(p. 425) ceṅgu chengu. [Tel.] n. A skirt, border, edge. కొంగు, అంచు. In marriage the couple are tied together by the corners of their skirts. Hence, ఈ పనికి చెంగువేసినాడు he is wedded to this business. నీకు చెంగుకట్టినాను I am irrevocably thy servant. చెంగుపట్టి అడుగు to seize one by the skirt as a beggar does.

(p. 528) tippu or త్రిప్పు tippu. [Tel.] v. n. To turn: to be giddy. తలతిప్పుచున్నది my head turns. I am giddy. v. a. (causal of తిరుగు.) To turn, to reverse. To steer or command (a ship.) To wind up (a watch.) To wield or brandish. To revoke, rescind, or alter (an order.) To lead about. To turn or check (as disease.) తిప్పుత్రాళ్లు the cords that turn a churn. n. (p. 531) tirugu tirugu. [Tel.] v. n. To turn, rove, roam, travel. సంచరించు To be giddy. పరిభ్రమించు. To go back. వెనుకకుమరలు. To come again. మరలవచ్చు. To cease, go off, as, disease, be revoked, as an order.
