(p. 128) āśaucamu ā-ṣauchamu. [Skt. ఆశుచి] n. Pollution. అంటు. Mourning on the death of a relative; or imaginary pollution proceeding from the birth of a child; మయిల, సూతకము, (లేక) పురుడు. The former is commonly termed మృతాశౌచము the latter జాతాశౌచము. Hence ఆశౌచము పట్టు to go into mourning.

(p. 960) malamu malamu [Skt.] n. An excretion, especially applied to the fœces, dung, dirt, filth, dregs, sediment. Sin, pollution. మూత్రము, పురీషము, గులిచి, చీమిడి, పుసి, ఉమ్మి మొదలైనవి, పాపము, మాలిన్యము, దోషము. మలహరుడు the remover of defilement. అణవమలము original sin, అణుసంబంధమైన మలము. మలత్రయము or ముమ్మలము three kinds of defilement or evil passions, viz., గర్వము, మాయ, కామము, pride, confusion of mind and lust. మలమూత్రములు dung and urine, మూత్రపురీషములు. మలబంధనము costiveness, obstruction of the bowels. మలబాధకు వెళ్లు to go to stool.

(p. 1011) muvvaṇṭu muv-vanṭu. [Tel. మూడు + అంటు.] n. Three pollutions caused by child-births in the same month, నెలకులోపలి మూడు పురుడులు.

(p. 1033) maila or మయిల maila. [from Skt. మలినము.] n. Uncleanness, foulness, impurity, dirt, pollution, ceremonial defilement, మాలిన్యము, అశుచిత్వము. A dirty cloth, మలిన వస్త్రము. adj. Dirty, unclean. మైలవస్త్రములు dirty clothes. మైలావు or మయిలఆవు a cow of a grizzled colour. పొగచాయగలఆవు. మడి మైల clean and dirty, foul and fair. మైలక్రోవి maila-krōvi. n. A kind of musical instrument, మురళి. మైలచాయ తొండ maila-ṭsāya-tonda. n. A kind of lizard or bloodsucker. మైలతుత్తము or మయిలుతుత్తము maila-tuttamu. n. Blue vitriol or sulphate of copper. తుత్తము. మైలపడు maila-paḍu. v. n. To become dirty or unclean, to become polluted, మలినమగు, ఆశుచియగు.

(p. 1249) śāvamu ṣāramu. [Skt. from శవము.] adj. Relating to a dead body. పీనుగు సంబంధమైన. n. Imaginary pollution, proceeding from the death of a relation. శవసంబంధి ఆశాచము.

(p. 1340) sudda sudda. [from Skt. సుధా or శుద్ధ.] n. White pipe-clay. తెల్లమన్ను, శ్వేతమృత్తిక. సుద్దబావి a well sunk in white clay. సుద్దము suddamu. [from శుద్ధము.] adj. Pure, clean, శుద్ధము. సుద్దగించు sudda-ginṭsu. v. a. To smooth by beating with a hammer. మిట్ట పల్లములులేకుండా సుత్తెతోకొట్టు. H. ii. 201. సుద్ధి suddi. adj. Clean, pure, free from pollution. ధౌతమైన, శూచియైన. 'నీరాడికడు సుద్ధిచీరెకట్టి.' Chamatkara Manj. ii. 12. n. Purity,పరిశుద్ధి. Morality, justice, నీతి. [From శ్రుతి.] n. A story; news, tidings, intelligence. మాట, వృత్తాంతము, జనశ్రుతి భేదము. 'ప్రొద్ధుపోయెను లెమ్మికసుద్ధులేల.' Vish. iii. 9. సుద్దిగాడు suddi-gāḍu. n. A holy or clean man. పరిశుద్ధుడు. 'చూపియిన్నాళ్లునటువంటి సుద్ద గాడు కాడటందువుగద.' Suca. i. 481. సుద్దిచేయు suddi-chēyu. n. a. To purify, clean. శుద్ధిపరుచు.

(p. 1374) svapnamu svapnamu. [Skt.] n. A dream, vision, dreaming, కల. Sleep, నిద్ర. జాగ్రత్స్వప్నసుషుప్తులు waking, sleep and deep sleep. స్వప్నమగు to dream. రాత్రి నాకొక స్వప్నమైనది I had a dream last night. స్వప్నదోషము pollutio nocturna. స్వప్నావస్థ the condition of being asleep.
