(p. 138) iruku iruku. [Tel.] n. A strait, difficulty, distress, narrowness. Closeness, contact. adj. Narrow, tight, squeezing. ఇరుకు v. n. To be squeezed, stuck in. ఇరుకటము or ఇరుకాటము irukaṭamu. n. A narrow place. ఇరుకుచోటు. ఇరుకుమాను iruku mānu. n. Posts set in a gate-way (i.e., పంగలకర్ర). to exclude cattle but admit men; a turnpike. ఇరికించు or ఇరికించుకొను irikinṭsu. v. a. To insert, poke in, stick in. ఇరికికొను or ఇరుక్కొను iriki-konu. v. n. To get in; stick, be caught, be inserted, be entangled.

(p. 139) ilakarucu or ఈలకరుచు ila-karuṭsu. [Tel.] v. i. and t. To be set, jammed, stuck. వానికి తల యిలకరుచుకొని పోయినది his head is jammed or sunk between his shoulders. 'ప్రాణము ఇలకరుచుకొన్న' P. iii. 196. hard to kill: having stubborn life. అతనికి పండ్లు ఇలకరిచినవి his jaws were set, he gnashed his teeth. A. v. 13.

(p. 254) karpūramu karpūramu. [Skt.] n. Camphor. పచ్చకర్పూరము crude camphor. రసకర్పూరము calomel. కర్పూరనూనె camphor oil. కర్పూర అరిటిపండు a fragrant kind of plantain. కర్పూరవంకాయ a kind of small brinjal. కర్పూరబెండ a certain vegetable. కర్పూరవల్లి karpūra-valli. See under ఓనము. కర్పూరశిలాజతు karpūra-ṣilā-jatu. n. A foliated crystallized gypsum, the powder of which, like white alabaster, is used in the preparation of stucco and as a medicine for ulcers. (p. 826) prajña pra-gnya. [Skt.] n. Intelligence, understanding, good sense, cleverness. ప్రజ్ఞలు pragnyalu. n. plu. Boasting words. 'వట్టి ప్రజ్ఞలు ప్రేలునవ్వారబరధ' She talks big. S. iii. 24. ప్రజ్ఞానము pra-gnyānamu. n. Knowledge, wisdom. తెలివి, బుద్ధి. A sign, గురుతు, ఆనవాలు. ప్రజ్ఞాపత్రిక pragnyāpatrika. n. A paper stuck in a volume to shew the place. A book mark. ప్రజ్ఞుడు pragnyuḍu. n. A learned man. పండితుడు. A bandy-legged man. పంగటి కాళ్లవాడు.

(p. 1100) lāka lāka. [Tel.] n. A feather. పక్షియీక. A new shoot from a stalk of corn, &c. ౛ొన్నపైరులాకపెట్టినది the cholam has sent out fresh shoots. లాకకట్టు lāka-kaṭṭu. n. Pinioning the arms. పెడచేతులువిరిచికట్టు. లాకలు lākalu. n. plu. Small pieces of stick, used by weavers. సాలెవాడు పడుగునందుగుచ్చే పుల్లలు.' కారంపుపడుగులు కండెల కప్పెర గోలముల్ లాకలునీలకడవ, గంప, డొల్ల, కళాసంబు, కదురు, చెమికె.' H. ii. 12. లాకకట్ట lāka-kaṭṭu. n. The unfinished warp of a cloth with pieces of wood still stuck in it, లాకలతో చుట్టి యుంచిన పనిముగియని పడుగు.
