(p. 68) abvābu abvābu. [H.] n. (Lit. Doors, chapters.) Miscellaneous revenue accounts. 'The usual heads in Revenue accounts are Mal and Abwab. The Mal or Regular revenue is collected on land and customs, including taxes on liquors, &c The Abwab, or Miscellaneous includes the difference of exchange (often considerable) between that of the market and the fixed rate at which the revenue of the district is paid, casual aid or support of the Government officers, fees to the shroff, and contributions to various feasts.' (p. 1400) kukkagōḍugu kukka-goḍugu. [Tel.] n. Lit. a ' dog 's umbrella. ' A fungus, toad-stool, mushroom, వుట్టగొడుగు.

(p. 387) goḍugu goḍugu. [Tel.] n. An umbrella. అతపత్రము, ఛత్రము. కుక్కగొడుగు a toadstool, a fungus, a mushroom. In palmistry, the name of a certain line in the palm. గొడుగుకామలు or గొడుగు కాడలు goḍugu-kāmalu. n. Staves foor umbrellas. గొడుగుబల్ల goḍugu-ballu. n. A piece of wood in which the upper hinge of a door turns. తలుపుమీదికుబుసముతిరిగేపట్టె.

(p. 456) chatramu chhatramu. [Skt.] n. An umbrella, a parasol, a canopy of state. గొడుగు. ఛత్రభంగము chhatra-bhangamu. n. Fall, dethronement, deposition. రాజ్య నాశము. Widowhood ముండమోసితనము. (The umbrella is an ensign of royalty; and denotes any cover or defence, as a husband, &c.) ఛత్రాకము or ఛత్రాకువు chhatrākamu. n. A mushroom. పుట్టగొడుగు. A. iv. 143.

(p. 642) nāṭu nāṭu. [Tel.] v. n. &a. To plant or fix. గుచ్చు. To impress, as with the nails. To prick or pierce, గుచ్చుకొను. To transfix. నైజగుణంబులు నాటంగచెప్పి they represented it most impressively. నా మాట నీ చెవికి నాటచెప్పెద my words shall pierce thine ears. నా మాటలు వానిచెవిలో ములుకులైనాటెను my words pierced his heart. n. Planting, నాటుట. A wound, (G. X. 152.) a dent: the first or preparatory step, as a chop before striking with the axe. The dent sometimes made on a coin in proving it, called also సూలాకి; hence the నాట్లవట్టము is the loss on shroffage. నాటువేసిన rooted. నాటుకొను nāṭu-konu. v. n. To be fixed in anything. నెలకొను. నాలుకొలుపు to cause to be fixed, నెలకొలుపు. నాటనము or నాట్నము nāṭanamu. n. Planting little sprouts or young plants, నారులోనగువానిని నాటుట. నాటించు nāṭinṭsu. v. a. To plant, fix firmly.

(p. 765) puṭṭa puṭṭa. [Tel.] n. An ant hill, వల్మీకము. పాముపుట్ట an ant hill in which a snake lives. నాగులచవితికి పుట్టలో పాలుపోయుదురు they pour milk in a snake's hole on the feastday called Nāgula Ṭsaviti. A pack, number, collection, lot heap, crowd. ఆ యిల్లు చీమలపుట్టగా నున్నది the house is a regular ant's nest. ఆ పుస్తకము అబద్ధాలపుట్టగానున్నది that book is a pack of lies. వాని ఒళ్లు వట్టినరములపుట్ట he is mere skin and bone. పుట్టకాపు or పుట్టకూడుదిండి puṭṭa-kāpu. n. Lit: That which feeds on ant hills, i.e., a bear, ఎలుగుగొడ్డు. పుట్టకాలు puṭṭa-kālu. n. A leg swollen with elephantiasis, బూరకాలు, ఏనుగుకాలు. 'పుట్టకాల్ సొట్టవ్రేల్ వట్టివ్రేలుంజెవుల్.' Jagan. i. 54. పుట్టకాలివాడు one who is afflicted with elephantiasis in the leg. పుట్టకుడు puṭṭa-kūḍu. n. The heart of an ant hill, the red earth that contains the eggs. A fungus. కుక్కగొడుగు. 'వ పొట్టకైపుట్టకూటికిం జీమలకుం జెదలునకు నెలుంగులు గలుగులం బుట్టలు నిశితనిజ నఖరకులిశ కోటులంగోరాడ.' Swa. iv. 49. పుట్టకొక్కు, పుట్టగొడుగు or పుట్టచేర్పు puṭṭa-kokku. n. A mushroom, toadstool, fungus. M. XII. v. 418. పుట్టకోట puṭṭa-kōta. n. A bulwark, a buttress. కోటకు కోటబైట వేసిన మట్టితిన్నె. పుట్టకోవలు the pointed tops of ant hills, పుట్టమీదిశిఖరములు. పుట్టగోచి puṭṭa-gōchi. n. A large modesty piece. పెద్దగోచి, కాపీనము. పుట్టచిలుక puṭṭa-chiluka. n. The Sirkeer Cuckoo. Taccocua leschnenaultii, (F.B.I.) పుట్టచూలు or పుట్టపుట్టువు puṭṭa-ṭsūlu. n. He who was 'born of an ant hill.' This is a word translated from the Sanscrit name వాల్మీకి. Vālmīki. పుట్టతమ్మచెట్టు puṭṭa-tamma-cheṭṭu. n. A large creeping plant, the fruit of which is used medicinally. పుట్టతేనె puṭṭa-tēne. n. Honey found in an ant-hill. పుట్టతేలు puṭṭa-tēlu. n. The large black scorpion, so called because found in rubbish. మరిడ్రగబ్బ. పుట్టముంగి puṭṭa-mungi. n. Lit: A mongoose on an ant hill, used as a type of composure. adj. Demure. అది తిట్టుచుండగా పుట్టముంగివలె మారకయుండినాడు she reviled him but he stood stock still. పుట్టలమ్మ puṭṭal-amma. n. A village goddess.

A soul that is thrown into hell. నరకస్థితప్రాణి. ప్రేతకర్మములు prēta-karmamulu. n. Funeral or obsequial rites. దినవారములు. ప్రేతత్వము prētatvamu. n. (p. 862) baccu or బచ్చువాడు baṭsṭsu. [Tel.] n. A Vaisya, Chetty or Komati, వైశ్యుడు. A treasurer, బొక్కసమునకధికారి. One who tests silver and gold, వెండి బంగారముల నాణెముచూచువాడు.
