(p. 194) ēkamu ēkamu. [Skt.] pron. One. adj. Sole, single, only, general, universal, uniform, combined, matchless, unequalled, chief. Joined, combined. ఏకదీక్షగా unintermittingly, incessantly. ఏకముగా all at once, unitedly. ఏకతిరగడము ceaseless roaming. అతడు ఏకరీతిని ఉండే మనిషి he is a regular or steady person. రాత్రి యేకముగా మెరిసినది it lightened incessantly all night. ఏకము చేయు ēkamu-chēyu. v. a. To make one, unite, gather together. ఏకకాలంబున at one time, simultaneously. ఏకకాలీనుడు ēka-kālīnuḍu. n. A contemporary. వారున్ను వీరున్ను ఏకకాలీనులైనందున as these men were contemporaries: ఏకకుండలుడు ēka-kuṇḍaluḍu. [lit. Having one earring] n. An epithet of Kubera. ఏకగర్భజనితులు ēka-garbha-janitulu. adj. Uterine, of the full blood. అతడున్ను నేనున్ను ఏకగర్భజనితులము గనుక as he and I are sons of the same parents or uterine brothers. ఏకగ్రీవము ēka-grīvamu. adj. Unanimous, joint. ఏకగ్రీవముగా unanimously, jointly. ఏకచక్రాధిపతి, or ఏకఛత్రాధిపతి ēka-chakrādhipati. n. A sole ruler, an absolute monarch. ఏకచింత one sole or engrossing thought or pursuit. ఏకనిష్ఠగా ēka-nishṭha-gā. adv. With a single eye or intent, resolutely, faithfully, thoroughly, downright. ఏకపత్నీవ్రతుడు ēka-patnī-vratuḍu. n. A monogamist, a man with one wife. ఏకబోగ్రామము ēka-bhōga-grāmamu. n. A village held by one owner, or tenant. ఏకమనస్కులై ēka-manaṣkulai. adv. With fixed attention, with a single heart. అందరు ఏకమైన నా మీద పడ్డారు they fell upon me in a body. ఏకవర్ణముగానున్నది it is all of one sort or colour. భువనేకసుందరి an unrivalled beauty. ఏకశిలానగరము ēka-ṣilā-nagaramu. n. (lit. One stone-town.) A town built near a single rock or hill. The Skt. translation of ఒరంగల్లు Warungul a town in the Nizam's Territories. ఏకాధిష్ఠతము ēkā-dishṭhitamu. adj. (p. 294) kuduru kuduru. [Tel.] v. n. To settle. స్థిరమగు. To recover (from illness) స్వస్థమగు. To be set, arranged, fixed, settled. To be got, obtained, found, come to hand. To fit or suit. అనుకూలమగు. To be introduced into an employ, to enter on it. To become firm, resolute. To succeed, prosper, flourish. కుదిరిన వ్రాత a settled handwriting అంతా బాగా కుదిరినది all is now right or settled. గణములు కుదరలేదు the metre is defective. ఆ పని వానికి కుదిరినది he obtained that employment. నాకు ఇల్లు కుదరలేదు. I cannot obtain lodgings. కుదురుపాటు kuduru-pāṭu. n. Settlement, arrangement, cure, remedy. కుదురుచు or కుదుర్చు or కుడిరించు kuduruṭsu. (causal of కుదురు.) v. n. To restore, to settle or arrange, to curl, to heal, to pacify, to calm, to fix or place. కుదురు kuduru. n. (G. కుదిటి Loc. కుదుట. Plu. కుదుళ్లు.) n. Settlement. Symmetry, gracefulness, beauty. Trimness, orderliness. అమరిక. Health, perfection. A family వంశము. One branch of a family. A garden bed. పాదు. A support or prop ప్రాపు. a ledge, or rim, preventing grain falling out of a mortar. A settle or ring of cord to prevent a pot from rolling over. చనుకుదురు a cancer in the breast. వాడు ఒక కుదిటివాడు he belongs to one branch of the family. ఒక్క కుదురైయున్నారు they live as one family. కుదురుకొను or కుదురుపడు kuduru-konu. v. n. To settle, to be settled. కదలకనిలుచు, నెలకొను, స్థిరపడు.

