(p. 54) anukūlamu anu-kūlamu. [Skt.] adj. Favourable, friendly, assisting, salubrious. హీతమైన, సహాయమైన, ఆరోగ్యమైన, శ్రేయస్కరమైన. అనుకూలమైన గాలి a favourable wind. వాని శరీరమునకు అనుకూలమైన స్థలము the place which agrees with him. అనుకూలమైనమాట a friendly word. అనుకూలశత్రువు a friendly enemy అనుకూల కాలము a suitable time. అనుకూలము or అనుకూలత n. Favour, goodness, kindness, aid. సహాయము, మేలు, దయ. దయ ద్రవ్యానుకూలము means, resource. దైవానుకూలము వల్ల by the grace of God. అనుకూలించు, అనుకూలపడు or అనుకూలమగు anukūlinṭsu. [Skt.] v. n. To be of use ఒదవు. To have effect, to have a good result. సఫలమగు, ఒనగూడు. అనుకూలము కాలేదు it failed, it had not the desired effect. నాకు ఇంకా రూకలు అనుకూల పడలేదు I have not yet obtained the money ఈ పని నీకు అనుకూలమగును you will succeed in this business. అనుకూలము చేయు or అనుకూలవరచు anukūlamuchēyu. v. a. To shew favour, to bring a thing about, to countenance. సహాయము చేయు, నెరవేర్చు. కార్యమును అనుకూలము చేసికొన్నారు they brought it about, brought it to a conclusion. అనుకూలుడు anukūluḍu. n. A friend, ally, patron. హితుడు, సహాయుడు, ఉపకారి. వాడు నాకు అనుకూలుడు he is well disposed towards me.

(p. 54) anuguṇamu anu-guṇamu. [Skt.] adj. Fit, proper, suited to. తగిన, అర్హమైన. అనుగుణ్యము anu-guṇyamu. adj. According to, suitable to. తగిన, అర్హమైన. అనుగుణ్యముగా adv. Accordingly, fitly, suitably. తగినట్టుగా. అజ్ఞానుగుణ్యముగా according to orders.

(p. 54) anucitamu an-uchitamu. [Skt.] adj. Unfit, unseemly, unsuitable. తగని, అనర్హమైన అయుక్తమైన.

T. i. 50 అనువు కాని వేళ in an inconvenient hour. అనువరి n. A man of tact, ఉపాయశాలి, యుక్తిపరుడు. అనువు adj. Proper, right, fit, suitable, convenient. ఉచితమైన, యుక్తమైన, యోగ్యమైన. అనువుగా adv. Conveniently, suitably, fitly, with propriety. అనువు చేయు v. t. To make ready or fit. సిద్ధపరుచు. అనువుపడు v. n. To be suitable or agreeable, or convenient. అనుకూలపడు. అనువెండ or అనువుందగ adv. Duly, well. ఒప్పుగా, 'ఈ కథ వినియోదనను వొందదెల్పు విహగోత్తంసా.' H. i. 233.

(p. 76) ayi (past p|| of అగు to become.) Having become, turned into. మాకు అయి నిలిచినాడు he stood like a post., i.e., he has transfixed with surprise &c. దొంగ అయి తిరుగుతున్నాడు he has turned thief. పోకిరి అయిపోయినాడు he has become a wicked fellow. అయిన (past rel. p|| of అగు to become.) Accomplished, becoming, agreeable, suitable. అయినపని a work that is accomplished, a becoming art. అయిన పెండ్లాము a good wife. అయినమందు a suitable medicine. అయినమనిషి a useful or proper man. అయినవాండ్లు friends, relations. See కాని. అయిన is also used to change nouns into adjectives as సొగసైన పిల్ల, ఆశ్చర్యమైన కార్యము a wonderful deed. For other uses, see under ఐన.

(p. 138) iravu or ఇరువు iravu. [Tel.] n. Place స్థానము. ఇరవారు ira-vāru. [Tel. ఇరవు+ఆరు] or ఇరవుకొను iravu-konu. v. i. To become settled or fixed. స్థిరపడు, నెలకొను. ఇరవు iravu. [Tel.] adj. Firm, fixed. స్థిరమైన. Fitting, suitable. తగిన. ఇరవెందు or ఇరవుపడు irav-ondu. (ఇరవు+ఒందు) v. n. To become firm, to be fixed. నెలకొను, స్థిరపడు.

(p. 203) aina aina. [Tel. for అయిన. relative p of అగు] p. p. 1. Being, existing. One who or which is or has become. యజమానుడైన రామయ్య Ramaya who was (his) master. Becoming, suitable, fit; అయిన గుణములు proper principles. అయిన దినము a fit day. అయిన వడ్డి the interest that accumulated. వాకయిన మనిషి my friend. As a conjunction it is thus used ఐన or అయినా or అయినను but though it were so, yet, వాడయినా వీడయినా be it that man or this, either one or the other. It is added to interrogatives as ఎక్కడ. &c., and it gives a strong emphasis as ఎక్కడనైనా wheresoever. ఎవ్వడయినా whosoever. ఎప్పుడయినా whenever. రెండుకోసులయినా at least two miles. ఎవ్వడైననేమి never mind who it was. It turns nouns into adjectives as సొగసైన pretty, having elegance. Else-where it is translated who is (and is added to adjective nouns, thus) కవి అయిన భీమన the poet Bhīmana. విద్వాంసుడైన కవి a poet who is a man of learning. Thus also in the plural ధనికులైన వర్తకులు merchants who are rich. ఐనను or ఐనప్పటికిన్ని although. but, అందుకు అయిన క్రమము the price of that. నాకైనను even to me మేనల్లుడైన అంతఃకరణవల్ల through the affection arising from his being a nephew. ఐనట్టయితే See ఐతే. మీది అయినట్టయితే should it be yours. ఐనప్పటికిన్ని conj. When it is so, even then, nevertheless, still, yet.

(p. 221) aucityamu auchityamu. [Skt from ఉచితము.] n. Fitness, suitability, propriety. యోగ్యత. ఔచిత్యమెరిగి మాట్లాడినాడు he spoke appropriately. అనౌచిత్యప్రసంగము an inappropriate remark.

Unsuitable, improper. కూడనిమాట an unappropriate word. కూడబడు kūḍa-baḍu. v. n. To meet, unite చేరు. కూడబెట్టు kūḍa-beṭṭu. v. a. To collect. చేర్చు. To save as money. కూడమి kūḍami. n. To attack, meet with; లేండ్లగమిగిట్టుకోల్పులి the tiger that attacks the deer. M. 9. 1. 260. కలియు, కదియు, పైపడు, తాకు, పొదుపుకొను. 'శక్తిదండకృపాణ పాశములు నీటెగదయు శూలముగొని నిశాచరుని గిట్టి' T. v. 111. గిట్టుబడి or గిట్టింపు giṭṭubaḍi. n.
