(p. 179) eṇḍa enḍa. [Tel.] n. Heat, sunshine, glare, radiance, ఎండయెక్కినది the sun is high. చిరుఎండ the soft heat of the morning or evening; రేయెండ moonshine. వాడు వచ్చినప్పుడు నిండా యెండయెక్కినది it was late in the day when he arrived. ఎండకాచునప్పుడు when it is hot. నీకు ఎండ తగిలినది, or, నీ ముఖమునకు ఎండతగిలినది you look hot or fatigued, ఎండకన్నెరుగనివాడు one whose 'eye knows not the sunbeam,' i.e., who lives in the shade. ఎండకాలము eṇḍa-kālamu. n. The hot weather. ఎండగట్టు eṇḍa-gaṭṭu. v. t. To tie up (as a cloth) in the sun to dry. ఎండిపోవు. ఎండదెబ్బ eṇḍa-gāli. n. A burning wind. ఎండగోట్టు eṇḍa-goṭṭu. v. i. To dry up or wither ఎండిసోవు. ఎండదెబ్బ eṇḍa-debba. n. A stroke of the sun. ఎండదొర or ఎండరేడు eṇḍa-dora. n. The sun. ఎండపొద్దు eṇḍa-poddu. n. Noon. ఎండమావి eṇḍa-māvi. n. The mirage మృగతృష్ణ. ఎండబెట్టు eṇḍa-beṭṭu. v. t. To put out to dry. ఎదురెండ the sun against the face.

(p. 255) karra karra. [Tel.] n. Wood, a piece of wood. A stick or staff. The stem or stalk of grain; any straight rod whether of wood or not. పొగకర్ర or జాలకర్ర a sunbeam. ఇనపకర్ర a bar of iron. కర్రపచ్చినికోసినకోత reaping while the stalks are green. Blackness నలుపు. A dark stain మరక. See కర. కర్రకుట్లు karrakuṭlu. n. A piece of flesh fried over a fire. ఇనుపశలాకయందు గ్రుచ్చి కాల్చే మాంసఖండము.

(p. 803) poga or పొప poga. [Tel.]n. Smoke, steam, vapour. ధూమము. 'ఊరుపుపొగల్' the vapour of sighs. Vasu. iv. 10. పొగతాగు to smoke a pipe or cheroot. 'అగరు సాంబ్రాణిపొగలుపట్టి' Ila. i. 140. టీ ధూప మిచ్చి. పొగకన్ను poga-kannu. n. Siva's eye from which fire issued. పొగకర్ర poga-karra. n. A sunbeam. Lit: a stick of smoke, because a beam has that appearance if it falls amid smoke. పొగగూడు poga-gūḍu. n. A chimney. పొగచు, పొగుచు or పొగయించు pogaṭsu. To cause to smoke, పొగయజేయు. To fry, to season with spices. ఇగురబెట్టు, తిరుగబోతబెట్టు, సాతాళించు. 'కలమాన్నము నొల్చిన పప్పునాలుగే న్పొగిచినకూరలున్.' A. i. 39. టీ పొగచినకూరలున్, ఇగురుకూరలును. పొగచుట్ట poga-ṭsūṭṭa. n. A cheroot or cigar. పొగకుంట a tobacco field. పొగాకువేసిన కుంట నేల. పొగచూరు poga-ṭsūru. v. n. To be smoked, పొగపట్టు, పొగవాసన కలిగియుండు. పొగచెట్టు or పొగాకుచెట్టు poga-cheṭṭu. n. A smoke rocket, i.e., a bomb-shell, ధూమము కమ్ముకొనేటట్టుచేయు ఆకాశబాణము. 'పొగబాణములగముల్ నిగిడింపగ్రమ్మెడు, ధూమంపుపెనుమొగుల్ తొంగలింప.' Bobbili. iii. 137. పొగయు or పొవయు pogayu. v. n.
