(p. 28) accu aṭṭsu. n. A stamp, a form for printing or for any other impression, a type, a printing press. An axle-tree. A mould. The handle of a handmill, A weaver's reed or stay. An image, or picture. ప్రతి రూపమును కల్పించేటిది, ఇరుసుమాను, తిరగటి పిడి, బట్ట వేసేటందుకు సాధనమైనది, ప్రతిబింబము. పోత అచ్చు the mould wherein clay or metal is cast. ఇటికె అచ్చు the box or mould used in making bricks. అచ్చక్షరములు printed letters. అచ్చువేయు to print. ఇంకా అచ్చువేయని unprinted, unpublished.అచ్చువేసేవాడు a printer. అక్షరాల అచ్చులు types of letters. బెల్లపు అచ్చు a square mould into which boiled treacle is poured, and thus formed into cakes. అచ్చుబెల్లము a lump of jaggery, అచ్చొత్తు to seal, impress with a mark, to print అచ్చుకూటము (a Madras word,) A printing press office ముద్రాశాల. అచ్చుబల్ల the frame on which a weaver's reed is fixed. అచ్చువేసినయెద్దు a 'brahminy' bull that is marked or stamped and is allowed to wander at large, as consecrated to the deity. అచ్చుకట్టు or అచ్చుకట్టువేయు v. a. To prepare land for wet cultivation by throwing up banks to divide it into plots, partitions or beds. మళ్లుగా ఏర్పరచు అచ్చుకట్టించినమడి or అచ్చుకట్టు పొలము a field which is divided into beds for wet cultivation. అచ్చులపోయు to find yarn on the frame for weaving (Cuddapa.) అచ్చుగా aṭṭsu-gā. [Tel.] adv. Precisely, exactly, clearly, evidently. 'పిచ్చుకపై బ్రహ్మాస్తము నచ్చుగ దొడిగినవితాన.' T. iv. 22.

(p. 44) adda adda. [from Skt. అర్థ] adj. Half. సగము. అద్దగోడ. a wall that serves as a screen. అర్థరూపాయి a half rupee. అద్దమణుగు a half maund. అద్దపావులా a two anna piece. అద్దమరేయి addama-rēyi. n. Midnight. అర్ధరాత్రము, నిశీధి 'అద్ద మరేయద్దాసరి.' A. vi. 10. In revenue phrase, అద్ద means an incomplete heap. Also, a stamp or seal. వట్టిముద్ర. అద్దలవాడు he who stamps or marks the salt heaps. A marker or stamper. Also, a salt manufacturer. ముద్ర మనిషి, ఉప్పు చేసేవాడు. అద్ద n. A dry measure, half of a 'sola.' A small heap of straw not yet thrashed. అర్థసోల, నూర్చకుండా వేసిన చిన్న కుప్ప.

To step, tread, or perform a dance, అణగదొక్కుట (A. ii. 104.) to pound, stamp, trample on, crush, macerate. పొరుగిల్లుతొక్కక not entering your neighbour's house. పొలిమేరతొక్కు to lay down or define a boundary line by treading on it. కొమ్మతొక్కు to lay down suckers or branches from a tree. తొక్కిచూచు to go and examine in person: to inspect personally. దిగదొక్కు to blink or put out of view, to suppress. తొక్కు. n. Paste, pickle. తొక్కించు or త్రొక్కించు tok-kinṭsu. v. a. To cause to tread, &c. నాట్యము తొక్కించినారు they made him dance. చింతకాయలు తొక్కించిరి they had the tamarind pounded. తొక్కు or తొక్కుడు tokkudu. n. Treading, grinding, dancing, capering, ఇరుకాటము, సమ్మర్ధము, రాపిడి, రారాపు. R. i. 46. Plu: త్రొక్కుళ్లు. P. iii. 76. adj Threshed, pounded తొక్కిన. తొక్కుడుకమ్మి tokkuḍu-kammi. n. A threshold. దొడ్డి తొక్కుకొనిపోయినది it broke out of the fold. తొక్కుపలుకులు lisping words. బిడ్డలువచ్చీరాక అదేమాటలు. తొక్కుడుబిళ్లలు tokkuḍu-biḷḷalu. n. A certain game. తొక్కులాడు tokku-l-āḍu. v. n. To grieve, to be in trouble. తొక్కులాడుచునడుచుట to trudge on, plod, to get on with difficulty.

