To incur censure, to be blamed. నిందింపబడు. ఆరడిపెట్టు āraḍi-peṭṭu. v. a. To scorn, slight, To grieve, afflict. ఆరడిపోవు āraḍi-pōvu. v. n. To be the sport of scandal, to be slandered. To grieve. ఉ 'మొల్లసుగంధినామనసు మోహమునారడిబెట్టినీవు న న్నొల్లకవీడనాడెద వయో తగవా.' V. P. ii. 240.

(p. 195) ēku ēku. [Tel.] v. a. To beat కొట్టు. To pick, beat, or clean cotton. ఏకినదూది cleaned cotton. To slander, defame. దూరు, నిందించు. వాణ్ని యేకి కాకులకు పెట్టినారు they defamed him. ఏకించు ēkinṭsu. [the causal of ఏకు] v. t. To cause to pick or clean cotton. అతని చేత దూదిని యేకించినారు they made him clean the cotton. ఏకు n. A flock of cotton or wool. ఏకులువడుకు to spin cotton. ఏకుడు ēkuḍu.n. Cleaning cotton. దూదిని యేకడము.

To lean, bend, bow down, slant, be inclined, recline or lie down, to be weighed down, as scales. వంగు, వాలు. ఒరగి crouching, hiding. పడవ ఒరిగెను the boat leant on one side. ఒరిగి పడినాడు he tumbled down. మిన్నొరిగినట్లు crashingly, suddenly, as though the skies were falling, ఆ లెక్కను నామీద నొరగదోసినాడు he got that debt charged against me. ఒరగు n. Crookedness వంపు. ఒరగు, ఒరగుదిండు, ఒరగుడుదిండు, or ఒరగుబిళ్ల a cushion or large pillow to lean against. adj. Crooked వంపైన. ఒరగుపోవు or ఒరగబడు Same as ఒరగు. q.v.

(p. 214) orudala oru-dala. [Tel.] n. A hole ఎలుక బొక్క. P. ii. 117. Solitude ఏకాంతము. Talebearing, backbiting చాడీలు చెప్పుట, కొండెములు చెప్పుడ, కొండెకానితనము Miserliness పైశున్యము. ఒరుదలకాడు orudala-kāḍu. n. A wretch: a miser పిశునుడు. A. iv. 167. A talebearer. A backbiter, a slanderer, a tell-tale, కొండెకాడు. 'మొదలన యొరుదలకానిం జెదరంగానాడకాత్మ జింతింపుపదిం బదిగమృషయేని మరివిడు మదముస్తుగజేయకుండు మొక్క మతమునన్.' A. iv. 267.

(p. 219) ōragillu ōragillu. [Tel.] v. n. To turn aside, to slant. ఓరుగు, ఒదుగు, ఓరగించు ora-ginṭsu. v. i. To turn aside. కొమ్ములోరగింపుచు, pointing its horns, or turning them. BD. v. 241.

(p. 219) ōrapāṭu ōra-pāṭu. [Tel.] n. Leaning against a thing. ఓరగుడు. ఓరపోవు ōra-pōvu. v. i. To bend, to be slanting వంగు, ఒరగు.

(p. 237) katti katti. [Tel.] n. A knife. A sword. తీసినకత్తితీరు బిత్తలియై నిలిచినది she stood as a drawn sword. A measure of land, which differs in various districts. It is considered to be as much as a man can reap in one day. In the Government accounts a 'cutty' is rated at 40 acres and 14 గుంటలు (q. v.) This phrase, which means a 'sword of land' implies that this quantity of land was assigned to a family which furnished the feudal lord one fighting man. కత్తికట్టేదొర katti-kaṭṭē-dora. An officer, a gentleman who wears a sword. కత్తికాసు katti-kāsu. n. A carpenter's tool for squaring. కత్తిపిట్టి katti-piṭṭa. The Cuckoo called Hierococcyx varius. చిన్న కత్తిపిట్ట The Indian plaintive cuckoo, Cacomantis passcrinus. (F.B.I.) కత్తిపిడిక a basket in which a toddy drawer keeps his knives ఈండ్రవాని కత్తుల బుట్ట. కత్తిపీట katti-pīṭa. n. A large knife standing slantwise in a block of wood upon which vegetables are sliced. కత్తిబళ్లెము katti ballemu. A 'sword spear,' a scythe-like blade mounted as a spear.

(p. 242) kannamu kannamu. [Tel.] n. A hole made by burglars through a wall. నేలకన్నము a way dug under a wall by thieves. BD. v. 701. కన్నపుకత్తి kannapu-katti. n. A housebreaker's wrench. A sharpened bar of iron to bore a hole through a wall. కన్నపుముట్టు or కన్నకోల kannapu-muṭṭu. A crowbar used in digging such a hole; called in thieves' slang, a jemmy, betty, or a rook. కన్నముపెట్టు or కన్నమువేయు kannamu-peṭṭu. v. n. To commit burglary, to dig through a wall.

(p. 294) kudīlu or కుదేలు kudīlu [Tel. a slang word used at cards.] n. An attempt to make five tricks at cards. చీట్లపేక ఆటలో అయిదు పట్లుపట్టుతానని చేసే ప్రతిజ్ఞ.
