(p. 62) apanayamu apa-nayamu. [Skt.] n. Taking away, withdrawing, removing, destroying. తొలగించడము, దూరీకరణము, పోగొట్టడము. అపనయించు apanayinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To remove, do away with, dissipate. పోగొట్టు. 'ఎన్ని బాధల బెట్టిన నన్ని బాధలచ్యత్మసృతి చేతినేయపనయించి.' N. iv. 247.

(p. 62) apanēyamu apa-nēyamu. [Skt.] adj. That which is to be taken away, that which is to be removed. తీసివేయ తగ్గది. 'ఈయురణకంబులు రెండును నీచేత నపనేయంబుగా కుండవలయును.' Vish. vi. 74.

(p. 81) arivṭamu arishṭamu. [Skt.] n. Misfortune calamity. అశుభము, ఉపద్రము. అరిష్టనివారణము removal of calamity.

(p. 129) āsēdhamu āsēdhamu. [Skt.] n. Check, restraint. అడ్డగింత. Arrest: legal restraint; limitation of four kinds, viz.: కాలాసేధము limitation of time, స్ధానాసేధము confinement to a place, ప్రవాసాసేధము prohibition against removal or departure, కర్మాసేధము restriction from employment.

(p. 145) īrucu or ఈర్చు īruṭsu. [Tel.] v. t. To remove nits from the hair with a comb.

(p. 152) uḍugu uḍugu. [Tel.] v. n. To fall away, grow thin, lean or emaciated, decrease, to be cast off, to be removed as a stone or chain: to be exhausted. To pause, halt, stop. [Tel. causative of ఉడుగు] v. a., To weaken, to lower or starve. To loosen. To turn out, cause to leave, &c., to check, stop, bridle. To remove, do away with. పొగొట్టు.

(p. 152) uḍupu uḍupu. [Tel. causative of ఉడుగు] v. a. To efface, to turn out, to do away with, to wipe away, remove. To leave, to stop or cease. ఉడుగజేయు, ఉడిగించు.

(p. 159) uddhūtamu ud-dhūtamu. [Skt.] adj. Driven up, shaken off, scattered, removed. మీది కెగరగొట్టబడిన, పోగొట్టబడిన.

(p. 174) ūḍu ūḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To part, drop out, slip out, జారు, రాలు. To give way, fail: to be unfastened, loosened, separated. వదులగు. To flee, run away. పారిపోవు. తండ్రి నోట్లో ఊడిపడ్డాడు he is the very image of his father. ఊడగొట్టు to take out, root up. remove. ఊడదీయు to pull out, to take off (skin or clothes), to unloose. ఊడబీకు to root out. ఊడలాగు to pull out, to draw out.

(p. 184) eḍagillu or ఎడగిలియుండు eḍa-gillu. [Tel.] v. n. To stand out of the way, stand aside, get out of the way ఒత్తిగిల్లు. ఎడజేయు eḍa-jēyu. v. n. To do away with, abolish. ఎడతాకు eḍa-tāku. v. t. To meet, to unite. ఎడతీయు eḍa-tīyu. v. a. To remove or abstract. తొలగించు. ఎడతెగు eḍa-tegu. v. n. To break off, separate. ఎడతెగకుండ incessantly, without interval. ఎడతెరపి eḍa-terapi. n. Interval వ్యవధానము.

(p. 185) eḍapeṭṭu eda-peṭṭu. [Tel.] v. t. To remove out of the way తొలగించు. To keep aside for further use, as rice మారు వడ్డించుకొనుటకు అన్నమును వేరేగానుంచు.

To assume or take on oneself, to obtain or acquire (a name.) వహించు, పొందు. మంచి పేరెత్తు to acquire reputation. To cite, quote, mention, adduce, introduce a subject ప్రస్తావించు. మాటయెత్తు. To raise or levy (an army.) అతడు జన్మమెత్తెను he assumed a mortal body, he was born. ఎత్తివ్రాయు to copy out or extract from a book. గొంతెత్తిచదువు to read aloud. భిక్షమెత్తు to take or receive alms. తళుకులెత్తు to assume lustre or become bright. నోరెత్తు to open the mouth, to speak నేను నోరెత్తలేదు I did not open my lips. గుత్తయెత్తినాడు he undertook the contract. దండెత్తు he raised troops. తూము ఎత్తించు to open a sluice. అలుగెత్తు to open an అలుగు (q. v.) లంగరు ఎత్తు to weigh anchor. పరుగెత్తు to take a run, to run. ఎత్తుకొనివచ్చు to fetch, to bring away. పిల్లను ఎత్తుకొను to take up a child. ఎత్తుకొనిపోవు to carry away or remove, to steal. తిరిపెమెత్తు to take alms, to beg. విరులెత్తు to sprout, to send forth shoots.

(p. 207) oṭṭu oṭṭu. [Tel.] n. An oath శపథము. A penalty, curse, ban, interdiction నిరోధము. నిద్రపట్టితే ఒట్టు a curse on me if I slept! ఆ దారి చూపు, నేను పోకపోతే ఒట్టు shew me the way and it shall be my fault if I do not go. See ఆన. ఒట్టుపెట్టుకొను oṭṭu-peṭṭu-konu. v. i. To take an oath. ఒట్టుపెట్టు oṭṭu-peṭṭu. v. i. to adjure, to impose a vow or solemn promise. T. ii. 98. To ban or forbid by a curse. ఒట్టువిడుచు to remove an oath or interdiction ఆనవిడుచు.