The stamen of a flower, పువ్వులోనిదుద్దు, మిద్దె. A shoemaker's last, which is conical. The beazle of a ring. A piece of wood built into a wall to hook a bracket, &c., on. A stamp or impress. గజ్జెలదిమ్మె a steel board with depressions in the surface, used by goldsmiths. See దిమ్మ, దిమ్మెట్లు. దిమ్మెట్లుపడు dimmeṭlu. n. A deafening sensation dimmeṭlu-paḍu v. n. To become deaf.

(p. 1005) mudra mudra. [Skt.] n. A seal: a seal ring, or signet. The stamp, print, or impression of a seal. A distinguishing mark impressed or burned upon a man or beast. Coinage. మునుపటిముద్ర రూపాయి a rupee of the old coinage. Gesticulation, attitude. మౌనముద్ర the seal of silence, i.e., silence. నిద్రాముద్ర the seal of sleep, i.e., sound sleep. జ్ఞానముద్ర a particular position of the fingers used in religious ceremonies. ముద్రలు marks impressed upon sand or clay placed on heaps of grain, the permanent marks made on the shoulders representing the insignia of Vishnu which are the shell and the wheel, &c. వాడు ముద్రాధారణము చేసికొనినాడు he received the seals, i.e., his shoulders were sealed with the shell and wheel of Vishṇu. మధ్యులు గోపిముద్రలు వేసికొందురు they wear patches of brown clay. వానికి శునకముద్ర వేసినారు they stamped him with the figure of a dog. ముద్రకర్త mudra-karta. n. An apparitor, the lowest local officer attached to a Guru or priest, ఆయా స్థలములలో గురువుయొక్క తాబేదారుగానుండేవాడు. ముద్రకోల mudra-kōla. n. A stamp to mark or seal with. The insignia of Vishnu, being the shell and wheel made in copper. ముద్రవేయు సాధనము, ముద్రధారణముచేయు సుదర్శన పాంచజన్యములు. ముద్రగడ mudra-gaḍa. n. A sceptre, a royal staff. 'తన ముద్రగడవేరుతలగ బట్టించి.' Pal. 450. A wooden stamp. ముద్రగరిటె mudra-gariṭe. n. A ladle shaped mace or large spoon borne in state before a person in authority, దేశాయీలు మొదలైనవారిముందర బిరుదుగా తీసికొనిపోవు గంటలుగల యిత్తడిగరిటె. ముద్రణము mudraṇamu. n. Setting one's seal to. ముద్రించుట. Dooming, giving a decision, సిద్ధాంతప్రతిపాదనము. 'కనకాద్రిముద్రణగ్రంథకర్త.' A. ii. 45. టీ మేరుపునందును తన ముద్ర చెల్లించువాడు. ముద్ర తీసివేయు mudra-tīsi-vēyu. v. a. To unseal. ముద్రాధారణము mudrā-dhāra-ṇamu. n. Sealing , i.e., the act of impressing the shell and wheel of Vishnu on either shoulder. చక్రంకనము చేసికొనుట. ముద్రపలక mudra-palaka. n. A wooden stamp for sealing a heap of corn. ధాన్యరాశిమీద ముద్ర వేసేపలక. ముద్రమనిషి mudra-manishi. n. A sealer, i.e., a bailiff who seals heaps of corn. అంబారములకు ముద్ర వేయు బంట్రౌతు. ముద్రవేయు mudra-vēyu. v. a. To seal. ఈబోగమువాండ్లు ఆగుడికి ముద్రవేయబడినారు these dancing girls are dedicated to that temple. ముద్రాంకితము mudr-ānkitamu. adj. Sealed, marked with a seal. ముద్రవేయబడిన. ముద్రాంకితుడు mudr-āankituḍu. adj. One who is impressed with shoulder. సమాశ్రయణము. చేసికొన్నవాడు. ముద్రాక్షరశాల mudr-āksharu-ṣāla. n. A press or printing office. అచ్చుయిల్లు, అచ్చుకూటము. ముద్రించు mudrinṭsu. v. a. To seal. ముద్రవేయు, అచ్చువేయు. 'మృషావాదింజేయుదు ననుతలంపు ముద్రించి.' HN. v. 176. ముద్రిక mudrika. n. A seal ring, శిఖాఉంగరము. ముద్రితము mudritamu. adj. Sealed, marked, stamped, closed. ముద్రవేయబడిన, మూసికొనిన, ముకుళితమైన.

