(p. 34) aḍadaḍi aḍadaḍi. [Tel.] n. Reign, rule. ఏలడము, ప్రభుత్వము. ఆయన ఆ దేశమును అడదడిచేయుచుండెను he ruled the country. అడదడి or అడావడి ravage, riot. అల్లరి, దడబిడలు, దౌడు. అడదడి చేయు to ravage. See అడావడి.

(p. 46) adhipati adhi-pati. [Skt.] n. A ruler, lord master, owner, ఏలేవాడు, ప్రభువు.

(p. 46) adhipuḍu adhipuḍu. [Skt.] n. Lord, ruler, master. ఏలిక.

(p. 51) anāyakamu a-nāyakamu. [Skt.] adj. n. Being without a leader. Used for అరాజకము. Anarchy, misrule, confusion. అనాయకుడు n. He who is forlorn or helpless. దిక్కుమాలిన వాడు, నాధుడు లేనివాడు.

(p. 52) animiṣamu a-nimishamu. [Skt.] n. Winklessness. అనిమిషత్వము n. Divinity, apotheosis. దేవత్వము. అనిమిషుడు or అనిమేషుడు n. A god. దేవత. అనిమిషపతి 'ruler of the gods' (a title of Indra or Jupiter.)

(p. 66) appuḍu appuḍu. [Tel. from ఆ+పొద్దు] adv. Then, at that time (This is also used as a defective noun.) Dative అప్పటికి at that time, అప్పట్లో (locative) at that time. అప్పటినుంచి since that time. అట్లా చెప్పేటప్పటికి when he said so. మరియొకప్పుడు at another time. In compounds it means 'When', as వాడు వచ్చినప్పుడు when he came. ఒకప్పుడు వచ్చెను ఒకప్పుడు రాకపోయెను he sometimes came and sometimes stayed away. అప్పుడే (emphatic form) just then, already. అప్పుడే పుట్టిటనబిడ్డ a child just born. అప్పుడప్పుడు now and then. అప్పటిరాజులు the rulers of those days, the then princes.

(p. 74) amalu amalu. [H.] Authority, reign, sway, government. An office or post, a public charge. Execution, fulfilment, the period of one ruler's government. ఏలుబడి, దొరతనము, హయాము. అతని అమలులో in his reign or sway. ఆ కలెక్టరు గారి అమలులో in that Collector's days. ఆ తీర్పు అమలులోకి తేబడిన తరువాత after the decision was executed. వాని మీద అమలుచేసినారు they took steps against him, they put in force against him. అమల్దారుడు an Amildar, i.e., one who exercises authority. One who puts government orders into force. A Tahsildar or revenue officer in charge of Taluq.

(p. 102) asādhuvu a-sādhuvu. [Skt.] adj. Not mild, not in conformity with the rule. Wicked, bad. సాధువుకాని, చెడ్డ, దుష్ట.

(p. 109) āgaḍamu āgaḍamu. [Tel.] n. Sport, jesting, fun, wantonness. ఆగడకాడు or ఆగడీడు āgaḍakāḍu n. A scoffer, one who teases. ఆగడముచేయు āgaḍamu-chēyu. To tease, sport with. అగడనృపుడు (P. i. 520.) a troublesome master, a wanton ruler, a tyrant.

(p. 137) ibhamu ibhamu. (Skt of elephant. Gr. elephas.] An elephant. ఇభయాన ibhayāna. n. A graceful woman, i. e., a woman with an elephant's easy and luxurious rolling gait. ఇభి ibhi. n. A she-elephant ఇభ్యుడు ibhyuḍu. A ruler, rich man. (A. ii. 125.)

(p. 146) īśvari īṣvari. n. The goddess Parvati, wife of Siva. ఈశ్వరీ or ఈశ్వరీచెట్టు worm-wood. నాగదమని. H. iv. 12. ఈశ్వరుడు īṣvaruḍu. n. Lord, king, the supreme ruler of the universe: God A name of Siva, especially in a compound, when the image meant is a linga, as Visvesvara, Rameswara, &c.

(p. 157) udāharaṇamu udāharaṇamu. [Skt.] n. An example, instance, or illustration of any rule or precept. ఉదాహరించు udāharinṭsu. v. a. To instance, mention. చెప్పు, దృష్టాంతముగా చెప్పు.

(p. 167) ummalikāḍu ummali-kāḍu. n. A ruler. అధికారి. 'శ్రవణయు గాంతరావరణ చక్రము లగ్గలు పట్టుతోరపుంజెవుడు కనీనికావసుధసీమకు నుమ్మలికాడు.' P. i. 379.
