(p. 456) chalamu , ఛలార్థము or ఛలోక్తి chhalamu. [Skt.] n. A trick, a stratagem: an innuendo or covert meaning. A double entendre నెపము, వెనుదీయుట, ఒక అభిప్రాయముతో చెప్పిన పదమునకు మరొక అభిప్రాయము చేసుకొని ఉత్తరము చెప్పుట.

(infl. of మీదు) adj. (p. 1056) yuktamu yuktamu. [Skt.] adj. Joined, combined, united, కూడుకొనిన. Right, fit, proper, ఉచితమైన, న్యాయమైన. యుక్తమైనమనిషి a proper person. n. Fitness, propriety, justice. ఉచితము. న్యాయము. దాన్ని నీవు చెల్లిస్తే యుక్తము it will be better for you to pay the money. నీవు యుక్తాయుక్తము విచారింపవలసినది you must look on both sides of the question. యుక్తపడు yukta-paḍu. v. n. To fit or suit. అనుకూలపడు. యుక్తి yukti. n. Union, కూడిక. Wit; a contrivance, expedient, stratagem, artifice; a plot, a happy thought. ఉపాయము, యోచన. యుక్తుడు yuktuḍu. An affix meaning. Accompanied by, possessed of, characterised by. కూడుకొన్నవాడు. భార్యాయుక్తుడై being accompanied by his wife. పాపయుక్తులు sinners. దోషయుక్తురాలు she who is sinful, a sinner.

'ఒకటిక్రిందనొకటి నొనరలబ్ధముబెట్టి వలనుగ గుణియింపవరుసబెరుగు.' Vema. 1242. వలనైన valan-aina. adj. Agreeable, ఇంపైన. 'కసటువోపన్నీట గడిగిపువ్వులతావి, వలసైన కమ్మజవ్వాదివలపునెరపి.' T. iii. 131. టీ వలనైన, ఒప్పుగానుండెడి. వలన or వలనన్ valana. A postposition used as a case ending in the 5th case. By, by means of, with, from, వల్ల. 'నీవలనంబరమప్రీతుమడవైతి.' M. I. i. 175.

By, by means of, from. వానివల్ల తెలిసినది I learned it from him or of him. ఈ మందువల్ల by means of this medicine. adj. Convenient, feasible, practicable, possible. యుక్తము, అనుకూలము. అది వల్లకాదు it is impossible. అక్కడికి పోవల్లలేదు you cannot go there. ఇరి లేకుంటే నల్లకాదు I cannot do without this. చెల్లిస్తేగాని వల్లకాదు you cannot avoid paying it. వాడు ఉంటేగాని వల్లకాదు I cannot do without him. నీవు వస్తేగాని వల్లకాదు your coming is indispensable, it cannot be done unless you come. చెప్పుకోక వల్లకాదు you cannot avoid explaining this. n. A stratagem, expedient, convenience. ఉపాయము, యుక్తి. వల్లపట్టుతప్పి పడినాడు he lost his hold and fell. ఎడమనల్లవాడు a left handed man, ఎడమచెయి వాటముగలవాడు. వల్లకాని valla-kāni. adj. Impracticable, impossible. అసాధ్యమైన. వల్లమాలిన valla-mālina. adj. Much, excessive; impracticable, అపరిమితమైన. వల్లగానుండు valla-ga-n-unḍu. v. n. To be convenient, practicable, possible, feasible. సాధ్యముగానుండు.