(p. 1263) śrī ṣrī. [Skt.] n. Lakshmi, the wife of Vishnu, the goddess of plenty and prosperity. లక్ష్మి. Wealth, riches, prosperity, good fortune, సంపద. Beauty, lustre, splendour, glory, శోభ. Also, poison, venom, విషము. విద్యాశ్రీ the glory of learning. ముఖశ్రీ lustre of the face. మాతుశ్రీ a respectful way of mentioning any elderly woman in a letter. adj. Holy, sacred, blessed, venerable, famous, glorious, renowned. Used as an honorific prefix. శ్రీకంఠుడు ṣrī-kanṭhuḍu. n. An epithet of Siva (lit. poison-throated.) శివుడు, కరకంఠుడు. శ్రీకరము ṣrī-karamu. adj. Propitious, happy, blessed. లక్ష్మీప్రదమైన. శ్రీకరుడు ṣrī-karuḍu. n. One who gives wealth, one who grants prosperity, సంపత్కరుడు. శ్రీకాంతుడు or శ్రీపతి ṣrī-kāntuḍu. n. A name of Vishnu, as being the spouse of శ్రీ or Lakshmi. విష్ణువు. శ్రీకారము ṣrī-kāramu. n. The letter శ్రీ. The poets compare a beautiful ear to the form of this letter. 'కలకంఠకంఠి వీనులకు శ్రీకారముల్ రక్షియంత్రములుగా వ్రాయవచ్చు.' Anir. iii. 68. శ్రీకార్యము ṣrī-kāryamu. n. Holy duties, i.e., the management of a temple. గుడిపారు పత్తెము. శ్రీకార్యపరుడు ṣrīkārya-paruḍu. n. The manager of a temple. గుడిపారుపత్తి. A yellow paste of turmeric and rice flour, used by the Vaishnavites in marking their foreheads. తిరుచూర్ణము, నామము నడుముపెట్టుకొనే పసుపుబియ్యము యొక్క పొడి. శ్రీచూర్ణపరిపాలనము a ceremony among Vaishnavites performed when removing a corpse from the house. శ్రీచూర్ణములు ṣrī-chūrṇamulu. n. Trumpets, usually blown in pairs before a priest, or in a temple. ఆచార్యుల ముందరను గుడిలోను ఊదే టివి. శ్రీజుడు or శ్రీపుత్రుడు ṣrī-juḍu. n. An epithet of Manmadha, మన్మథుడు. శ్రీతాళము ṣrī-tālamu. n. The epithet శ్రీమద్రామాయణము is usually given to the celebrated poem written by Valmiki. శ్రీముఖ ṣrī-mukha. n. The name of a Telugu year శ్రీముఖము ṣrī-mukhamu. n. A pastoral letter, a letter from a Guru or adviser, గురువువ్రాసిన౛ాబు, పెద్దలువ్రాయు౛ాబు. శ్రీముద్ర ṣrī-mudra. n. The holy seal; a name given to the stamps used in placing the five marks worn upon the face, &c., by the members of the Madhva sect. శ్రీమూర్తి ṣrī-mūrti. n. The sacred image, a name given to the సాలగ్రామము (q. v.) శ్రీరంగము ṣrī-rangamu. n. The name of a holy town situated upon an island close to Trichinopoly, ఉభయకావేరిమధ్యమందు రంగనాయకుల దేవళము ఉండే ఊరు. శ్రీరంగాలు ṣrī-ran-gālu. n. The name given to a certain kind of rice. ధాన్యవిశేషము.
