamu. adj. Swallowed; seized; involved in; slurred, as an omitted word. విచారగ్రస్తులై plunged in grief. అన్యాయగ్రస్తుడైనాడు he is a victim to injustice.

(p. 450) cubbunacūra ṭsubbana-ṭsūra. [Tel. చూర+చూర.] n. Great plunder. మిక్కిలి చూర, పెద్దకొల్ల adv. To the full, to the heart's content: utterly. Irresistibly. At pleasure. M. IV. ii. 91.

(p. 452) cūra ṭsūra. [Tel.] n. Powder, dust పొడి. Plunder, spoil కొల్ల. వజ్రములచూర (for చూర్ణము) Diamond dust.ముత్తెపుచూర pearl powder. 'కన్చూరలుగోన్న.' అనగా కండ్లపండుగగాచూచిన. (Satyabh. iii. 22) he thought his very eyes enriched. చూరగా freely, liberally, to the full, to satiety. చురయిచ్చు to cast to the dogs: to give lavishly. చూరకొను, చూరపుచ్చు, చూరలాడు or చూరాడు to plunder, waste, ravage, చూరవిడుచు to give up to be plundered, as a conquered city. చూరయేట a scape goat, one let go as a sacrifice. చూరకారుడు a plunderer. చూరకోలు plundering చూరపోవు to be plundered.

(p. 426) ceṇḍu chenḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To rise, or spread, as a scent. v. a. To cut to pieces, mangle, destroy, break, ruin. ఖండించు. ఈయెండ చెండుతున్నది this sunshine is scorchingly hot. n. A cluster or ball or flowers. పూబంతి. A ball to play with. బంతి. చెండాడు chenḍ-āḍu. (చెండి+ఆడు.) v. a. To cut up into pieces. ఖండించు. To destroy, slay, To play at ball (చెండు ఆడు). చెండాట chenḍāta. n. A game at ball. చెండుగోరింపులు chenḍu-gōrimpulu. n. Playing at ball. చెండుకొనితిను to devour or plunder. చెండుమల్లె chenḍumalle. n. The marigold. బంతిపువ్వు, చేమంతి. చెండుబెండాడు chenḍu-benḍ-āḍu. v. t. To cut to pieces. చెండిపోతు or చండిపోతు chenḍi-pōtu. n. A wretch.
