(p. 163) upasarga upa-sarga. [Skt.] n. A grammatical particle, a prefix or preposition. ఉపసర్గము upa-sargamu. n. A portent such as an eclipse, &c. ఉత్పాతము. 'ఉపసర్గాధిక హీన వృష్టి పటువాయువ్యాజ నానాసరీసృప దుర్భిక్ష జలాగ్ని దుష్టవిమ దాక్షేపాది దోషంబులందు.' V. P. vi. 349.

(p. 166) ubusu ubusu. [Tel.] n. Rest, repose, unemployed time. పని లేని కాలము. News, intelligence. వృత్తాంతము, సమాచారము. ఉబుసుపుచ్చు ubusu-puṭṭsu. v. To while away the time, to loiter, to idle, to trifle.

(p. 330) kōśamu kōṣamu. [Skt.] n. A repository. receptacle, place: the inside. A sheath, scabbard. కత్తివర. The cocoon or bag containing the silk worm. An egg గుడ్డు. కకోశమునందు silkr worm. హృదయకోశమునందు within the heart: at the bottom of one's heart. అండకోశము the scrotum.

(p. 383) gūḍu gūḍu. [Tel.] n. A nest. A case. A niche in a wall for a light దీపపుగూడు. A bird cage పం౛రము. A basket to keep fowls or lambs under. A cage or gauze placed over a sleeping infant. A hatch way on boardship. The socket of a joint. An insect's cocoon. పాచికగూడు a dice box. రెక్కగూడు సడలిపోయినది his shoulder is dislocated. గుండెగూడుపట్టి his heart being at repose. సులోచనపు గూడు a case for a pair of spectacles. గూడుబండి a cart with a mat cover. (p. 652) nidra nidra. [Skt.] n. Sleep. నిద్రపుచ్చు nidra-puṭsṭsu. v. t. To put to sleep, as an infant. జ్ఞాననిద్ర a mesmeric trance. నిద్రమబ్బు or నిద్రమత్తు nidra-mabbu. n. Drowsiness. నిద్రలేపు nidra-lēpu. v. a. To awake from sleep. నిద్రాణము nidrāṇamu. adj. Sleepy, drowsy. నిద్రాణుడు or నిద్రాళువు nidrāṇuḍu. n. A sleepy fellow, నిద్రపోతు. నిద్రించు, నిద్రచేయు, నిద్రిలు, నిద్రిల్లు or నిద్రపోవు nidrinṭsu. v. n. To go to sleep, repose. నిద్రింతము let us sleep. M. X. i. 65. నిద్రితుడు nidrituḍu. n. One who is asleep or reposing.

(p. 653) nidhi nidhi. [Skt.] n. A treasure. A repository. పాతర. The poets frequently mention the nine nidhis of Kubera, the god of riches: these are named పద్మ, మహాపద్మ, శంఖ, మగర, కచ్ఛప, ముకుంద, కుంద, నీల, వర. నిధినిక్షేపము a hidden treasure. గుణనిధి one who is a perfect assemblage of virtues. పరాక్రమనిధి he who is a perfect hero, a mine of valour.

(p. 720) paruṇḍu par-unḍu. [Tel. పడి+ఉండు.] v. n. To lie down, recline. repose, sleep. శయనించు, నిద్రించు. పరుండబెట్టు par-unḍa-beṭṭu. v. a. To lay down, put to sleep. పరున్న par-unna. part. Reclining, lying down.

(p. 1192) viśramamu or విశ్రామము vi-ṣramamu. [Skt.] n. Rest, repose, cessation from fatigue or work. విశ్రాంతి, ఊరట. In Telugu verse, it denotes a certain kind of rhyme. ఛందస్సులోయతి, పద్యవిరామము. విశ్రమించు vi-ṣraminṭsu. v. n. To rest, repose, or refresh oneself. అలయికతీర్చుకొను, ఊరడిల్లు, విశ్రమింపజేయు vi-ṣramimpa-jēyu. v. a. To place, lay, పరుండబెట్టు. 'వికృత కృష్ణాజనముపయిన్ విశ్రమింపజేసి.' Jaimini. Bh. vi. 93. విశ్రాంతము vi-ṣrāntamu. adj. Rested, reposed, refreshed after fatigue, శ్రమవిరతము, అలయికతీర్చుకోబడిన, ఊరడిల్లిన, విశ్రాంతి vi-ṣrānti. n. Rest, repose, refreshment. ఊరట, అలయికతీర్చుకోనడము.