(p. 351) gaṭṭi gaṭṭi. [Tel.] adj. Hard, firm, strong, substantial. Tight. Able, clever, expert. Brave, courageous, resolute, smart, fine. Loud. గట్టిచెర close imprisonment. గట్టిబొట్టు Full sunna, or the circle -- Appa C. ii. 27. గట్టిమోపుగానుండేదారి a very heavy road. గట్టించు gaṭṭinṭsu. v. a. To load a gun, to beat into a hard mass. గట్టనచేయు. గట్టిగా or ఘట్టిగా gaṭṭi-gā. adv. Well, strongly. Properly, tight, fast. Eminently, especially, seriously, greatly. Loudly, aloud. గట్టిగా రావలసినది you must positively come. గట్టిగా చదువు read aloud. ఇల్లు గట్టిగానున్నది the house is in good condition or is solid-built. గట్టిచేయు gaṭṭi-chēyu. v. a. To make firm. పాఠము గట్టిచేయు to get a lesson by heart. వాడు ఇస్తానన్నమాటను గట్టిచేయుము you should make him keep his promise. గట్టితనము gaṭṭi-tanamu. n. Cleverness, ability. గట్టినాణెము gaṭṭi-nāṇemu. n. Bullion. గట్టినబోది gaṭṭina-bōdi. n. A game played by boys. కాళ. iii. గట్టివ gaṭṭiva. [గట్టి+వాయి.] n. An isolent man. ధూర్తుడు. గట్టివాడు gaṭṭi-vāḍu. n. An able or skilful man. సమర్థుడు. గట్టివాయి gaṭṭi-vāyi. n. A brawling woman. గయ్యాళి, ధూర్తురాలు.

(p. 606) dṛḍhamu dṛiḍhamu. [Skt.] adj. Hard, solid, strong, firm, bulky, massive. Able, mighty, brave, resolute, confirmed, certain, sure, real. గట్టి, బలిసిన. దృఢదంశక dṛiḍha-damṣaka. n. Lit: That which is hard toothed,--an epithet applied to monsters. దృఢమతి dṛiḍha-mati. n. Steadfast faith. దృఢలోను dṛiḍha-lōma. adj. Bristly, shaggy, rough, hairy. దృఢత dṛiḍhata. n. Firmness, steadfastness, greatness, certainty.

(p. 621) dhāṭi dhāṭi. [Skt.] n. A rush. An attack, an assault. An inroad, incursion, invasion. దండయాత్ర, దాడి. ధాటికల dhāṭi-kala. adj. Resolute, firm, decided, decisive, fluent, well versed. ధాటిగా dhāṭi-gā. adj. Decisively, decidedly, resolutely, firmly, trimly, spiritedly, briskly.

(p. 1381) haṭhamu haṭhamu. [Skt.] n. Obstinacy, violence, severity, contumacy. మూర్ఖత, మొండితనము, ముష్కరత. బలాత్కారము. A kind of meditation, యోగభేదము. హఠముసాధించు to presevere in obstinacy. హఠము తీర్చుకొను to pay a grudge. హఠముపట్టు to be obstinate. adj. Stubborn, obstinate, pertinacious, resolute, determined. ముర్ఖమైన, మొండి, పిడివాదముగల. హఠంబుగా haṭhambu-gā. adv. Pertinaciously, stubbornly. మూర్ఖముగా, ముష్కరముగా. 'స్థాణుండైన హఠంబుగా నిలువకుండన్ ద్రోతురు.' T. ii. 18. హతయోగము haṭha-yōgamu. n. Abstract contemplation, whilst suspending the breath. This is generally a method of austre devotion, such as standing on one leg, holding up the arms, inhaling smoke, with the head inverted, &c. It is opposed to Raja yogam. కఠినమైన తపస్సు. హఠవాది haṭha-vādi. n. A violent man, a determined or obstinate man. పట్టిన పట్టు విడువనివాడు. హఠాత్, హఠాత్తుగా or హఠాత్తున haṭhāt. adv. Suddenly, unawares. దబ్బున, లటక్కున అదరిపాటున, హఠాత్కరించు haṭhāt-kar-inṭsu. v. a. To force, compel, ravish. బలాత్కారముచేయు. హఠారంబుగా haṭhārambu-gā. adv. Violently, fiercely. ఉగ్రముగా.
