(p. 217) ōḍu ōḍu. [Tel.] v. n. or v. a. To fail, lose, to be defeated or worsted, అపజయపడు. To flow or be lost, as blood, పారు. To shrink, hesitate, fall back భయపడు, సంకోచించు. ఆట ఓడినాడు he lost the game. జీవహింసకోడి shrinking or hesitating to take away life. ఓడుపడు to be frightened. వర్రు ఓడ అనగా ప్రవాహముగా పారు to rush, as a flood. M. Xiii. ii. 451. మీమోము చూడనోడి unable to look you in the face. ఓడకోడకు fly not! flee not.

(p. 504) tattara or తత్తరము tattara. [Tel. తర+తర.] n. Perplexity, embarrassment, agitation, violent emotion, shuddering, shrinking. సంభ్రమము. Grief. తత్తరపడు tattara-paḍu. v. n. To be perplexed or agitated. To shudder or tremble. సంభ్రమించు. తత్తరపాటు. tattara-pāṭu. n. Agitation. తత్తరబిత్తరయ్యె he was at a loss. తత్తరించు or తత్తరవెట్టు tattarinṭsu. v. a. To perplex, trouble. తత్తరించు or తత్తరిల్లు v. n. To shudder, tremble. సంభ్రమపడు, చలించు.

(p. 1270) saṅkōcamu san-kōchamu [Skt.] n. Shrivelling, contraction, shrinking, shutting, closing, ముడుచుకోవడము, ముకుళించడము. Narrowness, straitness, ఇరుకు. Backwardness, diffidence, bashfulness, modesty, ౛ంకు, బిడియము. Hesitation, reluctance, సంశయము. సంకోచించు san-kōchinṭsu. v. n. To shrivel up or contract. To hesitate, be reluctant, be bashful or timid, ముడుచుకొను అనుమానించు, వెనుకదీయు, ౛ంకు.
