To expire. ఇది లేకుండ నాకు గడవదు I cannot get on without this. గడిచిబ్రతికినవారు the survivors. ఇక్కడ గడవనందున దేశాంతరమునకు వెళ్లినాను as I could not get on here I went elsewhere. గడపుకొను or గడుపుకొను gaḍapu-konu. v. a. To manage, transact, effect. గడిపించు (Causal of గడచు.) gaḍi-pinṭsu. v. a. To pass. కాలము ఇట్లు గడిపించి passing the time thus. గడుపు gaḍupu. v. a. To pass (time). To put off or defer, to finish. To cause to pass over. To forward, push on, drive on, urge on. To get over, get through (trouble).

(p. 430) cera chera. [Tel.] n. A prison. కారాగృహము. Imprisonment, captivity నిర్భంధము. యుద్ధములో బలాత్కారముచేత పట్టుకోబడ్డది, కయిదు. చెరబోవు to go to jail. చెరపట్టు or చెరగొను to take one a prisoner, to capture, to carry away by force; to ravish a woman చెరచూరలు chera-chūralu. n. Rape and robbery. చెరచూరలుపట్టు chera-chūralu-paṭṭu. v. t. To ransack or overhaul, to sack. చెరసాల chera-sāla. n. A prison house or dungeon. చెరబడు or చెరబోవు to be taken prisoner, to be captured or carried away.

(p. 519) tavvu or త్రవ్వు tavvu. [Tel.] v. a. or v. n. To dig. కాలుత్రవ్రు to paw or spurn the ground. to be eager for. ఊరక తవ్వుకొన్నట్టు అవుతుంది this is merely beating about the bush. పాతరతవ్వుకొను to open a closed grain pit. తవ్వకము or తవ్వాటము tavvakamu. n. Digging, excavation, breaking up soil. తవ్వించు tavvinṭsu. v. n. To cause to dig up. నా యిల్లు తవ్వించి సోదాచూచినారు they dug up the floor of my house and ransacked it. తవ్వుగోల or తవుగోల tavvugōla. n. A spade.

(p. 520) tāmbūlamu tāmbūlamu. [Skt.] n. The betel-leaf and areca nut formed into a parcel, ready for use. వక్కాకు. This is also a phrase for a douceur. తాంబూలము పుచ్చుకొను to take betel (which is generally offered ceremoniously to a stranger as a mark of respect.) To take an oath: (because such a ceremony is gone through when an oath or solemn engagement is taken.) The tambulamu likewise is given as the final or termination of every meal, every transaction and every religious rite. Thus తాంబూలమిచ్చు and తాంబూలముపుచ్చుకొను is to ratify most solemnly, as a betrothal; to swear an oath. తాంబూలవల్లి or తాంబూలి the betel vine.
