(p. 254) karma or కర్మము karma. [Skt. √ kri = to do.] n. An act or deed: action in general. పని. Religious action, such as sacrifice; ablution. Actions, conduct, a course of procedure. Destiny; fate, that is, the allotment, to be enjoyed or suffered in the present life, of the fruit of the good and evil actions performed in former lives. Moral duty; obligation imposed by peculiarities of tribe, occupation, &c. Funeral rites. The object of a verb in Grammar. వాని కర్మము ఎవ్వరు చేసినారు who performed his funeral rites? An art, as శిల్పకర్మము the art of statuary. Doing: ఇది నీకర్మమే this is all your doing, it is your own fault. Ill hap, misfortune, hard lot: affliction. అయ్యో కర్మమా O dear! oh what a pity! కర్మము or పాపకర్మము a sinful deed. కర్మజీవి See కర్మఠుడు. కర్మఠము karmaṭhamu. [Skt.] n. Ceremonial precision. కర్మఠుడు karmaṭhuḍu. n. A formalist, a ritualist: one who is earnest in the performance of the rites of religion. కార్యమును చివరవరకు సాధించేవాడు. కర్మణిక్రియ karmaṇi-kriya. n. A transitive verb. అకర్మక్రియ an intransitive verb. కర్మరంగము karma-rangamu. n. The five sided sour green plum called Averrhoa Carambola, or అంబాణవుకాయ. కర్మసాక్షి karma-sākshi. n. (p. 456) chāndasa chhāndasa. [Skt.] adj. Free, subject to no rule, sacred: as the style of some ancient books which being inspired, the broken metres cannot be corrected according to prosody. ఛాందసము cḥānda-samu. n. Silliness, the stupidity of a mere bookworm, simplicity, awkwardness. That part of an almanac which lays down the (వైదికము) diurnal rites: ఛాందసుడు chhāndasuḍu. n. A textualist, a ritualist: శ్రోత్రియుడు. A mere silly book-worm: a monk.

(p. 990) mīmāṃsa mīmāmsa. [Skt.] n. A discussion or disputation held to find out the truth regarding anything. ప్రమాణైరర్థవిచారణ, ప్రమాణములచేత నిజము గ్రహించడము. Polemical divinity. Theological criticism. The name of one of the six great Indian philosophical systems, పూర్వ మీమాంస is a system of ritualism. ఉత్తరమీమాంస is a system practically the same as the వేదాంతము, జ్ఞానకాండ. పుత్రీకరణమీమాంస is a 'treatise' (or essay) on adopting a daughter. మీమాంసచేయు to dispute, argue. మీ యిద్దరికి ఇందును గురించి చాలా మీమాంసజరిగినది we had a great discussion about this matter. మీమాంసకుడు mīmāmsakuḍu. n. One who knows the Mīmānsa system of philosophy, మీమాంస శాస్త్రము తెలిసినవాడు.

(p. 1346) sūkṣmamu sūkshmamu. [Skt.] adj. Little, small, minute, atomic, fine, subtle, delicate. Ingenious, subtile, clever, smart, quick కొంచెము, సన్నమైన, చురుకుగల. సూక్ష్మమైనపని delicate work. సూక్ష్మముగా తెలుపుటకు to explain in a few words. సూక్ష్మదృష్టి quick sight. సూక్ర్మబుద్ధి a clever or keen intellect. సూక్ష్మశరీరము the spiritual body. సూక్ష్మరూపము the atomic or spiritual form, the ideal body, as distinguished from the bodily shape, the spiritual image. సూక్ష్మావస్థ the invisible or essential condition, spirituality as opposed to corporeal being. సూక్ష్మము or సూక్ష్మత sūkshmamu. n. An atom. Fineness, delicacy, peculiarity, nicety. సూక్ష్మాంత్రములు the small intestines.
