An oblation or wave offering, an offering of lights or of water, turmeric and chunam waved over a deity or over any individual to take off the supposed ill effects of the evil looks. హారతి or మంగళహారతి. (This ceremony answers to lustration or sprinkling with holy water.)

(p. 156) utsēkamu ut-sēkamu. [Skt.] n. Increase, pride; sprinkling water. అతిశయము, గర్వము, ప్రోక్షణము. ఉత్సేకించు ut-sēkinṭsu. v. i. To be full, to increase. అతిశయించు.

Also (metaphorically,) of a smile spreading over the face. కూటిలో మన్నుచల్లడము to throw earth in one's food, i.e., to take away one's bread, to ruin one. ఇంటిమీద నిప్పులుచల్లిరి they scattered fire on the house. మొక్కచల్లు to transplant corn. తోటకు నీళ్లు చల్లినారు they pumped water into the garden. ధూళిచల్లి sprinkling dust. చల్లుపోరాడు or చల్లులాడు tsallu-pōrāḍu. v. n. To fling water or dust at each other. R. I. 211. 186.

(p. 416) cinuku or చిన్కు chinuku. [Tel.] n. A drop, a sprinkling చినుకులుపడుచున్నవి it is drizzling. చినుకు v. n. To be shed, or diffused, to fall in drops కారు; to be increased as a passion, or desire అతిశయించు. చినుకుపూస a pearl ముత్యము. A drop of rain.

(p. 536) tumpara or తుంపురు tumpara. [Tel.] n. A little drop, a sprinkling, a splutter. తుంపిళ్లు tumpiḷḷu. n. A slight shower of rain. తూరవాన.

Hallowing, cleansing, consecrating, dedication, lustration, మంత్రోదకమును చిలకరించడము, దేవాలయాదులను ఉపయోగపరచుకోవడమునకై మంత్రోదకమును చిలకరించడము, విగ్రహాదులకు శివప్రతిష్ఠ చేయడము. ఆ విగ్రహము పోతపోసి సిద్ధముగానున్నది గాని యింకా సంప్రోక్షణము కాలేదు the idol is all ready and adorned but is not yet consecrated. సంప్రోక్షించు sam-prōkshinṭsu. v. a. To sprinkle with holy water, to consecrate. సంప్రోక్షితము sam-prōkshitamu. adj. Sprinkled with, consecrated.

Incoherent talk, a farrago of nonsense. అసత్యవచనము. ముత్తెపు ౛ల్లి powdered pearls. దొంతర౛ల్లి బొంత a patchwork. ౛ల్లిగానుండే hirsute, as a branching root. adj. Separated, shivered, broken, incoherent. False అసత్యము. జల్లికాడు a liar అసత్యవంతుడు. ౛ల్లితోక a bushy tail like that of a horse. ౛ల్లినీడ a broken shade as that of leaves. ౛ల్లిముత్తెములు seed pearls. ౛ల్లిపెండెము a kind of jewel worn on the foot పాదభూషావిశేషము. ౛ల్లిమూకుడు a pan with holes చిల్లులుగల మూకుడు a tasselated root. ౛ల్లిపొల్ల ḍzalli-polla. n. Babble, incoherent jabber. ౛ల్లించు ḍzallinṭsu. v. a. To sift in a sieve శోధించు. To flow కారు. ౛ల్లు ḍzallu. n. A shower, a drizzle, a sprinkling. ౛ల్లుమను Same as ౛ల్లను, ౛ల్లెడ ḍzalleḍa. n. A sieve (from జల్లు a sprinkle.) The skirt, of a dress. ౛ల్లెడలాగు అయిపోయినది it became very thin. ౛ల్లెడె ḍzalleḍe. n. A whisk. ౛ల్లి.
