(p. 224) kaṇṭicēpa or కణితిచేప kaṇṭi-chēpa. [Tel.] n. A kind of fish, a species of sparus with a prickly head and large eyes. Russel, plate 104.

(p. 292) kuṭṭu kuṭṭu. [Tel.] v. n. To ache, be sore, to be in pain. వానికి కండ్లుకుట్టినవి he has got sore eyes. Metaphorically, he is envious. కుట్టు. v. a. To prick, bore, pierce: to sting. To sew or stitch. పండ్లు కుట్టుకొను to pick the teeth. మడిచికుట్టు to fold and sew, i.e., to hem. చెప్పుడు కుట్టు to make shoes. చెప్పులు కుట్టేవాడు a cobbler, మాదిగవాడు. కుట్టుతేళ్లు scorpions, villians, కంటకములు, క్షుద్రులు. కుట్టు. n. Spite, grudge, pique. కడుపుకుట్టు belly-ache: spite, grudge. కుట్టుసురు the last breath, or gasp. కుట్టుకాడ or కుట్టుపోగు kuṭṭu-kāḍa. n. A wire placed in the ear in preparation for an earring. కుట్టు పోయు kuṭṭu-pōyu. v. n. To stitch or sew slightly.

(p. 370) gīta gīta. [Tel.] n. A line: lancing or pricking a tree. గీతగీపేకాలము the season for tapping the palm tree. గీతరట్ట gīta-kaṭṭe. n. A tool used by carpenters for drawing parallel lines, also called కత్తికాసు.

(p. 373) guccu or గ్రుచ్చు guṭsṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To pierce or prick. To thread, string together. పూసలుగుచ్చు to string beads. తాడు గుచ్చినాడు he ran the thread through, or inserted it. చేతులుగుచ్చు to join hand in hand, one's fingers being laced between those of his friend. కాగిటగ్రుచ్చె he embraced her. గుచ్చుకొను guṭsṭsu-konu. v. n. To enter, penetrate, pierce. కాలికి ముల్లుగుచ్చుకొనినది a thorn pierced the foot. గుచ్చుకపోయినకండ్లు sunken eyes. కండ్లు గుచ్చుకొనిపోతవి I cannot keep my eyes open.

(p. 412) ciṭaviṭa or చిటపొట chiṭa-chiṭa. [Tel.] adv. Crackingly, sulkily. చటచట. n. A crackling sound, as that of wood that is burning. Sulkiness. adj. Vexed, irritated or annoyed: sharp or cross. చిటచిటమాటలు sharp or cross language. చిటచిటమను or చిటచిటలాడు chiṭa-chiṭa-m-anu. v. n. To crackle as fire. To be vexed, irritated or annoyed. To look sulky. మండిపడు. చిటచిటలు chiṭa-chiṭalu. n. Heat, inflammation. దానికి ఒళ్లు చిటచిటలాడుచున్నది she has the prickly heat, or, is angry.

(p. 414) ciḍumu chiḍumu. [Tel.] n. Smarting, such as is caused by the itch, prickly heat or a whitlow. The itch తీటకురుపు.
