(p. 237) katti katti. [Tel.] n. A knife. A sword. తీసినకత్తితీరు బిత్తలియై నిలిచినది she stood as a drawn sword. A measure of land, which differs in various districts. It is considered to be as much as a man can reap in one day. In the Government accounts a 'cutty' is rated at 40 acres and 14 గుంటలు (q. v.) This phrase, which means a 'sword of land' implies that this quantity of land was assigned to a family which furnished the feudal lord one fighting man. కత్తికట్టేదొర katti-kaṭṭē-dora. An officer, a gentleman who wears a sword. కత్తికాసు katti-kāsu. n. A carpenter's tool for squaring. కత్తిపిట్టి katti-piṭṭa. The Cuckoo called Hierococcyx varius. చిన్న కత్తిపిట్ట The Indian plaintive cuckoo, Cacomantis passcrinus. (F.B.I.) కత్తిపిడిక a basket in which a toddy drawer keeps his knives ఈండ్రవాని కత్తుల బుట్ట. కత్తిపీట katti-pīṭa. n. A large knife standing slantwise in a block of wood upon which vegetables are sliced. కత్తిబళ్లెము katti ballemu. A 'sword spear,' a scythe-like blade mounted as a spear.

A sort of spade for cutting turf. చెక్కొను chek-konu. v. n. (middle voice of చెక్కు.) To adjust, trim, set right. చెక్కించు chekkinṭsu. v. t. To thrust forward the breast, as a crowing cock does. చెక్కు n. The side, in general. The check. The rind or side of a fruit. Half a pack; being as much as is on each side of a bullock. వానికి చెక్కు చెమర్చినది he was quite exhausted. చెక్కులుపిక్కలు pranks, roguery. చెక్కుచెదరక unharmed, untouched, intact. అది చెక్కు చెదరకుండనున్నది it is in excellent order.

(p. 431) ceruvu cheruvu. [Tel.] n. A tank or artificial lake. తటాకము. v. a. To insert, stick in, to cut. చెక్కు. To pierce గ్రుచ్చు. A. v. 152. Kanak iv. 263. n. Cutting into slices చెక్కుట. చెరువు కాకి cheruvu-kāki. n. A cormorant.

HD. i. 1982. దోవతరగలేదు the way does not become shorter. ఎంత వ్రాసినాగాని పని తరిగేది లేదు however long he wrote, the work does not terminate. హౌసుతరుగును. fortune will cease or depart. కొలిచినదాన్నే మళ్లీ కొలిస్తే తరుగును if you measure grain twice, some of it will be lost. v. a. (p. 580) dabba dabba. [Tel.] n. The citron tree. దబ్బకాయ dabba-kāya. n. A citron. కోలదబ్బ & నారదబ్బ are two species of it. A slip, strip, piece of split wood, a slice. A thin rafter. బద్ద. వెదురుబద్ద. దబ్బతలుపు a door made of strips of wood. వెదురుదబ్బ a piece of split bamboo. A clot of blood. [From దర్భ a sacred grass] దర్బ. దబ్బవేలు the ring finger, అనామిక. దబ్బఉంగరము a gold ring made like a దర్బ ring. దబ్బకట్టు dabba-kaṭṭu. v. n. To clot, as blood does. దబ్బకట్టిన clotted. దబ్బవాడు a mat weaver, మేదరవాడు.

(p. 773) pulipiri, pulpiri, pulipirikāya, pulipuli or పులిపులికాయ pulipiri. [Tel.] n. Callus, hard skin, callosity, as that of a wart. A wart. A villain, a scoundrel. పులిపిరికేమి నొప్పి, i.e., what feeling has a scoundrel? పులిపులి puli-puli. adj. Tormented. పీడితము. పులిపులిగాగ pulipuli-gā-ga. adv. Easily, into slices, తూలాయమానముగా. 'పులిపులిగాగబెబ్బులి పిండునొకనాడు చెదరగా నాటెనాచేతియీటె.' R. ii. 22.

(p. 866) badda or బ్రద్ద badda. [Tel.] n. A piece, bit, fragment, slice, a flat thin bit, split wood. చీలిక, తునక. దూదేకులబద్ద a cotton beater's show. ఈ భాష మహాకష్టమని బద్దలుకట్టుతారు they figure this language as very difficult. బద్దలుకట్టి మాట్లాడినాడు he arranged his arguments to much advantage. కావటిబద్ద the wooden part of a yoke (కావడి.)
