(p. 433) cēṭa chēṭa. [Tel.] n. A winnowing basket or fan. చేటకూరప్పు or చేటప్పు chēṭa-kūrappu. n. A loan of grain, grain lent to be paid in grain or advanced on trust to a buyer. చేటకొల్లారు chēṭa-kollāru. n. A sloping roof without side walls, as over a door. A shed. మూడిండ్లుకలిపి కట్టినది. చేటుచేరు chēṭa-chēru. n. A mode of dress worn by women ఆడువారియొక్క ఒక విధమైన కోకకట్టు. చేటచేరుపు chēṭa-chērupu. n. An easy slope, a gradual rise.

(p. 735) pāṭu pāṭu. [Tel. from పడు] n. A fall. పడుట. Suffering, శ్రమము. Labour. A movement, an action, చర్య. Distress, misfortune, hardship, mishap, ఆపద. Time, occasion. సమయము. Manner, way, mode, విధము. A declining state. The ebb of the tide. సముద్రపునీరు పొంగి తగ్గుట. రెప్పపాటు (lit: eye-lid-fall.) a wink or blink. బల్లిపాటు the fall of a lizard. చెవిటివాడు పెదవిపారు గ్రహించును a deaf man understands the motions of the lips. వారు పడే పాట్లు చెప్పనలవికాదు the hardships they suffer are indescribable. కుక్కపడేపాట్లు పడుచున్నాడు he leads the life of a dog. ఎన్నిపాట్లు పడినను వాడు చిక్కలేదు though we did all we could we did not find him. వాడు పడ్డపాట్లు వృధాగాపోవునా will all his trouble be in vain. వచ్చినపాటుననే as soon as he comes. అది ఆపాటుననే ఉన్నది it remains as it was, it remains unaltered. అది యేపాటుననున్నదో ఆపాటుననే ఉండనిమ్ము leave it as it is . అదోకపాటుగానుండేనేల a declivity, slope or descent. పోటుపాటు the ebb and flow of a river or sea, బోర్లపాటులు vile pranks. పొరపాటు an error. Added to some verbs it serves as an affix like-tion, -ness or -ment and forms a noun, as నగుబాటు laughter. తగులుబాటు cost, expenditure. దిద్దుబాటు a correction. కుదురుబాటు settlement. ఒంటరిపాటు loneliness. ఒంటరిపాటున alone, unaccompanied. ఆపాటున where-upon, thereupon, on that occasion. పనిపాటులు jobs. పాట్లమారి a drudge, మిక్కిలి శ్రమపడు స్వభావముగలవాడు. పాటుపడు pāṭu-paḍu. To toil, to labour. శ్రమపడు. పాటుసాగించు pāṭu-sāginṭsu. v. n. To cultivate, to begin cultivation operations. పాటునబడు pāṭuva-baḍu. v. n. To come back to the original position. యథాస్థితికివచ్చు.

(p. 788) peṇaka or పెడక penaka. [Tel.] n. A pent roof, one side of a sloping roof. ఇంటియొక్క ఒకభాగపుకప్పు. The back side of a leaf, ఆకుయొక్క వెనుకటి భాగము. చిప్పపెణక the gable end of a roof.

(p. 879) bāri bāri. [Tel.] n. Annoyance, trouble. ఉపద్రవము, తొందర, వ్యధ, హింస, నిర్బంధము. The slope at the side of a great well for bullocks to run down in drawing up water, by a rope running over a pulley. కపిలెయెద్దులకు నిర్బంధముగా నేర్పరిచినదారి. An elephant's tether. ఏనుగుకాలు కట్టెడు గొలుసు. బారివిడుచు to gallop, పరుగెత్తించు. బారిగొర్రె a sheep let go at a feast to be run for, as a victim or prize. 'గోముననిన్నాళ్లుకొడుకనిన్ బ్రోచి, గోమలికినిబారిగొరియగానొసగ, వలసెబోమల్లెపూవంటిరుమాలు, దొంగింపవెండ్రుకల్ తూగిచిందాడ, నించువిల్తునిబారినీగగానేల.' Sār. D. v. 295. why sacrifice yourself to love? మన్మథుని బారిపడినాడు he fell a victim to love. పులిబారికి ప్పినలేడికైవడిన్ like a fawn escaping from a tiger. బారి or భారి bāri. adj. Great, large, big. బారివాండ్లు well to do people, rich folks.

A water pump, a water wheel for drawing water from wells to irrigate the fields. మోటతోలు to drive the bullocks that draw up water with a మోట. కపిలమోటబాన the large bucket in which the water is drawn up from a well.మోట [from Skt. మూఢ.] adj. Dull, stupid, simple. మూఢమైన, మొద్దు. మొటకత్తి mōṭa-katti. n. A hunting knife, a cutlass. ముచ్చుకత్తి. స్వా. iv. మోటపారు mōṭa-pāru. n. The slope at a well down which the cattle run while drawing water. మోటబరి mōṭa-bari. n. A pack bullock, బరువుమోయుఎద్దు. మోటాటిరెడ్లు or మోటపాటిరెడ్లు mōṭāṭi-reḍlu. n. plu. The name of a subdivision among the Kāpūs (a class of farmers.) రెడ్లలో భేదము.

A masterpiece of fine thing, the best of its kind of species స్వజాతి శ్రేష్ఠము, నవరత్నములు the nine precious stones, viz., మౌక్తికము a pearl, పద్మరాగము an emerald, వజ్రము a diamond. ప్రవాళము a coral, మరకతము. an emerald నీలము a sapphire, గోమేధికము an agate. పుష్యరాగము a ruby, వైడూర్యము a cat's eye. అశ్వరత్నము a jewel of a horse, i.e., a noble stead. స్త్రీరత్నము an unrivalled woman. గగనరత్నము the sun, as the gem of heaven. అప్సరోరత్నములు the most lovely of nymphs. రత్నకంబళము ratna-kamba-lamu. n. A carpet. తివాసీ. రత్నగర్భ .ratna-garbha n. The earth; as producing gems. భూమి. 'వైశ్యకన్యకల్ గీరనగింజలాడుతరి క్రిందనునిచిన దివ్యరత్నముల్ పౌరులు ద్రొక్కుచున్ జనగపాతుకొనంధరణీ పురంధ్రికిన్వారకరత్నగర్భయను నామము బెట్టిరి సత్కవీశ్వరుల్.' T. ii. 20. రత్నగర్భుడు ratna-garbhuḍu. n. Kubēra, the god of wealth, కుబేరుడు. The god of the sea, సముద్రుడు. రత్నసానువు ratna-sānuvu. n. An epithet of Mount Meru as having ' gems in its slopes.' మేరుపర్వతము, హేమాద్రి. రత్నాకరము ratn-ākaramu. n. The abode of gems, that is, the ocean. సముద్రము. రత్నావళి ratnā-vaḷi. n.
