(p. 402) ghrāṇamu ghrāṇamu. [Skt.] n. The nose. ముక్కు. Smelling, A smell. ఘ్రాణోత్సవము ghrāṇōṭsavamu. n. A treat for the nose, i.e., sweet savour. ఘ్రాతము ghrātamu. adj. Scented, smelled. మూర్కొనబడిన.

(p. 449) cuṭṭamu ṭsuṭṭamu. [Tel. from చుట్టు.] n. Kin, kindred. బంధుత్వము a relation, a kinsman or kinswoman బంధువు. చుట్టపక్కములు kindred, kith and kin--here పక్కము has no meaning. A proverb says. తలచుట్టము తోకపగ I like the head but hate the tail, i.e., I avow one kinsman and disavow another. చుట్టరికము ṭsuṭṭa-rikamu. n. Kinship, relationship.

(p. 568) trayamu trayamu. [Skt.] n. A trio. Three collectively, మూటిసమూహము. కవిత్రయము వారు the three poets, i.e., the Telugu poets, నన్నయ, తిక్కన and ఎర్రాప్రెగ్గడ. కాలత్రయము at all hours, morn, noon and night. లోకత్రయము the universe, i.e., heaven, earth and hell, పరలోకము, భూలోకము, పాతాళలోకము. (p. 800) poṅgali or పొంగళి pongali. [Tel.] n. Rice boiled with milk. పొంగలిపండుగ a Hindu festival at which this dish is used, the Pongal feast, సంక్రాంతి, సంక్రమణము, సంక్రమాణము. చక్కారపొంగలి a savoury mess of rice, split pulse, spices, and sugar; a sacrifice of a goat or a fowl to a village goddess. పొంగలిపెట్టిరి they offered a bloody sacrifice. H. v. 15.

(p. 887) bisibisi bisi-bisi. [Tel. anuk.] adj. Sweet and savoury. లగువుబిగువుకల, ముద్దుగానున్న. బిసిబిసిమాటలు charming prattle. ముద్దు మాటలు. 'మరియునెన్నియుం బిసిబిసిమాటలమర, బ్రియముచెప్పియునదరవైచియు హితాను, వృత్తి దెలిపియునొకకొంత మెత్తబడగ, జేసి.' ప్రభావతీ ప్రద్యుమ్నము. v. 18.

(p. 1266) ṣāḍabamu or షాడవము shāḍabamu. [Skt.] n. Flavour, taste, savour. రసము, (అనగా ఉప్పు, కారము, పులుసు మొదలైనవి.) Music, singing, గానము, రాగజాతివిశేషము, అనగా షట్స్వరమిళితరాగములు. 'నానావిధషాడబముల.' A. iv. 331. టీ షడ్రసనిర్మితభోజనముల.

(p. 1378) svārasyamu svā-rasyamu. [for Skt. సారస్యము.] adj. Pleasing, delicious, good, excellent. స్వారస్యము or సారస్యము svā-rasyamu. n. Sweetness, juiciness, savouriness. Pathos, spirit, fire. రసము, సత్త, గుణము. మీరు అక్కడికి వెళ్లినందువల్ల స్వారస్యము లేదు there is no advantage in your going there. 'చనిగాని పలుకుల స్వారస్యమేమి.' Dab. 141.
