(p. 4) aṅke anke. [Tel.] n. A numerical figure అంకము. Opportunity, time. One pack, half a bullock load. A form of అణక. Bringing the yoke under the neck, as by a troublesome bullock. ఎద్దులు అంకె వేసికొన్నవి the bullocks turned restive, bringing the yoke under the neck. A command, authority, control, restraint, check. అంకెగొను v. i. To cover oneself with కప్పుకొను. అంకెచేయు v. i. To obstruct అడ్డగించు.అంకెకురాని,(భాస్క.2.) ungovernable. అంకెకురావు, అనగా అక్కరకురావు they will not be of any use. అంకెవేసికొను or అణకవేసికొను v. n. To be restive, as a bullock in the yoke. ఎద్దయకాడికెదురు తిరుగుట. నాడు తేపతేపకు అంకెవేసికొనును. he turns restive every now and then.

(p. 32) aṭṭāni aṭṭāni. n. [Tel.] A stone seat or low wall, built for carriers to place their loads on when resting.

(p. 39) aṇaka aṇaka. [Tel.] n. The act of bringing the yoke under the neck. అణకలు వేసికొను v. n. To go wrong, turn restive, as a bullock which turns the wrong way in the yoke. ఎద్దుగాని గుర్రముగాని నోగ కెదురు తిరుగు. 'వెగడొందిరవితేరి నమొగలగట్టినయట్టి వాహంబు లణకలువైచికొనియె.' విక్ర iv. 51. తిన్నగా జరగనీయక మటిమాటికి అణకలు వేసికొంటాడు instead of going on smoothly he now and then turns restive.

(p. 276) kālaṭaka kāl-aṭaka. [Tel. కాలు+అటక.] n. A stick resting in the wall at each end, and serving as a shelf to support pots, &c.

(p. 349) gambhīramu gambhīramu. [Skt.] adj. Deep, profound, secret. లోతుగల. Serious, fearful. భయంకరమైన. గంభీరవేది gambhīra-vēdi. n. A very intoxiacated or restive elephant.

(p. 440) cadaramu ṭsadaramu. [Skt.] adj. Square, level, even. n. A square. చదరములు ṭsadaramulu. n. The beams of the roof, resting on short upright ones.

(p. 576) daṇḍemu or దండియము danḍemu. [Tel.] n. A cord line, or pole on which clothes are hung to dry. A kind of gymnastic exercise. దండెములుతీయు to perform a kind of gymnastic exercise, which consists in resting the hands on the ground and moving the body to and fro. కాళ్లు చేతులు నేలను మోపి ముందుకు వెనుకకు ఊగుట. శశాం. iii.

(p. 1178) vinōdamu vinōdamu. [Skt.] n. Play, sport, pastime; an interesting pursuit, pleasure. స్త్రీ పురుషులు క్రీడాదులచేత కాలయాపనచేయడము, క్రీడ, వేడుక విలాసము. మృగయావినోదము pleasures of the chase. 'ఇమ్మెయి బ్రహ్మాండ ప్రళయంబులనేకములుచనియెనవియెల్లవినోదమ్ములు నారాయణునకు.' Vish. i. 54. వినోది vinōdi. n. One who is delighted or made happy, one who delights in. ఉల్లాసముగలవాడు. కలహవినోది one who loves quarrelling. 'కర్మాకర్మములొక్కటికర్మవినోదునకు తత్వఘనును దెలియున్.' Vēma. 529. విప్రవినోదులు sham priests, a certain caste of beggars who call themselves Brahmins. వినోదించు vinōdinṭsu. v. n. To revel, play, sport, rejoice, సంతోషించు, క్రీడించు, క్రీడాదులచేత ప్రొద్దుపుచ్చు.

(p. 1220) vēḍuka or వేడ్క vēḍuka. [Tel.] n. A spectacle, show, display, pomp, feast, festival. Curiosity, interest, joy, glee, delight. కుతూహలము, సంతోషము, వినోదము; సంబరము, ఇచ్ఛ, అభిలాష. వేడుకపడు to be happy or pleased. adj. Novel, curious. Delightful, pleasant, amusing. Happy, pleased. వినోదకరము, కుతూహలమైన, సంబరమైన. నిండావేడుకగా నుండినారు they were much pleased, very merry. వేడుకగా or వేడ్కగా vēḍuka-gā. adv. Pompously, splendidly, in an interesting manner, pleasantly, happily, cheerfully. సంబరముగా, జంబముగా. వేడుకకత్తె vēḍuka-katte. n. A belle. A courtezan, a harlot, an adulteress. జారస్త్రీ, వేశ్య. వేడుకకాడు or వేడ్కగాడు vēḍuka-kāḍu. n. A fop, a man of pleasure, a lover, an adulterer. విటుడు, క్రీడాసక్తుడు. One who takes a delight in anything, కుతూహలపరుడు, అపేక్షకుడు, వినోదకరుడు. వేడుక౛ూదము vēḍu-ka-ḍzūdamu. n. Gambling for pleasure. వేడుకపడు, వేడ్కపడు, వేడుకచేయు or వేడ్కనేయు vēḍuka-paḍu. v. n. To rejoice, to be delighted, to desire eagerly, కుతూహలపడు, అపేక్షించు.
