(p. 428) ceḍu cheḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To be spoiled or damaged. To become rotten or worthless. To become wicked or bad. To be dispelled, dissipated, or done away with as darkness. To become bad, damaged or ruined. నశించు, కనబడకపోవు. To change, be altered from its original state. 'నకారము చెడి అర్థబిందువు వచ్చెను (Appa. C. ii. 31.) the letter N is dropt and the nasal sign (sunna) is substituted.' అది చెడె it is ruined! వాసిచెడినకాంతి with diminished brilliancy. నీ సంశయము చెడును your doubts shall be dissipated. M. XIII. v. 97. చెడగొట్టు cheḍa-goṭṭu. v. t. To ruin, spoil. చెడనాడు cheḍa-n-āḍu. v. t. To blame. నిందించు. To curse. To say 'Be it ruined'! To scorn. To waste, throw away. చెడిప cheḍipa. (చెడిన+అప.) n. An unchaste woman. రంకుటాలు. చెడు adj. Vile, worthless, Horrid, abominable. చెడుచిక్కు a terrible difficulty. చెడుగు cheḍugu. adj. Ruined, vile, worthless, Cruel క్రూరము. n. Evil, a misfortune or calamity. అశుభము. A bad woman దుష్టురాలు. చెడుగడు or చెడుగొట్టు cheḍu-gaḍu. n. A miscreant, a wretch. క్రూరుడు. P. i. 559. చెడ్డ cheḍḍa. (contracted form చెడిన.) adj. Bad, spoiled ruined, lost. Terrible, awful, tremendous. Hard, cruel. n. Evil. కీడు. మంచిచెడ్డలు good and bad. కులముచెడ్డవాడు one who has lost caste. తలచెడ్డచెట్టు a pollard, a tree that has lost its head. చెడ్డతనము cheḍḍa-tanamu. n. Badness, wickedness, severity.

(p. 563) tōkaṭavaṭṭu tōkaṭa-vaṭṭu. [Tel.] n. A pollard tree. A tree that is half dead. (This meaning is clearly given in the గృహవాస్తు chap. 4. verse 18.)

(p. 672) nūka or నూకలు nūka. [Tel.] n. Grits, pollard, farina, a kind of coarse flour called roulong or soojey in Madras. ఈ బియ్యము నిండా నూకవడిగానున్నది the rice is full of grits. నూకలకూడు gritty meal, a meal prepared from the coarse grits of rice. నూక n. A kind of tree.

(p. 814) polla or పొల్లకట్టు polla. [Tel.] n. Pithless or blasted grain. గిం౛ పట్టనిధాన్యము. బూగరపొల్లు, నిప్సారమైన ధాన్యము. 'కళ్లానశూర్పవాత ఘట్టవలబారి చనుపొల్ల కట్టువోలె.' A. iv. 14. A useless person, వ్యర్థుడు. adj. Useless, rejected, వ్యర్థము, విసర్జింపబడిన, పొల్లపడు or పొల్లపోవు polla-paḍu. v. n. To become useless, వ్యర్థమగు. To deteriorate or decrease, తగ్గు, క్షీణించు. పొల్లపుచ్చు polla-puṭsṭsu. v. a. To cause to decrease, తగ్గించు, క్షీణింపజేయు.

(p. 910) bōḍa , బోడి or బోడు bōḍa. [Tel.] adj. Bald, bare, hornless, cropped. n. A monk. సన్యాసి. బోడితల bald-head. బోడితలతో వచ్చినాడు he came with his head bare or uncovered. బోడిఆవు a hornless cow. బోడిఅమ్ము a blunt arrow, an arrow without a point. వారిని బాగా బోడిచేసినాడు he stripped them bare, or plundered them. బోడియేనుగు a tuskless elephant. బోడిచెట్టు a pollard or a tree with the boughs cut off. బోడతీరువ gross tax (as on a crop) without deducting charges. 'ఆసపడిబోడవైన నేనగుదుగాని యింటి సొమ్మెక్కకాసైన నియ్య.' S. ix. 3. బోడడు a bald headed man, బోడివాడు. బోడతరము bōda-taramu. n. A plant, Sphœranthus indicus. శ్రావణీ, ముండినిచెట్టు. Ainslie. 167. బోడలు bōḍalu. n. Hornless cattle. కొమ్ములురాని పశువులు. బోడసరము Same as బొడ్డసరము. (q. v.) బోడికోడి bōḍi-kōḍi. [Tel.] n. A coot, Fulica atra (F.B.I.) బోడించు or బోడిచేయు boḍinṭsu. v. a. To make bald to crop the hair on the head entirely, to shave the hair on the head entirely, to shave the head entirely bare. బోడింపు boḍimpu. n.
