(p. 168) uri uri. [Tel.] n. A noose or slipping knot: a snare. ఉచ్చు. కాలురి a snare for the feet. ఉరికోల uri-kōla. n. A rod attached to a noose. ఉరితాడు uri-tāḍu. n. A halter, a tether, a rope to tie a cow's legs when it is being milked. ఉరితీయు or ఉరిపోయి uri-tīyu. v. t. To hang: strangle. ఉరు పోసికొను uri-pōsi-konu. v. i. To hang one self. ఉరియాడు uri-yāḍu. To move, tremble, fear, చలించు, భయపడు. M. ix. ii. 105. ఉరియాట moving to and fro. చలించుట, ఊగులాడుట.

(p. 366) gāvu gāvu. [Tel.] n. A sacrifice, wherein a goat or buffalo or a cowl is strangled. బలి. గావుపట్టు or గావు ఇచ్చు to offer such a victim. To kill చంపు. To destroy నాశముచేయు. గావునట్టు gāvu-paṭṭu. n. perseverance గట్టిపట్టు గావుకోడి. gāvu-kōḍi. n. A certain plant.

(p. 886) bilukumāru biluku-māru. [Tel.] v. n. To die. To be destroyed, to perish. 'కాల్బలమున్ దనవీకవచ్చియున్, మరలియుదూలియున్ బిలుకుమారియునల్గడ బారియున్.' M. VIII. i. 4. బిలుకుమార్చు biluku-mārṭsu. v. a. To kill, to destory. 'మనుజనాధయొక్కడవుపూని మహాద్భుతబాహుసంపదన్, మిమువడి దాకెదన్ బిలుకుమార్చెదనంట యుదాత్తమైనధైర్య మహిమగాదె.' M. IX. ii. 102. బిలుకురబట్టు bilukura-baṭṭu. v. a. To strangle. 'ఒక్కరుడుభూరిశ్రవుగిట్టి, నీగర్వమణగింతునేడనితిట్టి. పెడకేలుబిగబట్టిబిలుకురబట్టిపడద్రోచి తామీదబడి గ్రుద్దుచుండె.' Dab. 216. చిలుకురబట్టి, అనగా ఊపిరితిరగకుండాపట్టి. బిల్కురు bilkuru. v. n. To be suffocated or strangled. ఉడ్డుకుడుచు.

(p. 1022) meḍa or మెడకాయ meḍa. [Tel.] n. The neck, కంఠము, గళము. మెడమీది జందెము the Brahminical cord worn over the shoulder. మెడకొంకులు the collar bones. మెడనుకట్టు to tie on the neck, i.e., to oblige, to constrain. ఈ ముసలిదానిని నామెడను కట్టిపోయినాడు he left the old woman as a weight upon my neck. మెడబట్టినూకు to push by the neck. మెడనులిగాడు meḍa-nuli-gāḍu. n. The bird called the Wryneck. మెడనూలు meḍa-nūlu. n. A necklace made of gold threads plaited together. మెడవిరువు ప్రశ్నలు teasing questions. నీకు మెడచాచినది మొదలు ever since I took you for my husband. మెడపొంపు the back of the neck. మెడపిసుకు. n. A neck break, i.e., a puzzle or jaw-breaker. మెడపిసుకు. v. To press the neck, to throttle. మెడపిసికి చంపినాడు he strangled him. మెడ నులుము, i.e., to twist the neck. మెడవాలు, మడివాలు or మడివేలు meḍa-vālu. n. A washerman, a washer-woman, చాకలవాడు, చాకలిది.
